Fist Timing A Champ In Ranked

Now Im not talking about using a champ that you know how to play in a ranked game for the 1st time. I'm talking about these people who for the very 1st time ever playing the champ decide they want to learn the champ in a ranked game.

I know there are some few occasions where someone might 1st time a champ they have never played before in a ranked game and have a good game. But from my experience over the past couple years the large majority of the people that do this, that is not the case. And they end up playing a large role in the team not winning.

I think at the least it should be considered assisting enemy team because I do not see how doing this is the best thing to do to help your own team.

People could easily just not let it be known that they have never played the champ before so I think there should be a system in place where the game will not even let you pick a champion that you do not have a certain amount of games played with for ranked. Even if its just 5 games.......enough to have some clue of what your champ does. So that you don't end up sitting at the fountain forever wondering what to buy or sitting under your tower trying to read how each of your abilities work.

Or so that it does not prevent people from being able to trade champs during champ selection it could be set up where a player can pick the champ so that they can trade it a teammate. But if they do not before game starts then that player is kicked as if he dodged and everyone just goes back into que.

Just want to get others opinion on this.

If a person unlocked champion with his hard work(earning IP) or his money (RP) its his right to play him in any mode he wants. Limit cant be put. Also ranked is best way to learn and improve with champion, even first time, because pressured , fast paced game forces u into learning. Also opponents are more proficient playing against that champ on that lane, so u will discover its weaknesses faster. Winning isnt most important goal in games for many people. Even tho u disagree with that, there is nothing wrong with it. If a person enjoys trying new champs in competitive environment its his choice.

What harm is there to play a few normal que games to learn your champ?

And for the people who do not care about winning most of them im sure play normal que and do not play ranked.

I play ranked because im competitive, When i play the game i play to win. I can have fun in any game mode so yeah I play to have fun too. And being on a team with someone that has no clue how their champ works and is single handily causeing you to lose is absolutely no fun.

Normal is fun mode for messing arround, building AP zed, Tank Janna and stuff like that. How can u improve in normal if matchmaking is different? You will never be matched against players of same/similar skill. Look at it like chess. Put a 7 year old child who never saw chess in his life, and play against him. You win. Did you improve? Not at all.

I never said the games are for them to improve or that they have to be a pro with their champ. It is so they know how their champ works. How to build their champ.

I can deal with a player who had a bad game or maybe just is not good. Im far from the best player. But you will never see me 1st time a champ i know nothing about in ranked.

To intentionally use a champ for the 1st time in ranked where most are there to not only have fun but to win is just inconsiderate and selfish. And hurts your team more than it helps.

Whenever i want to learn a champ i never used I usually que up a bot game. The in game descriptions of the abilities are different from what you read and see in their bios. After the bot game ill go to norms. Now for me i wont use that champ in ranked until i feel like im at least decent with them.

But even if someone played 5 games and bombed each one......thats better than coming in completely clueless.

I have a feeling you are referring to me being in B3? Which has absolutely nothing to do with this topic.

So when people go that route its only because they know what they are saying holds no water and they try to change the subject.

So really there is nothing more to say....other than have you realized that tho not that many people have voted..... %75 of those who did vote agree it shouldn't be done and that there should be some sort of games played limit.

I didnt ask u what elo u are. I asked u how successful u were with champs using bots/normal/ranked tactic? For me it works very well. I lose 2-3 games on start then i start winning.

I dont think there should be a MANDATORY experience limit (i.e. keep Riot out of it) but, assuming the player wants to win, it's just a generally bad idea to first time a champ in ranked. Unless your b5, then who cares.

I think the person who is in B5 in their series might care. Everyone starts somewhere. And with trolls and intent feeders its hard enough moving up and you cant control them. This is something that can be directly controlled. Even if it was 1 game against bots...just know something.
