The Things Wrong With MF

Heckin Support··87 votes·10,134 views

Even though some of the stuff is a big exaggerated, its true. This video (to me) pin points whats wrong with mf. I was also very let down by this "rework".

1)Her passive is not the best, it should be designed to chase (being a bounty hunter) but is just turned off from a minion

2)Her double up cone is so tiny and doesn't prioritize champions

3)Her impure shots is a generic attack speed steroid, it used to give a benefit (the GW) but riot said it was an "invisible power". But the passive reset that no one even notices isn't an invisible power? People who actually enjoyed playing mf knew about the gw, which is why she was picked against champions with tons of healing.

4)Her make it rain is ap. Ap, for an adc, and doesn't do much to be honest. It has a casting animation making her vulnerable for getting away or catching up.

5)Her ultimate is immensely underwhelming, and the damage is confusing for an adc.

6)She brings nothing to the table that other adc's bring, but better.

TLDR: Miss Fortune rework was kind of a let down.

TLDR: Miss Fortune rework was kind of a let down.

That's because it wasn't a rework, it was a nerf with a band-aid.

Jeddy01716 votes

Yeah,Riot just touched her a little & called it a day because they probably wanted her update out in time for the Bilgewater event. ....huh,that sounds familiar......Cassiopeia

Teridax684 votes

I feel the Cassiopeia rework was actually the opposite of Miss Fortune's in many ways. Cass's rework was barely mentioned during the Shurima event, even if her character featured in the story, and her rework did significantly change her dynamic, even if it was pushed to Live way too soon. MF, on the other hand, was announced right alongside Gangplank at the start of the Bilgewater event, and her whole page made it look like she was getting a full rework, yet the end result was a set of changes that were smaller than many other champions' gameplay tweaks over the course of an average patch.

I think Keyori's pretty spot-on with a lot of the complaints he makes in his video: Miss Fortune has the potential to be really fun, but is bogged down by really weird damage scalings and abilities that just aren't as well-developed as they could be. Strut, especially, could easily flesh out Miss Fortune's identity as a good roamer and chaser, but gets deactivated way too easily. All of these problems have been brought up by the community for literally years, and Riot even promised to make her passive scale, but when the time came and Riot got our hopes up with a dedicated page for Miss Fortune's update, they addressed none of those issues, not even the ones they promised to fix (namely, Strut's lack of relevance past the laning phase). I do hope she gets looked at again in the future.

Well,I meant it in the fact that the champs' received unsatisfactory gameplay updates that were released during an event.

Was a huge let down. Wish it wasn't because i love some of her skins but unless i decide to play a normal to lose with her whats the point. Cracks me up that Geeves leads the balance team though. Makes complete sense.

I found the video extremely inaccurate from the perspective of a person who mains ADCs and also mains Miss Fortune. I rarely find any truth in any explanations of Miss Fortune and most of what I hear about her seems just like people being sheep.

She's a really solid, healthy, and strong ADC and not only that but she's statistically on every website doing better than most other ADCs in all elos. She has a higher damage output, more kills, less deaths, and more wins than most ADCs. She isn't that popular, though she isn't that uncommon to see either.

I can not tell you the last time I've seen a Miss Fortune in ranked. It's always Jinx, Vayne, and Sivir. And I don't see how she is a solid adc given she is so easily caught out. She has 0 mobility and gives nothing to her team someone like any of the adc I've listen can't give but better. Want poke and aoe? Jinx. Want aoe burst? Graves. Want tank killing potential? Vayne. Want hard engage/disengage? Sivir. She doesn't really have an identity as a champion where she brings something unique to the table.

A Miss Fortune11 votes

I've said this many times before but, I'll try to keep it short. Miss Fortune in the words of another person, is like the Thresh of all ADCs. Thresh literally works in and against any team comp because of his utility and how well he works as a Support (except when theres a Thresh ADC that one shots you).

