Instead of fixing Talon's [E] bug, why not add it as a mechanic?

Wukong Airlines··26 votes·12,480 views

I won't explain again what's the [E] bug because this thread already did https://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/gameplay-balance/YRvUI30o-now-that-ive-been-playing-talon-again

But why not keep it as a mechanic? it allows you to outplay champions/skillshots if used properly, I had a replay which the [E] bug allowed me to dodge Ezreal's Ulti, I'll try to find it and upload it, but it was all luck ofc, and I felt like it could be put to use.

Why not add [while the key is held down, talon will jump backwards/ will backflip] ? this type of mechanic is already in the game [[Warwick's Q]] , so why not use it on Talon?

We all know how keeping unintended mechanics works out in the end Riven

Mordekaiser?

Sorry, I'm dumb. What unintended mechanic did they keep for Morde? ( I legit don't fkin know )

Arakadia4 votes

Nah your fine. I should have elaborated but I was on mobile.

I was just joking cause Morde has many unintended bugs that are kept but don't help him.

Just fine unless you are bad?

If we wanna talk about gamebreaking mechanics talk about Ez and Tristana and their CC free pass spells.

because the mechanic is busted on WW and it would probs be just as busted if not more on Talon. WW's Q hold out playing Flash probs shouldn't be in the game... considering how often WW players do it on accident because the kit is super strong and super easy to play. he pretty much has 2 damage skills until level 6 (the other one is a nice passive and move speed and attack speed at low hp but no real damage) and he can out damage a shit load of people early. something seems fishy about that too! Maybe avoid making comparisons to make them similar to known busted champions. WW has be receiving a lot of negative attention for his high win rate and overall extremely easy play style compare to how rewarding it is playing so safe.

I don't think you are quite getting what he means. He means that if he holds down E, it changes what his E will do, from the flip over wall, to backflip off of the wall, similar to how Warwick can hold Q to make it follow enemies as well, or just quick release it for the quick damage and gap closer.

thats like taking his parkour to the extreme

I was referring to how Warwick's [Q] is coded, I wasn't talking about what advantages it offers. I want Talon to have the same kind of mechanic and to be able to use the jump in a more dimensional way, rather than to having it be fixed from point A--->B

Shiznyte1 votes

my bad i thought you were talkin about holding down the Q for lunge to make sure you can control melee q

Modl Ryden l2 votes

Bring back Cutthroat.

Wukong Airlines3 votes

No chance of getting that back at all. I'd rather have the old Rake [W] back if you ask me, would make Talon much more easier to play, and more satisfying.

Old Rake+ Current Passive+ Current Q would be excessively strong

Remove the crit on melee q and we call it even?

If he's going to have the best map mobility tool outside of Quinn's ult, then there should be a drawback in that he has to commit to jumping instead of cancelling it mid hop when realizing it may not be a good idea to go in.

Fix the bug, don't let him cancel out of it.

Spice POWAH1 votes

If you're talking about live talon, he can't cancel it mid hop unless he gets cc'd, but if you're talking about the proposed bug mechanic, OP means while you're running towards the wall you can hold down the key to backflip instead of going over. Like warwick Q. He doesn't mean being able to go backwards after jumping over the wall.

Ionian Vulpix1 votes

I know. I don't think he needs any more mobility though.

Superspick1 votes

I dunno i don't think he's got any nobility at all really, since he was basically raised as a gutter rat.

Blåbæret2 votes

Talon rework should just be reverted. He feels like shit to play, especially thanks to the E change which no one asked for.

Spice POWAH2 votes

I'd love this, then his E could actually be useful in lane!

Could make for some cool looking turnarounds too.

As funny as it'd be I'd rather see wall coding fixed.

Potato Doc1 votes

Thats actually a really cool effect and since you dont traverse the wall fully it could cut the CD by a part

Mokuto Bunshi1 votes

I like it, good idea.

Penta Penguin1 votes

the intent of talon is that he can jump -over- walls, giving him a vault away from walls is a whole new power level

I think the current way is that they can't control the direction the E is; sometimes it'll flip backwards and sometimes it goes forwards. That being said, it's difficult enough to make it go in one direction, much less both.

While that E change is a buff to Talon, it's not the area that he needs buffs in.

I'm fairly confident that Talon already has enough escape as is in-between his super short CD ult and constant (unreliable) parkouring; he doesn't need more juking.
