I just don't get logic behind Nerfing Range on Smite . Riot why again you nerf Junglers... holy moly

XuWarrior··5 votes·1,728 views

It's not like Jarvan or Lee LCS BIG plays(sarcasm) will be worse or something.

You just again slap in the face other junglers .

Let's Reasume what Riot did :

1)You have 2x Charges on Smite ( only positive change)

  1. Increase gold 1st tier jungler item - Jarvan , Lee ( NO CHANGE it did not affect them) - it was slap to other junglers who had already problems with clearing jungle and now they are even worse

  2. Now you Reduce Range for smite - Again Jarvan and Lee ( IT WILL NOT AFFECT THEM) - it's again slap to other junglers .

You promised us :

  1. Diversity
  2. Come back of Tank Junglers

Fail and Fail . sorry

Let's discuss

Except, they didn't nerf smite completely. They only nerfed Chilling Smite by about 150, and it has lower range on champions. In nerfing the range, they changed it from center-to-center to edge-to-edge, meaning that the range starts at the edge of the champion rather than the center, to the edge of whatever it's targeting. Meaning the range didn't take that big of a nose dive, because they increased it one place and decreased it somewhere else. Read through what they say before you assume anything.

Reading comprehension, kids, is why you stay in school.

I was right, then? Awesome.

Either that, or we both have terrible comprehension skills.

Nerfing Chilling doesn't impact the three best junglers, it only nerfs the junglers already struggling to keep up. Not only that, WHY IMPLEMENT THE CHANGE AT ALL? What is the point?? It fixes nothing, nobody asked for it, it contributes nothing positive and adds harm to the game.

There is literally nothing in this post I agree with.

Chilling smite is a really, really good way to set up your Jarvan EQ. I don't ever buy the thing on Sejuani. Nerfs are highly welcome from the perspective of most tank junglers.

Are you insane? How do you think Shyvana feels? Or any melee ADC jungler? Elise/Evelynn can't be too thrilled, and they're just doing GREAT right now in the jungle. Kha'Zix? Pah, he's a melee. When did a melee ever need CC for sticking power? Pantheon sure doesn't want it either. Shaco? Nah, he has his 2 second delay boxes. Skarner NEVER gets kited. Wukong can't like it too much either. [INSERT LITERALLY ANY JUNGLER WITH LOW/NO CC HERE] isn't too happy about it.

To top it off, TANK JUNGLERS welcome it? Excuse me for a moment.

Every jungler gets some weaker when chilling smite is nerfed. However, absolute value is not what we care about. We care about relative value.

Lee Sin and Jarvan get more value from chilling smite than any of the junglers you listed. Nerfs to it affect them more. Most tank junglers would prefer Ranger's to be the dominant jungler item, because they tend to need some help in clearing.

You are completely off base. Absolute value should be considered because it hurts the top junglers much less than the ones already struggling. I didn't imply it helps them, that was pure straw man.

Also, those two do NOT value it most. Lee does NOT value it more than Shaco, or Udyr, for instance. What you said just isn't true. The champions with lower mobility will be hurt way more than champions that have tools to still get into smite range.

This is nearly un-debatable. Range nerfs hurt people who cannot get into range more than those who can. Your argument is simply not logical and poorly thought out.

Absolute value should be considered because it hurts the top junglers much less than the ones already struggling.

Absolute value only matters if you care about jungler balance relative to the other roles. Relative value is what matters if you want to see more junglers see play. This change alone won't fix jungler balance, but it'll help.

Lee does NOT value it more than Shaco, or Udyr, for instance. What you said just isn't true. The champions with lower mobility will be hurt way more than champions that have tools to still get into smite range.

Shaco barely even cares that chilling smite slows the enemy.

Items that make ganking more reliable are terrible for Udyr, because the opposing jungler gets more value from them than he does. If the opponent has a slow or a dash (aka almost every played laner), that chilling smite isn't getting him to the target anyway.

Range nerfs hurt people who cannot get into range more than those who can.

That's probably true, but how do you get from there to "tank junglers want chilling smite"? Most tank junglers already don't buy the thing. For example, Sejuani, Nautilus, Maokai, Hecarim all buy purple.

Things that make early ganking stronger favor early ganking champions. Most tank junglers hate trying to go against Lee Sin in ganks at level 3. They would vastly prefer a metagame that favors jungle farming early, which means they would prefer purple smite to be the best smite.

They said it's something they're testing. It's not even on live yet. Chill out.

Troy2426212 votes

Which doesn't mean I cannot complain about it, or question their competency for considering it.

Surr20plz2 votes

They shouldn't be nerfing it at all.

These jungle nerfs are the reason nobody wants to jungle and we will once again see lee sin in every single game. If you make the jungle harder then you need to balance that with more reward. Stop the nerf of all jungle and nerf the problem jungles. This didn't seem to cross your mind for a second with warwick how long has he sucked? Forever he became good ok yes he needed nerfed he was a god but you nerfed him not everyone and now he sucks once again.
