For this, I'm fishing for opinions. If someone spams laughter all game, is it a reportable offense?

It's annoying yes, but I severely doubt it is. Why would riot throw in that in the game if it was?

If it gets to the point that you feel it affects your performance in game, you can mute the person and the laughing will be muted. The animation will still go through, though.

Exactly, if this was against the rules, doing any thing that may throw someone off would be, then we get people being reported for saying "WEE-WOO WEE-WOO WEE-WOO" in all chat when they rush into a lane as Soraka to help, and i don't know about you guys, but i don't want to live in a world where the Banambulance is not allowed,

I don't care which team the Ezreal is on, I love laning against or with someone spamming that.

Go ahead and report it. It's poor sportsmanship and against the Summoner's Code, so it's not like there isn't a reason to do so. I can't say that anything will particularly be done in specific by Riot, but it will likely at least count against them to some extent as there seem to be a roughly 1 to 1 correlation with that player being a D-bag kiddie in many other areas in game as well.

"When I see someone spam laugh my first instinct is to do as much damage to them as possible and make them pay." So we agree that it is provoking behaviour. Such behaviour is considered unsportsmanlike and is banned by many other sports organizations as well Riot Games. Further the reasoning and attitude of it is against the Summoner's Code and is banned.

It being an in game function does not allow the abuse of it, this is also Riot's opinion towards it. See also: pings, allchat.

Dude, what can I tell you here? That's not just me repeating myself? Other than:

A. It's most usually _not _ done to "provoke friendly competition". B. Strictly by Riot's definition, it is reportable. Based on the fact that they have taken said reports and banned people for it. Since it's unsportsmanlike and violates Summoner's Code and all.

You mean: Why are they even there in the first place if you are not allowed to abuse them? Like I already wrote, for the same reasons as all the other features like pings and chat: There's a difference between using something and abusing it.

"Please find the information backing ... yada yada yada" DUDE. I already said Summoner's Code, it falls in line with everything Riot's said about player behavior, and read this very thread you are writing in for heaven's sake, it's cited about three posts above you!

i think every now and then pressing laugh or Taunt can give the game a feel of a personal vendetta, which gives a massive satisfaction by killing them

you miss a skillshot they laugh wait for cooldown all in them laugh while standing on top of their corps their jungler kills you because you're too low from that all in

atleast you got the last laugh

but not to the point spamming laugh, so i'm against spamming it, it's just low to do so

IcyPepper2 votes

atleast you got the last laugh

But what if the jungler spams laugh on top of your corpse.

And they are robot Nunu.

NazZomLord3 votes

The only 4 champs that can do it are Blitzcrank Heimerdinger Teemo Singed For obvious reasons

How the actual f*ck can you forget Shaco or Nunu?

You remembered four satans, but forgot the devils of the jungle?

NazZomLord1 votes

because they are a tier all their own, i cant speak about in public or i fear that i will be shot

TeemoJenkins2 votes

You can report, but it won't do anything as there's no chat log to support it. Muting them mutes their emotes from what I understand, never tested it.

Junsui Aoi1 votes

I can confirm this work ^

Double confirm

I think riot needs a report for spam. Cause hearing "you belong in a museum" and the blitzcrank laugh all game can be quite annoying. Thankfully, there's the mute button. Unless they're on your team. Then you have to choose between communication while being annoyed, or peace and quite with less communication.

Strawberrycocoa2 votes

I dunno, emote spam is fun to throw back at them too. They spam laugh, you dance, they throw a stun on you, you call them dicks in All Chat, everyone laughs, you suppress the rage into a hot little bubble of hate in your belly that speaks in the back of your head to commit satanic murders in the name of Rito, life goes on.

FHMarshy2 votes

I say no. There really isn't anything that is offensive there. i mean, it is a feature designed by Riot. What if I find someone auto attacking all game is offensive? Do we report all ADCs??

mvargus1 votes

Why?

I won't say that its good sportsmanship, but its not actually abusive in anyway. In general when someone does this in a game I'm playing I just quietly wonder how long they have been saying "do you want fries with that?" at their job and then ignore their antics.

The thing you have to remember is that the truly good players aren't going to be quite that pathetic and attention-seeking. They will be playing to win. If you do run into someone trying to mock you, it almost always means they suffer from a severe lack of self esteem and belief in their abilities.

Colgate Gator1 votes

While it can get a bit annoying, I believe it's an overreaction to report them for such.

If it's specially grating you can always mute characters' quotes in the audio sliders, it isn't like you'd be missing much, to be honest.

Now, when a teammate decides to spam pings all over even/specially if you ask them to cool down on the ping button...

The Whamboozler1 votes

There is an option to report for spamming. Pity that reporting people doesn't really DO anything.

DarthSpectrum1 votes

I don't believe so.

Even some Rioters spam laugh whenever they can. (They aren't necessarily doing anything annoying besides spamming laugh.)

atomicwit1 votes

It is merely a game's function and is not reportable. It can be annoying though.

It can be, but it depends. I had a neon strike vi spam her back animation while walking to krugs, and continue to do so until they spawned. You can't mute that shit either. It's honestly aggravating.

I the big decider is who you're laughing at. It's perfectly valid to use it to help tilt your lane opponent, however, if your teammates ask you to stop, I don't suggest telling them to mute you instead of listening.

As far as chat logs are concerned, Riot can feasibly see every input you made during your game. This likely includes taunts. They most certainly keep very detailed analytics of their games.

Yes it is. Its called spamming. If some one is just spamming chat over and over about the same stuff it can be reported because they are not using chat correctly.

Shroom Junkie1 votes

Lmao, no. xD But it'd be funny if it were though. :3

Magic Mo1 votes

No.

Sorry, but you're a colossal idiot or 10 years old (in which case you shouldn't be playing this game) if you're offended by laughter. It's okay to be severely annoyed but being annoying isn't a reportable offense.

RisenDarkKnight1 votes

Yes there is little more annoying than an enemy laner who spams laugh everytime you miss a skillshot tor they get a kill.

Surr20plz1 votes

It's not reportable.

Go outside if it bothers you.

straight4free1 votes

It is. I'll have to dig around but I remember people getting banned for this, coming to the forums and being told off.

Oh damn, it's in the old forums. Don't know if I'll ever find it.

KidKaiser1 votes

it's part of da taunt.

taunt your enemys. make them tilt. and abuse their mistakes.

it's a vile thing to do. but if it works. it works. you win rite?! RITE?! R.I.T.E.!/.?!

lDontLiftIcarry1 votes

being BM isn't reportable. Being toxic is. Learn to tell the difference, riot won't ban BMing.

Trídent1 votes

People use spam-laughing as a try-hard strategy sometimes

BigPooStorm1 votes

Riot implemented in the game, so why should you be reported for using something that Riot put in the game intentionally for you to use?