Miss Fortune rarely is countered by other ADCs, she fits well into any team comp and fits well against any team comp. She's so strong in solo queue because regardless of who she's with or against, she can do really well. Unlike Kog'Maw for example, if your team can't protect him especially during his weak phases, he'll be useless until full build and die often. And Jinx or Corki for example, have a ton of counters that smart teams will be abuse and can invalidate them, especially Corki, for a large amount of the game.

Miss Fortune also unlike most ADCs, has insanely strong early game, she's stronger but much less safe than Caitlyn. Miss Fortune's poke is on a lower cooldown, lower mana cost, can do higher damage, and is easier to hit. Not only that, but Miss Fortune also can all-in someone so easily. Whereas Caitlyn, would most likely die if she didn't poke them down first and abuse her high range.

Miss Fortune is really strong in solo queue due to her insanely powerful early - mid game, and her late game is still pretty good. She clearly falls off late game, though her W passive can do a ton of damage and she also like any ADC, can instakill a squishy in one or two auto attacks. She doesn't suffer against team comps building around her, and she doesn't have a problem with being in any team comp. She's insanely flexible and can teamfight, duel, siege, etc. Even if she's behind, her high base damage ultimate and her E provides her enough utility and she takes towers reliably fast unlike other ADCs who have much less reliable steroids.

Her identity is a versatile/flexible ADC, and also an early game god. Yesterday my Jungler said "So, why do you main Miss Fortune, she's so bad." right as me and my support 2v3'ed their bot lane and jungler and got me a triple. Mind you I was up against a Kalista, Leona, and Master Yi. This was in Ranked as well.

Sure, Vayne for example can duel and take down tanks faster, however, while Miss Fortune can duel fairly well and she is REALLY annoying to counterbuild, Vayne clearly wins here. Though Vayne's teamfighting is utter garbage unless you're playing low elo and your team is brain dead, Miss Fortune unlike Vayne can teamfight extremely well. Miss Fortune's ability to do pretty much anything besides being a late game hypercarry, makes her such a solid pick.

I am going to have to disagree with you here. Miss Fortune does not work well in just any team comp. She works best in a team where she gets peel to she can start stacking impure shots. Her laning phase is alright, but Caitlyn lanes 100% better and has a late game. MF's poke is on a lower cd's than Caitlyn, but Caitlyn's poke is from her auto attacks. Her all in is alright in early levels, but if she is engaged on she won't be able to fight back. Any support with a tool to catch her out will make quick work of her. She works well with kill lanes, because she is now a snowball champion.

Her mid game is...alright at best. She is pretty much a weaker Graves though. Her Bullet Time is strong, but thats if you can catch them in the full duration. Again, a comp built around abusing her mid game raw damage. Graves does it better. His collateral damage is instant, doesn't make him stand still, is AoE, and he can attack after it. His attack speed steroid is also a dash. Her late game is good if she is protected. Its as simple as that. She won't do well unless she has a team built around making her strong.

Her identity is not a flexible, fit into anything. It is now a snowbally mid game with a safe early. She is a jack of trades that falls short. With chnages to strut so shields keep it up, her job is to just do as much damage as possible through autos. Late game, the only point to her ult is if you have a BC. Her range is also unsafe considering her only form of defense is strut that shatters so easy. She just falls short.

I can tell you amazing plays I have done with MF too, but good plays does not mean the champ is good. I main MF, and I am still willing to admit that she is just not good. She needs her kit to be updated. Make it Rain shouldn't have a cast time. Her ult shouldn't deal such odd damage. It should all be physical, and while we are at it, it should deal late game damage. The best way to update it is make it like Lucian's ult. Scales with Attack speed and AD.

Tl;DR: I love MF, but she is not a versatile jack of trades. She is a snowbally adc who needs a team to really thrive, and the effort put in to win isn't worth it when you can just play Graves and do her job better.

Zyorhist15 votes

she is solid. the problem is that they stripped power off her without compensation. people are mad because they tried to put it off as a rework instead of the nerf it was.

