Nerfing champs that abuse Lethality does nothing
If you nerf the best champs on Lethality, then it will just cause another champion that can use it well to be better and people will just move on to that one instead.

We haven't seen them YET taking the spotlight but:

Are very strong contenders for "Next lethality abuser".
I wonder how long it will take people to realize that full lethality
mid is ridiculous.
It doesn't have to be mid. It absolutely pops squishies and hurts tank very hard up top.
It's made even more awful by the fact that combining his invisibility on W, Youmuus speed boost and Duskblade passive he acts like an assassin. Fully 100-0ing squishies.
If you want some quick elo, grab up lethality Wuk.
I much prefer him mid to top, gives him stronger roaming ability and he has a better chance at killing the opposing laner. But yes with duskblade and his W he gets absurd damage.

not very long. I've played against it. Only two options you have to beating that SoB. Play invis vs invis, because there is not counterplaying his W E Q combo. You can't see it coming unless he does it in your face. The second being, be a tank mid that says no to dashes because fuck this guy.
Actually I've seen quite some lethality Jarvans already, they did insane damage holy moly
Problem is most of those champions were already pretty strong before
were all doing extremely well before lethality even existed
varus, talon, etc. eh, maybe not as much. but all the meta lethality abusers were most definitely already in need of nerfs before this lethality shitshow
tired of seeing these threads because there's a jhin main behind every one sweating that his champ might actually finally get nerfed
All those champions were definitely strong before lethality buffs. With Graves, MF, and Quinn being potentially lesser known or talked about less. But OP has a point, after those champs get nerfed we'll just get new ones to abuse lethality.
'if we nerf those champions there will just be new op champions'
so does that mean we shouldn't nerf op champions, because that might mean the meta will shift and other champions will be op?
great logic
No. We should nerf lethality first, see where champions are after that, then see what needs to be done. I'm against indirect nerfs to a problem completely, and would prefer a more direct approach. Not that what Riot is doing doesn't work, but it may not be the most efficient way of dealing with the situation.
but then his point stands
those champions already needed a nerf with or without lethality being strong so it should just happen
and with lehtality weaker those other champions wouldn't be as problematic and could always be nerfed just as easy
It's the better decision.
Riot has stated they're fine with Lethality and it's power curve. Making the champions that are too strong with it weaker addresses their strength without nerfing everyone who isn't out of line
and edge of night is being nerfed too
That didn't happen this last patch. Soooo. Obviously they know that.

Read PBE thx
From what it looks like, they're also nerfing the rest of the broken lethality items. What I think you're talking about is the quinn talon and varus nerfs, and seeing as how they were all strong before the lethality buffs anyways, they were bound to get nerfed regardless. thx
he has a point, these champs were sleeper picks just waiting for the right meta, they didn't get nerfed out, they faded out
Talon was strong before lethality. kek.
All they had to do was tone down lethality to 50% upfront penetration and change the armor penetration formula to apply lethality BEFORE Last Whisper %pen.
But no, let's bandaid fix the biggest outliers, so that a few months down the line Lethality is finally nerfed and those champs are left in the dumpster.
I've been playing since season 3 and Riot has ALWAYS done this. After so many years they STILL don't learn.
nerf BOTH and any potentially broken sheit also
