Cho'Gath's becoming an issue.

With everything being nerfed these days and top lane creeping on the almost strictly Teleport meta, Cho'gath has proved to not only be an effective tank/ burst mage but a downright toxic one.

His kit is streamlined so much. He gets sustain via auto attacks, Two forms of hard CC, one followed up by soft CC, all of which deal a ton of damage as well, a health based execute that munches through tanks, while being naturally tanky enough himself to basically out trade the fighters.

And of course, since Teleport is so good right now, taking combat spells like ignite is foolish, because then he plays like Nasus and somehow out scales you, playing it safe till level 9. But unlike Nasus who simply split pushes the entire game, Cho'Gath has extremely good team fight potential late game.

He's just another example of a champion who's always been good, but now that more popular champions have been knocked down a pegg, he's resurging as a dangerously toxic champion to game health.

"Sustain via auto attacks"

...no. He gets sustain IF he kills things. This sustain is still reasonably low early; poke him or punish him for going for cs.

"Two forms of hard CC"

Also no. He gets one form of Hard CC (Knockup), 2 forms of soft CC (Slow following knockup, silence). Additionally, his Q is reasonably hard to land against any champion with mobility/boots.

"Health based execute"

...Have you even looked at Cho's kit? Ever? He has a true damage nuke that gives him a stacking size + HP bonus if he kills with it. This means A) if he's getting stacks, he's easy to hit with skillshots and B) killing him removes a lot of his presence.

"Naturally tanky"

His health per level is middle of the pack on an immobile melee and his only tank steroid is a stacking ult he loses half the stacks of on death. While his base armor and AD are rather high, his immobility and only one reliable CC (W) are why.

Silence is a form of hard CC. That's why Riot's been trying to get rid of it on a lot of champions as it can effectively shut down counter play. Slows are the only form of soft CC

negative. Riot only got rid of targeted silence, most of which were on champs that could end you on their own while it happened: Talon, LeBlanc, Kassadin. Honorable mention for soraka because that was a 0 cost spell. Soraka, Blitzcrank, Cho all get it on an aoe. Alos, I'd still rather eat blitzcrank's ult than Amumu's, so no, it's a softer CC.

You don't know chogath's abilities whatsoever do you?

Mobility creep

Why would you say Mobility Creep in a Cho'Gath thread? He's slow...

Cho is good early game, but realistically he's so clunky in team fights, if your team dodges his knock up and kite effectively he's neutered.

You get what you pay for when you build as Cho'Gath. At best you get a low-to-moderate amount of base damage on your abilities and a 1.0 AP Ratio.

I do think he's really good, but he has oodles of counterplay to his kit.

Low to moderate base damages?

Actually, he has some of the highest base damages and AP scalings in the whole game. Q does 305 base damage at rank 5, with a 1.0 AP ratio, while being AoE. The only other basic abilities that are similarily strong in base and scaling are Veigar's Dark Matter (320 + 1.0 AP) and Anivia's Q and E (360/350 + 1.0 AP). Both of which are equally as difficult to land. W does 275 + 0.7 AP, which is still rather high, especially for an AoE ability.

Play Teemo.

I only play Cho top to shut down melee tops like Riven and Darius who I can reliably guess where they will be moving. If he misses a q or w, the fight will be over before the cooldowns are over. Punish him for missing a q skillshot.

Yes, if he lands a W, Q and R he can kill your ADC. He has pretty decent peel for teamfights, but as a tank he's kind of meh compared to Leona or Braum.

So you are saying he will be the new Zed of toplane?

So you are saying he will be the new Zed of toplane?

Cho'Gath doesn't have two blinks, an untargetable dash, or energy-based abilities.

XD True, was just commenting how Zed mostly rose to the top due to everyone else being nerfed.