Chortle3 votes

They allowed Impure Shots to activate Strut for it's duration (not broken by combat) and increased Make it Rain's slow % early. That's a pretty significant buff to her survivability and chase potential.

She's sitting at a 50% winrate in plat+ solo queue right now. She's fine tbh

Binxy Prime5 votes

except that it does get broken still so its actually useless. Also given a choice I would take the GW over both of those buffs because its actually useful and has a niche vs lifesteal champs, where as now shes worse than other ADCS that do the same thing in every way.

Not to mention your overall Ranked Win Rate is <50%, as is your MF Win Rate.

Please stop acting like you know everything about MF when I doubt you can even orb walk.

Did you even know that MF's Q applie's on-hit effects including Spellblade?

A Miss Fortune2 votes

Wait, so, you're trying to bring in my elo without even knowing a single thing about me.

First off, I was an idiot and played Ranked immediately after hitting level 30 due to my friends wanting me to. I did very poorly and only won 3/10 games, but I actually got Silver and my KDA wasn't horrific. Only until recently did I start playing Ranked and every game I've had a very good KDA and won almost all of them. I also do know higher elo players that have taught me the game and I regularly play with, against people who are Gold, Platinum, and well above my standing and do extremely well with with Miss Fortune.

Please stop acting like you know me, and I doubt you even know what orb walking ACTUALLY is. The term isn't even from League of Legends, it originated from DotA.

And yes, MF's Q applies on-hit effects, in the scripts It's counted as an auto attack. If you execute someone with the Double Up, it displays a crit and also applies 1 stack of Frenzy for example.

Rinky Dinky4 votes

She would be if her Q wasnt random as fuck

A Miss Fortune1 votes

I personally never have had an issue with it? But I believe that it prioritizes champions you auto attack. If you're new to Miss Fortune or just are having troubles with landing her Double Up, my best tip is to auto attack them and then try to poke through the minions. Her Impure Shots lasts a fairly long time I believe too.

Basically depending where Miss Fortune is positioned, the bullet hits in a cone. It focuses directly on anything behind it, but if there isn't, it also can sort of curve a bit in an L shape is the best way I can explain.

Rinky Dinky5 votes

I've played her a lot recently.

Her Q will not prioritize champions, low minions, or anything.

It will almost always hit a random target in the indicator.

I've tested in customs, and it is very inconsistent, especially with champions.

I honestly seems like it prioritizes minions over champions. Full HP minion, or half dead ADC? Better chunk the minion!

Kinda hard to take advantage of Q doing increased damage if its only reliable for double tapping some minions.

So basically, your saying her Q is fine because, in order to get it to work right, all you have to do is

1 - Run up into AA Range of an enemy champ and AA them,
2 - Hope by some random miracle there is a minion between you AND the enemy champion 3 - Hope said Minion is within Kill Range of the initial Q Hit, which is barely more than AA Damage 4 - And the enemy champ has to be within the very narrow 60 deg bounce cone from the minion. 5 - And hope your enemy is dumb enough not to side step the 10 units required for them to get out of the cone

That, in all honesty, is a VERY RIDICULOUS set of requirements that need to be met for a single "poke" spell to be properly utilitzed as "poke".

Shiiiro8 votes

MF still has no reason to be picked over any other immobile ADC. Jinx is a hypercarry, Varus can be played as a poke caster, Ashe has her utility and amazing ult which can be used to initiate, and Kogmaw has his superior range and late game.

While MF has a good early-mid game, late game she has a near useless passive, using double up would be probably decrease her dps, and an ult that requires her to stand still and can be walked out of with ease.

Zyorhist7 votes

I typically don't get in on my opinions with reworks but as a MF main I am horribly disappointed here.

