Why is Camille ult not QSS-able?

Zero Skill Tank··5 votes·16,209 views

It's clearly a crowd control ability, not a debuff, it restricts your movement.

It's even more of a crowd control than some qss-able abilities, like nearsight and blind.

And inb4 someone types that - no, "melee" and "ultimate" aren't any arguments here.

First of all, it's the same logic they used for removing QSS on Zed, Trundle, and Fiora's ultimate. They don't want one item to single-handedly counter an entire ultimate.

Second of all, it's not CC. You are free to move, attack, use abilities, and do whatever else you want. You are not CC'd when you hit the edge of the walls. It is simply terrain. You cannot just walk across terrain. Hence, you cannot walk across.

This is pretty accurate. Think of it this way. You cant qss a j4 ultimate. so i why would you be able to QSS this. Its essentially a temporary terrain, this of it as a really thick wall. You cant flash it, you cant dash it, and you cant blink it.

Like a one-way Bard tunnel.

While yes, that's how you should see it, does she really need that ult? I mean, her kit is fairly overloaded considering she has mobility, damage steroid, an insane CC and a shield based on the enemies source of dmg.

She's a mobile AD duelist. She is going to have an overloaded kit to compensate for her skill curve. Not to mention hard cc counters her just as badly as any other champ in that class. Her CC isn't realllly that insane. its a stun, thats a skill shot that requires are wall to function It strong yes but its not god tier. unless you are talking about her W in which case thats hardly cc, its basically just a tool for lane harass and sustain. The slow is nice but its not unfair to play against. The shield is good and bad. In teamfights (if the enemy isnt full AD or AP) its only going to block around half the damage that is pumped out. She'll take full damage from the other type. Its not as good as a Vi shield that blocks all damage equal to 10% of her max health. The mobility is nice but lots of champs have that. and the damage and atk speed steroid is strong and is probably the "Overloaded" part of her kit. But without that she doesnt really have much else.

Jarvan ult creates temporary terrain. It does nothing to restrict your control of a champion - you can ignore that terrain with any means provided by your kit.

Camille does ult prevents you from flashing/dashing/blinking away. That's a movement restriction that should be qqs-able.

If Jarvan's ultimate had 1000 unit thick walls, it would behave like Camille's ultimate.

JRobin311 votes

Camille ult stops teleport though... so even if Jarvan's wall were 1000 units thick, it still wouldn't do the same thing as Camille's ult.

Camille's ult is like the ring that stops a champion form leaving base during the first seconds of the game.

DrCyanide1 votes

Not completely like the base ring, since I think you can start channeling Teleport while it's up. Regardless, I don't think the base ring would be considered "cc".

As much as I don't like Camille's current state, I don't think QSS should remove her ult. I would rather see her not become untargetable while she's casting her ult, since Unstoppable would do just fine.

Its like Cassiopeia grounded debuff except without the slow. You cant QSS or Cleanse a Cass miasma. Why would you be able to Qss a camille ult? Camilles ult is a j4 ult with a Cassio W inside it. Seems pretty understandable that you cant Qss it.

But a cass w wouldn't fill in the entire hole of jar and ultimate either thus you could still escape

Accept it isn't terrain. If it was terrain then she would be able to use it to stun you, but she cannot do that because it is not considered a wall. While a statement below says "It is cancelable, but qss is not the way to cancel it," this seems like a very fair statement accept it restrains your movements. If riot wants there to be actual terrain then they will put it there, but as of now, if she ults me and i cannot walk backwards with nothing that is considered terrain behind me, then that is cc. It is restraining your movements. Some people have said that it does nothing to restrain your movements as you can still dash in the area where ever you want, accept that is restraining. If i were not restrained i could dash or flash away out of the area, but I am "restrianed". Also you are not allowed to flash when ulted by her. I saw a Khazix try to jump away from her as she ulted him and he was dragged back to the center of the area, but when i tried to flash it did not drag me back into the area after i blew my flash. It simply did not allow me to flash. You cannot flash when you are charmed, snared, stunned, silenced, or feared because those restrict what you can do with your abilities. There for, her ult IS cc and I will have to disagree with you. You should be able to qss her ult as it is a form of crowd control.

They don't want one item to single-handedly counter an entire ultimate.

It was not supposed to counter debuff ultimates. There is crapton of ultimates that get removed by qss, if they are cc. Camille ult restricts your movement in a very direct way, it is than a crowd control ability.

You are free to move, attack, use abilities, and do whatever else you want.

A debuff was defined as effect that does not restrict your control of the champion. Camille's ult clearly does it.

It is simply terrain. You cannot just walk across terrain.

Nope. It does much more to restrict your movement than terrain does.

XeroMMR1 votes

Well zeds wasn't a cc anyways it's a debuff and you can qss malzahar ult it's clearly cc so the whole didn't want one item to counter a ultimate isn't good enough a reason camilles can't be qss

XeroMMR1 votes

Also it is a movement restrict to an extent since you can't move out of it however you are free to do anything else but it's not terrain either because with correct positioning I'm fairly sure you can flash over all walls and khazix can jump over all walls too

What about morde ult?

EvilMerodach2 votes

It's not cc. And they changed qss to not remove all debuffs (like zed ulti,) just cc debuffs. Also Jarven's R is not cc, and you can't qss out of that either.

Think of it like the R version of Veigar's E. As long as you stay in-bounds, it doesn't actually affect you. Plus if you or an ally has a knockback, you can cancel it, just qss isn't the way to do it.

item 3102 would block it though. But that would be a stupid item to build vs her. item 3068/item 3143 would prolly be heaviest item 'hard counters' to her ulti. Of course...don't build it on Ashe or something like that....

Oleandervine2 votes

If you want to screw Camille, be Yorick and box yourself in with W when she ults and laugh at her.

RexSaur2 votes

Because then it would have counterplay, and new champions cant have that.

Irelia Bot1 votes

Cause then it wouldn't be as effective as Caitlyn traps being placed under an enemy turret.

BeatzBoyFTW1 votes

Stun? No. Snare? No. Taunted? Definitely no.

What do they have in common? The victim is still able to freely move around the inner ring, not stay in that one unmovable position like Morgana's Q. You can try to fk up the logic as much as you want, but her ult is NOT considered a CC at all.

Shuyin1781 votes

Her ult makes a "Man up and fight me" zone, it doesn't CC or debuff you. Think of it as being caught in un-passable terrain.

Becasue Zed ult can not be QSS'd

funny enough the new morde ult is qss-able so this makes even less sense now
