Let's talk about 8.13 snowball changes
Some of the tactics we're looking at:
- Re-introducing the bounty on 2 kills and potentially a small increase to bounties 3 and above.
- Early death timer reductions from levels 1-7, while keeping an eye on what this does to teleport summoner.
- Outer turret global gold reduction 100 to 50.
Although I think those changes are great, I'm asking myself about some of those points and the impact they'll have once they hit live.
Let's talk about them one by one.
**1) The current bounty is lower than the older one, but it gives more gold on one specific champion. **
Increasing the amount of gold seem legit, as gaining an extra 200 gold is often not enough, and it's inefficient beyond 200 bonus golds (3 kill streak).
Killing someone with an 5+ kills streak feels bad, as it grants little to no amount more gold than killing someone with a 3 kills streak and still reset the whole streak.
**2) Great, but a bit dangerous for proxy strategy as well as "delay tactics". **
You can grab a kill, then if you don't disengage from the fight immediately you'll get disadvantged by the fact that the guy you just killed can come back up into the same fight.
We don't have any value though, so I can't tell more about it. Giving a speed buff boost, AKA Homeguard, from the very start of the game seems a viable option too.
3) That's the most ambiguous one to me.
If your intent is to really reduce early snowball, why not reduce first turret gold ? You just make first turret gold, and the champion(s) that take it, much more important than before, which combined with 1) (the increase of bounty kill golds) will make one champion of a team much quicker a MVP.
(I'm talking about the shares of golds that are alocated to each champion to one another, even if you reduce the global gold in the game, which theoretically reduce the over-all snowball of a game, if you shake up the shares too heavily you can still create more snowball than before through imbalance of power allocation)
So for me, although those changes are great for the most part, they will certainly pull the "one super carry" style even further beyond, which has an really high amount of chance of leading to more snowballing into the game.
With love for you company, your game,