My MF winrate was a staggering 54% before and now it feels like everything works wrong when I play her. Her q takes so much time to fire, it doesn't do crap when it hits unless it kills something and is horribly inconsistent on where it will decide to go. I will say that it has always been pretty inconsistent but its irritating as hell when you fire it and it bounces off a minion over a champ onto another minion, then next time you wait for the positioning to be better and it bounces off a minion onto another minion instead of over it to the champ. It seems to prioritize minions over all other targets. Her passive is good for getting to lane, but that about it. I have never had any disputes with it but getting it back on her w, that's just irritating. I loved the grievous wounds and they aren't actually replacing the power they took away. I need to get away so I hit w and wow...its gone because 1 caster minion canceled the move speed. where does that bring back power you took away for my dueling power. granted her e isn't changed much, I still feel like it is clunky when I cast it. It doesn't feel as smooth as it used to. Her R with the rapid scale from center to edges. That is again stripping power off of her but where is it being given back. Numbers didn't change, range didn't change there is no compensation. My enemies see that first wave and now can step off instead of taking a hit first. You took away power. I'm glad I'm stepping out of the ADC role and going elsewhere because this is irritating.

Nielarken5 votes

Miss Fortune gains an additional 25 (+9 each second) movement speed up to 70 maximum bonus speed. If Miss Fortune is hit with a snare or crowd control she is reduced to 0 bonus movement speed.

I think that her passive should only break on cc (slows, stuns, knock ups) because impure shot right now resets her passive but why would you need it reset when it breaks instantly from any direct damage. You already get your passive back out of combat because if your taking damage your in combat getting hit. Now if you lose your passive due to a cc you impure shot and you can keep on moving (unless you get chain cc in that case R.I.P). It would also help band aid the double up nerfed cone by allowing you to move to better angles faster. Miss Fortune like Ashe is immobile, ashe keeps her enemy's away with slows mf should keep her enemy's away with speed. Sorry for my horridly explained comment but these are just my thoughts on the matter.

There is use for an adc that deals magic damage, and the fact that it scales off of AD is a good thing. Corki is often picked because he deals a good amount of mixed damage. If you are in a team with an ad mid and top, you can pick MF or Corki to bring some magic damage to the team fights keeping your opponent from ez tanking up.

There are also duel pen runes you could have on a page for this occasion.

I do miss the grievous wounds though. That's been taken out of a lot of places and it really sucks. Without something like that you get out healed way too often. They need to bring that back, it's a strategic choice.

Zair Umbras2 votes

There's currently three other ADC's that do a good amount of Mixed Damage and said champions are Kog'Maw, Corki, and Ezreal. Of these three, one is better at being played AP Mid, Kog'Maw, one WAS played AP Mid because Runeglaive OP (Not anymore), Ezreal, and the last does 10% of his AD as true damage on EACH AA on top of having 3 AD scalings, no AA stacking requirement, etc. Imagine if Corki had to get 4 AA's in before his passive did the 10% of his AD as true damage and you'd have Miss Fortune W's in a nut shell, except it'd still be better because Corki would get buffed for his abilities to also proc it since Corki has been Riot's secret favorite forever when it comes to ADC's. Let's face it, Corki went out of the META once in S2 because his passive got nerfed to not be 10% of his AA's damage (That means it was affected by Crit and TrinityPhreak, even though they only covered it up saying 'Not Affected By Crits'). He's been shown love since S3 even when nerfed.

Well first off - I didn't say there weren't other mixed damage adc. What I'm saying is that a mixed damage adc isn't bad. The video talks about magic damage being such a bad thing for an adc to do, and that just isn't true. If you homogenize all of her damage into physical than people can just armor up against her like they could against Twitch or Jinx and shut her down. She has an advantage in her mixed damage.

Secondly - I don't entirely agree with her re-work. I think losing GW is horrible and really wish Riot would quit removing that trait. Anti-heal is a choice you can make to counter certain team comps such as sona, soraka, mundo, volibear, tahm, ect. I would like GW back on GP and I'd love Executioners Calling returned to the game as a viable anti-heal item choice the way Morellonomicon is.

As for the rest of her kit - I would hardly call what they did to her a re-work... It's almost like they just changed things to change things... Nothing meaningful is any different on this MF than previous.

