Why is shield bash replacing bone plating? Why cant we have both?

There any reason for this? Now a bunch of champs just wont have anything good to pick from in that row..

I agree. They should replace that one rune that sucks and nobody takes (I forgot what it's called because it's literally useless)

The removal of Bone Plating is not related to the addition of Shield Bash. Bone Plating causes problems, and has proven challenging to balance. Many champions, especially squishy assassins, take Resolve secondary every game simply for the immense power of Bone Plating during an all-in.

If your champion doesn't have a lot of max HP for Demolish to get value, doesn't have CC for Font of Life to get value, and doesn't generate a shield for Shield Bash to get value, then perhaps they don't need to be taking Resolve as their primary rune, and should stick to taking it secondary if they really need the tankiness of other runes in the tree. There's no rule that says every row needs to have something useful for every champion. The first row of Sorcery is the same way.
