Jinx's Switcheroo

It's kind of cool that she can just switch her auto attack pattern without switching her entire fucking kit like other champions we know. LeeSin Nidalee Elise Jayce

It's kind of cool how a champion that has an extra ability over everyone else can actually be mostly balanced as long as she isn't touched(she was pretty OP a little over a month ago but before that, she was fine.).

I kind of want to see more form changing that's simple like that instead of overloaded as fuck, kled and jinx's way's switching their kit's, where it's only really one extra ability is really nice and so far they haven't really been broken or had extremely bad balance issues.

Can we get more of that riot? And on a side note, the master at arms(Jax) should be able to switch his auto attack pattern, it might work well for him in a future rework, atleast thematically.

I think ones blind but i'm not sure....

Lee Sin has no transformation.

Zerenza2 votes

It isn't about just the transformation, it's about the problem's his 7 ability kit causes, balance problems up the wazoo have arisen from champions like him. Even now he's a major balance problem with his 40+ playrate and 50+ winrate.

Nidalee has to be nerfed to oblivion just to keep her in line, the same can and should be said about the others.

While I agree Lee is blatantly too strong by the stats.

That isn't how it works. His Q is one ability. Like Thresh's Q it has two parts, the skillshot to determine if you can dash to them and then the dash to them. In fact Thresh's has more utility. On the offset Lee's has more damage.

His E could easily do both it's effects on one push. Making it two only adds a slight delay. Riot is welcome to break Lee by combining the initual damage and the slows.

His W is literally just one ability. It dashes to an ally and shields, providing lifesteal. That is all it does. He himself is targetable but of course then he gets no dash.

His ult is just the kick.

Nothing transforms he doesn't get additional abilities at all like a transforming champion.

Mixed the W and E :/

My bad. I don't play him. Only play him every so often so like any champion I know his ranges.

I agree with this, out of all of Lee's two-part abilities, his Q is pretty much the only one that offers a truly interesting choice besides the resource management (and even then, I'd argue it's a choice Lee doesn't really need). His W and E could easily be combined into dash + shield + sustain and PBAoE damage + slow abilities respectively and retain pretty much the exact same gameplay, and I'd say making him auto-dash to wherever his Q hits, and thereby forcing him to commit to fights instead of poking at little to no cost, would also remove some strengths he doesn't need and allow him to have more concentrated power elsewhere.

I also think resuming Lee's two-parter abilities to single ones does a very good job of showing how he's still overloaded: he really doesn't need innate life steal or spell vamp, for example, but has it because otherwise he wouldn't have a second component to his W. I also personally feel a PBAoE slow on him is fine, but the damage component itself is not interesting, and gives him low-counterplay burst that he doesn't need. Removing his W healing and E damage could refocus him into a utility-heavy diver, rather than the do-it-all fighter/assassin that he currently is, and allow him to be much stronger at the things he'd then get to do.

I slightly disagree. His skillshot still deals damage and applies reveal. Thought dashing does the extra execute and it's not like majority of his kill potential was from sniping, his original Q and extra Q and separate linked abilities. Original Q still has the reveal and damage, working as ability on its own, extra Q has the dash and damage, working also as ability on its own.

I agree that Lee Sin doesn't belong in the bad-switch list, but I percieve Q as two abilities on their own.

EDIT: To note, both damage instances are decent, making them very well work as two instances of damage, since one argument could be that the damage factor still makes it that to apply real damage of one ability he must dash anyway.

There are a few advantages to spacing your abilities as Lee. If you do he basically never runs out of energy and has a permanent 40%?? Attack speed boost.

Erm, she doesn't really have an extra ability over everyone else unlike the champions you listed though. If you see her minigun as her "normal" auto attack, then she has a Q ability for AoE auto attacks. Still just 1 ability, she doesn't have more than anyone else in this game.

Yeah it's more like half an ability mixed with a passive if anything.

Jinx along with several other ADC's a couple months ago was very OP due to a couple buffs and bad item balancing on riots part.

Not quite, there was 1 patch when crit ADs were the meta, right before the Lethality buff. Although i dont remember Jinx being OP with them it was pretty much Vayne and Twitch with Caitlyn every once and a while.

I think it was right before that, with triple crit Jinx being incredibly strong.

Season 5

Fondling Gems1 votes

I mean she was pretty strong back in late season 5 IIRC, might have the exact time wrong though. It was the alternate option to protect the kog comps. She did pretty well against tanks at the time because tanks had less damage than now and damage as a whole came out slower so her lifesteal, range, and attack speed kept her alive in more situations than most ADC's despite her lacking mobility. Her AOE auto attacks and traps also made her combo well with wombo squads like Sej and Ori who were pretty prevalent at the time.

She could also farm up vs enemy Kog's and bully them as well as almost match their range late game and hurt their protect the kog comps since they liked to cluster up.

She was the 1st to second most picked ADC at the time with a high winrate. Not sure if that qualifies as OP but definitely the strongest ADC around.

Of course OP isn't referring to that time.

Kled doesn't really switch his kit... He's forced into a sub-par version of himself.

That said it's still a great mechanic and if used properly can be, and is often in the right hands, used to great advantage. I wouldn't throw it in the same boat as Jinx who is basically just Presses a button for: "If you can hit more than one person use rockets, if not machine gun"

I often fantasize about Graves getting a similar mechanic for his shotgun. Instead of his dash just reloading a bullet it switches his bullet type. Going from buckshot to slugs and vice versa allowing different bullet types for him depending on what he needs.

But alas it's just a fantasy :(

people are so quick to forget what a balancing mess jinx had been before this season. pretty close to a 40% pickrate with 54% win rate at multiple times since her release.

I would agree with you, but the crit on Jinx's rockets needs to be nerfed or removed. That's the one thing that makes her OP.

Jinx has been OP a few times since release but usually when stuff like Lucian/Draven/Caitlyn are weak.