We have tried and tried again to get Riot to understand what us MissFortune players want, but time and time again they don't listen. We gave them tons of valid reasons for the changes we want to see, that a majority of players agreed with as well. However, they took almost no input from us. I will have to make it into an LCS team to be heard apparently, seems that's all they care about as this mini rework was catered to those players anyways, which they still think she is trash so gg riot.

The strength of MF USED TO BE that she was a pretty strong lane bully early-on with her Q bounce, that she was strong in early-mid game teamfights with her ult and that she did mixed damage, making it hard to build against her.

There are now FAR stronger early-game champs and mixed damage champs being strong hasn't been a thing in a long while. Her ult being an AoE mage-style attack is her only really unique feature and it's not very strong, truth be told. She needed up an update to keep up with her peers, but instead they took away one of the few things she had that no one else did. GW.

So yeah, she's kinda crap now on every level. Working as intended.

Zair Umbras3 votes

Miss Fortune always gets the short end of the stick for some reason. She was once a top tier ADC that brought pure hell to an AoE Comp with her R scaling off of AD and when paired with Leona, she made AP Nunu with a max channeled R look weak, but that's what she had that was unique. She was hard to shove out of lane because of her passive, her double up was a lane bullying device, and her R was pure death, then they decided to nerf both her AP and AD playstyles. AP by changing her W to scale off of AD while her Q gained an AP ratio. Her AD nerfed by her R losing its actual AD scaling.

Miss Fortune pre-rework had a 35% scaling on her R at all points of the game, no stacks needed. Miss Fortune at 1 rank R does 6% each wave up to a max of 36%. If you have at least 5 AA's on the target prior to pressing R, it was a net buff. If you were combo'ing your R with other champion's CC, you pretty much lost every bit of damage ever. Seriously. And AP MF? Her W did 5% per hit, up to 25% of AP. With a Nashor's, that was 25% per AA, up to 45% (5% from masteries, 15% from Nashor's). AP MF wasn't the best, but it was fun to play and could ramp up DPS like a Cass and we all LOVED it. It had counterplay and was FUN. Just like the old AD MF was fun and her counterplay was choosing safe champions much like you would against a Graves, Urgot, or Draven. You KNOW they've got the damage and you KNOW you don't want to be anywhere near it when it's off cool down, so you do stay the hell away until you get the needed gank or the enemy runs out of mana or if their support misses a long CD like Leona's E early on or Braum blows the wall, etc.

I want the old Miss Fortune back. Her rework was the worst rework to date. It fixed absolutely nothing. It made her AP build completely useless while putting that playstyle 'SORT OF' into her AD, yet giving it not even a FRACTION of the AP's sustained damage.

I'll also mention the video touches on Geeves. To my knowledge, he wasn't the one who designed Miss Fortune's rework last season. He made her ORIGINAL kit and has been known to make some REALLY strong champions that are strong, but not overloaded. Xin Zhao was his biggest champion to date and his only failure was Urgot. Urgot is considered a failure in the fact he's not as much of an ADC as much as he was the ANTI-ADC, much like he was the Anti-Assassin. He also did Gragas, who wasn't a failure, but Riot released him with another champion and had released him with so many bugs that Kha'Zix would've been jealous... Like, he had so many bugs that even Azir felt bad for the guy. But the kit itself was amazing and even had to be reworked because it was TOO good. His other champions include Garen, Kennen, and Trundle. Three of his champions had gotten reworks. Trundle, MF, and Gragas. Gragas being too good. Trundle getting mostly only a VU with his W and R getting minor buffs, Q being more responsive, and such. MF... No one even saw that coming. Miss Fortune was a top tier ADC. She was GOOD, but she wasn't overwhelming. She had her place in the bot lane for an AoE comp stomp when paired with Leona or Sona, Amumu, and Karthus, but her visuals, just like Trundle for a while there, had kept her pick rate in the hole. Let's face it, she looked like garbage. She had Irelia hair, boxy form, and overall needed a VU, but instead got shafted with the biggest nerf in history.

