Could the Meditation mastery work like Perseverance and grant base mana gen rather than %?

The Perseverance mastery gives Base Health regen so why is Meditation based on a % of missing mana?

I think it should be 50% base mana gen increased to 100% depending on current mana % rather than based on max mana.

This would make it more viable to a lot more champions who don't build any mana items.

Edit:

As mentioned to me that mana gen at lvl 1 is too strong so Perhaps a scaling version would work(25%-100% lvl 1-18)

Double Edit:

I've been going about it the wrong way, There is no reason a 3rd mastery could not be added while keeping the others in that Tier.

Yup yup I like it.

Because that's not the point of it. The point is not to be a catch all mana sustain mastery. The point of the meditation mastery is to make operating at low mana less dangerous and give a boost to champions that build flat mana items but not regen. Notice how Meditation is right next to Merciless? There's a reason that they're together: because both of them are only situationally useful. Your suggestion is basically worth 2 fairy charms at 50% or 4 of them at 100%, that's 250 and 500 gold worth of free stats. Early game, that's an insane amount of mana and Meditation would be mandatory on every single mana champion.

That would give a tad too much mana regen. An extra 50-100% bonus to mana regen early game is too strong as previously stated. Learning how to manage your mana is a challenge people have to deal with.

While percentages work with higher numbers, mana stackers and non - mana stackers will still take the same amount of time for their mana to refill to a certain percentage with the meditation mastery.

Disregarding levels, Veigar's passive, and the different mana regen values of champions:

It would take the same amount of time for a champion with 0/300 mana to get 150 as it would take a champion with 0/1000 mana to get 500 with the meditation mastery.

Increased base mana regeneration doesn't benefit champions equally as much as % missing either.

Janna has 11.5 mana regeneration at level 1. Ryze has 5 mana regeneration at level 1. A 50% base increase would benefit Janna much more than Ryze compared to % missing mana regeneration, which benefits them equally.

An increased base mana regen is only equal to champions that have the same amount of mana regeneration. Soraka Sona Nami Janna would benefit the same from % base mana regen, but Brand and Sion wouldn't compared to them, but would compared to each other.

Hey I agree that makes sense but still doesn't completely refute my dispute.

Perhaps the base mana gen could scale with levels(25%-100% lvl 1-18), this would prevent the op early sustain as you both mentioned while allowing more champions to make use of it.

Sheesh man, took 94 centuries. As long as there are checks and balances in place to keep things from being overbearing (scaling with levels like you said), it's fine.
