On the rune sale and the talked about rune rework

With the season 5 starting, we have a 2 for 1 rune page sale, as well as 30% off of T3 runes, starting on January 22nd.

That's incredibly exciting, I've been waiting months for a rune page sale and the rune discount is an added bonus!

Then I got to thinking, hasn't Riot mentioned that they want a rune system rework?

My original intention (before seeing the 30% T3 rune discount) was to buy a 2-for-1 rune page for 6300 IP and get 3 attack speed quints to get myself a true adc page, as well as 9 armor marks to get a true tank page. After seeing the 30% discount, I figure since I haven't seen this since I started in April (and hadn't heard word about it otherwise), I'm going to take full advantage. I'm looking now at buying 4 rune pages, for 6300 IP and 590 RP. Then buying those AS quints and armor marks, as well as finally getting health seals, probably armor quints, and then maybe AP quints or CDR glyphs or some physical pen marks.

What I'm afraid of though, is spending something like 15k IP on this (and I'm very IP poor since I've only played for 8 months and want a lot of champions still) and spending some RP on this, and then having it not even last a season. I'd HATE to see a rune rework period as I actually love the system, but at least if I'm going to spend several months worth of IP and some real-money I'd expect the runes I buy to last for at least a full season.

Any info?