I don't think any ADC has been nerfed as hard as Miss Fortune. The only other champion to have ever been hit as hard as MF is the one who destroyed the S2 top lane roster, yet still managed to make it into play in S3 as a damn Jungler... Yorick. Fucking. Morri. YES. Yorick is the only one to have ever been shafted as hard as Miss Fortune and kicked out of the game so hard, he's not even on the damn weekly roto anymore. Only other champion to get reworked into oblivion otherwise is Kassadin and even he had his top lane tanky build that made any top lane magic damage champ cry. Like Mao'Kai and Vlad.

I feel you! old mf was the best...if old mf kit was still around with this VU...she would be really good

really, that guy on the video has no clue...carrys not useing on-hit?item 3153 item 3087 item 3508 item 3072 item 3078 ...lifesteal is probably the strongest on hit in the game, and every adc will get it..also, she got her own on-hit anyway. And whats the problem with haveing ap-ratios? it's not like she doesn't have ad-ratios...and nobody gives a fuck about kogmaw haveing ap ratios and no ad ratios either...

Mf has a massive earlymidgame, especially if you max E first and go with hybrid-pen rines. it's really hard to get early defense vs her due mixed damage, and since her laneingphase is incredible strong, she will usually have a lead early-mid. Her E has one of the highest base damages in the game if leveld first, as well as a massive slow. Her Ult not only deals resonable high damage on it's own on a huge aoe/range, but stacks up her W, so her cleanup after her ult is pretty massive.

Her only problem is that she doesn't scale that well into the late, as her highest scaleing besides AAs is magic damage, so she can't get the pen she wants. However, no one complains about corki or Kog dealing 50%+magic damage even as adc, and corki even got a flat armorshred that doesn't really sybergies with his kit... People are fine with corki beeing strong lane and midgame but falling off later, so why do you bitch about missfortune?

The only part off her kit that really needs a buff is her passive, by finally ignoreing minions....

However, i agree that the rework was rather bad for her, it removed one remaining strength that carryed on to the lategame, her GW, and replaced it with a mostly usless passive-reset. The Q buff mostly helps her already strong laneingphase, while helpping not at all in the late

smh...

And lets be honest, MF doesn't deal that much magic damage to warrant hybrid pen runes and for the enemy to build mr. Also, Corki does it better.

so just stay oblivious sheeps and pretend MF is a weak champ cause you're to ignorant to use her potential. Her E has a ,assive base damage(90-310), and the slow gets huge. maxing it first gives stronger trades, better waveclear and a massive all in at 6, as a 50% aoe slow means anyone without escape-skill needs flash to avoid your full ult, while E+ult deal 600aoe without the W stacks already. you need to land 3 bouncing-(or two lasthit-) Qs to match the damage growth per rank on her E...Qs damage is mostly in the total-ad ratio, not the base values.

Okay, I main MF. Let me tell you maxing Make it Rain is the worst idea you could ever do on adc MF. You only max Make it Rain on AP Fortune. Why? Make it Rain has a high mana cost, and it is very easy to just wak out of it. It does not scale with AD, and by level 9, who is going to do more damage? MF's make it rain deals 90 / 145 / 200 / 255 / 310 (+ 80% AP). You will get 310 magic damage over the course of 2 seconds if you max it first, and its'c cooldown will be 10 seconds. Now, when you max double up, you get 20 / 35 / 50 / 65 / 80 (+ 85% AD) (+ 35% AP) if you hit them. However, the damage is increased if the double up kills its first target, and it only has a 3 second cooldown. It also applies Impure Shots, and the best part, it resets her attack animation. In a Trade auto, double up, auto is already pretty good damage, then impure shots for attack speed. That is how you win trades, not dropping a Make it Rain.

The argument for maxing it has 0 grounds to stand on. As an MF main, I can assure you that double up then impure shots are better in every way. MF's make it rain is a utility spell that only does good damage if the opponent is dumb enough to just stand there. Most adc's will out trade you, and out farm you with their low mana cost good AD tools.

Her "massive all in at 6" would be easily shut down. The moment you are in range to bullet time make it rain, one of two things will happen. A, the champ will use a mobility spell (Cait net, Vayne Tumble, Ez Dash, Corki Valk, Graves dash, Lucian dash), or the immobile ones will flash. Then they will turn the all in against you. You will be standing still for an easy stun, Make it Rain AND bullet time will be on full CD, and they will completely destroy you since Make it Rain was maxed.

Maxing Make it Rain is great on AP MF because the base and the scaling, but Double Up is the way to go in bot lane.

Sure she could use a little more tune-ups but she isn't as bad as people make her out to be. This video is over dramatic as hell

Double up was SUPPOSED to prioritize champions after the mini rework x-x I asked riot kateychaos... I guess they forgot?

Also, did they even change the duration on make it rain? It says 2 seconds in the live client, but it definitely feels longer. It used to be 3 seconds, but they made NO indication there was any change in the patch notes. I feel like Miss Fortune is a hot mess, and Riot just doesn't care enough to fix her >_> I feel so bad for MF mains... (are there any left? I think they all play Jinx now)

I've played a few games on new MF. When I first saw the rework I was similarly disappointed. Having played her now i'll say this:

She feels smoother in her play pattern. The passive is actually really nice and using the W rest to escape fights or dodge skillshots actually does feel good.

The buffed slow to her E is nice, but I hate that it has a cast time. it would be WAY more useful if you could cast it while moving, as this would give you more ability to peel for yourself. I've noticed while fleeing with the new W passive reset that I still get caught becuase i try to stop and cast E. Remove the cast time and there'd be more synergy there.

In general her base kit feels fine. It still does damage, she's still really strong in lane, and the passive gives her solid map mobility.

HOLY SHIT THE ULT IS USELESS AS HECK. Like, it was always pretty bad, but without the Grievous Wounds debuff affecting the enemy team there is just ZERO reason to use this in teamfights. Seriously, it feels awful. I swear it looks like I'm tickling them. Use the ult to clear waves or back enemies off your tower. Only bother with it in teamfights if you can VERY safely get off a full channel. Even then, it's kinda pointless.

TLDR: Losing the GW on the W isn't the end of the world, but losing it on the ult realllly realllly realllly sucks. Also remove the cast time on E and it would be a lot better. Otherwise, I think she's pretty okay.

This video is perfect. It pretty much pins down everything that is wrong with MF, mainly all those messed up ratios and the fact that all her abilities, including passive, are underwhelming.

You guys know how Veigar mains cried a lot after Veigar's mini-rework? Well, now MF mains get a little taste of that.

I don't understand why people are having trouble understanding MF, she is an adc that uses AD AND AP TOGETHER to counter lots of things.

Her passive is janky, goodbye worst passive ashe, MF your the new one... also REMOVE MINIONS BREAKING IT FFS, only cannon, supers, item 3060 upgraded ones, champs, and all large neutral monsters break it, it would be so much better if minion 3,596,532 didn't shoot one pew at me and stop me from AA or Q'ing the enemy on 10 hp.

The main thing here is her q rework IS SO NICE, low back line minion, BOOM ricochet, took 1/4 of a nami @ lvl 1

w.... people call it an underwhelming AS steroid.... technially with it now, it is a mini draven w, without hard MS boost but strut active, and dravens AS boost is 40 at max vs MF @ 60. Also the fact that she deals bonus magic damage, it makes tank supports useless as normally they build ARMOR only to live, but then magic damage starts stacking on her AA and there widdled away before you know it.

Her E is lack luster i do feel, having it become straight ad would be a BLESSING. there isn't a reason to upgrade it anywhere but last as your q is best lane poke and damage, while w melts towers later on.

Then her ult :/ it's.... decent? it really isn't hard to dodge or just walk out of... it'd be nice if they had some slow to it or something, cus her E does, but bullets coming AT you in waves doesn't slow, but if they come from the sky they do.... make sense of that one for me please...

In all though, her kit is an odd one, that confuses people due to her damage being ADC but hides a surprising amount of ap damage in it as well, and that's why i like her as a champ, supports have to build both mr and armor to stop me where supports usually only focus on one type and then minors in the other for late game.

I don't think anybody is confused. Most of MF's damage still comes from her attack damage.

NEED ANYTHING ELSE BE SAID?

I never said they went mid as mixed, and no one builds mixed ap and ad items... The point is that they carry magic damage regardless of their build. MF can build AD and gain magic damage, so you can't just build armor against her. If you build just armor her magic damage will still hurt. MF can be brought out in a game where you have mid and top playing AD, and she can add in magic damage through her normal build.

Ralantha2 votes

I miss grievous wounds.... there's no healing debuff except Morello's, executioner's is gone and when it comes to late game, the GW didn't matter, but since MF lacked a dash or real disengage, it did help with early games againt the healing/poke comps that are so prevalent. It was also something with a cooldown and cost mana, so it's not as if it was spammed. RIP MF.

THIS WAS LITERALLY THE ONLY REASON I PLAYED MF NOW NO AD CHAMP CAN DO GRIEVOUS WOUNDS WITHOUT IGNITE

This Rework is somewhat reminiscent of Veigar's. Nerfs with buffs to compensate. What she needed was: to make her passive minion proof and or similar to vaynes or sivirs Make her Q serve some purpose in teamfights NOT TOUCH HER W Lower the ap scaling and base on her E so the cost goes down Make her ult do double damage at max stacks 5/6/7. OP? Think of Lucian and Galio. Galio stands still and channels,Lucian does 4k damage. Less AP ratios, honestly. No one is gonna play Mage Fortune... ... ... Idea Happening

Not: Unchanged passive. A smaller ratio with bigger, far more predictable damage GW removal with her, still cancellable passive

Gonna play her a lot less now? Her W was 100% of what made her different from other adcs, with stacking magic damage that rewards sticking to a champ, and GW,combined to outtrade other ADCs.

THIS WAS LITERALLY THE ONLY REASON I PLAYED MF

Well, that is definitely something that needed to be fixed.

Not just because GW is a bad, overly binary mechanic that makes certain abilities/champions have to have their base level of power be OP because otherwise they'll be complete crap when GW is around (Mundo and Swain ults in particular).

But also because it is a really, really shitty identity for a champion to have. "This champion can only be picked as a counter to a few specific others, because their kit isn't strong enough to be viable if they're not literally halving the effectiveness of their opponent's abilities".

Removing GW is what will allow them to buff MF to stronger levels without having her completely remove people like Soraka (who actually ISN'T OP without GW, instead, she's just terrible when someone does have it) from the game. Counterpicking needs to have limits to how effective it is.

The removal of GW from MF is part of Riot's overall campaign to remove GW from the game completely (they might leave in Ignite, but I hope they don't), and I for one can't wait for them to be finished with it.

P.S. It's interesting that they considered giving her a much stronger W steroid and then reverted it. How OP was that version of MF? How strong does Riot think the current live MF is? And are they right? Stats websites seem to show that she actually does win games, on this patch. Are people underestimating the value of early bullying that leads to turrets and dragons that snowball your whole team?

I'm still winning games with her in normals and ranked. People make her out to be the worst adc ever when given she's not in the best state compared to others, she isn't in the worst either. I understand why they removed grievous wounds from her W and I hope they get around to the others champions that still have it too. However they did not compensate enough for removing it. They nerfed her q angle down to 60 from 100 and never added in the steroid buff like you mentioned. Her W having the passive reactivated is a great thing for escaping (if you aren't running into minions) but when you want to chase someone down, like a bounty hunter does, it immediately gets removed after one minion attack. This has been something asked for by basically all MF players having minion damage not deactivate it after a certain level or other suggestions of the sorts.
