They are literally 2 entirely different champions.

i switched over to fiora a couple of days ago. every champion who uses fervor has an absolutely stupid early game right now.

the mastery is bullshit.

Funny because aside from Yasuo and Trynd, the Fervor changes are nerfs to everyone and Warlords is just a better choice atm.

they arent nerfs. they were changes.

changes from on-hit damage to bonus ad that can crit, trigger lifesteal, and factors into ad scaling abilities. they initially nerfed it due to the more difficult stacking and then reverted that nerf. now its broken on certain champions again.

Guess I'm trying it on Darius tonight.

its actually really fucking op on darius, since it stacks up by the time his passive fully stacks up. and the bleed keeps him in combat and the stacks from decaying.

every champion who builds crit, or auto attacks and has ad scalings in his kit is just absurd with it right now.

fervor in general is just busted again.

bruiser fiora is a thing again too. not many people have realized it yet. riot nerfed her bruiser build by reducing base damage in her kit and especially on her passive, and changed it to scale more with bonus ad instead. now that the ad bonus from fervor factors into all that, they basically neutralized all those changes.

It's an across the board nerf to everything. It gives 64 AD (64 damage) at 8 stacks now, it used to deal 112 damage. And abilities used to proc Fervor's up to 112 damage and refresh it and add a stack, now most abilities won't even be able to take advantage of 64 AD because not many abilities have a 100% AD scaling and they won't give a stack. You can also no longer proc it on Guinsoo, and things like Ninja Tabi will reduce the damage now.

So here is a quick rundown so you'll understand

  • Damage went from 112 every AA to 64 every AA unless it crits (128, but only Yasuo and Trynd will get high enough crit to proc it constantly)

  • It no longer adds 112 damage to abilities, instead it adds 64 * scaling (even if the scaling is 1.00 this is still almost half less damage)

  • Duration is still the same

it never added 112 damage to abilities. thats not how on hit damage works. it only added 112 damage to empowered auto attacks, and regular auto attacks.

right now, in cases for these abilities it adds 64 damage to whatever the ad scaling on the empowered auto attack is. most of these abilities scale with 100 % total ad. some scale with much higher values than 100% bonus ad.

Riven for example would get 112 flat damage on her auto attacks before. now she gets 64 damage more on auto attacks, more damage on her q, w, and ult, more shielding on her e, and more damage on her passive.

she also gets lifesteal off those 64 extra damage on auto attacks when she didnt get any for the 112 damage before.

in case of a MissFortune q it used to add 112 damage when fully stacked. now it adds 64 damage, increased by the ad scaling of her q, + what those 64 ad add to her passive, and ult. those 64 damage also contribute to lifesteal and can crit, when they didnt before.

  • Damage went from 112 every AA to 64 every AA unless it crits (128, but only Yasuo and Trynd will get high enough crit to proc it constantly)

item 3031 crits increase fervors damage contribution on auto attacks to 160

fervor wasnt actually nerfed. for many champions its power was just redistributed from auto attacks into abilities. and around 70% crit chance with an i.e. it is the same damage on auto attacks, while additionally granting lifesteal and adding to abilities.

so yea. the mastery was already busted last season and they even buffed it comparably for a lot of champions.

It specifically said in the description of Fervor of Battle that it proceed on spells every 2 or so seconds. But whatever, be stubborn and dense.

it STACKED on spell uses every 2 seconds. it didnt add its damage to it.

like, if say MasterYi was using alpha strike, it would give him 2 fervor stacks. but it wouldnt add fervors damage to alpha strike, since it was just on-hit damage that only applied to auto attacks. and alpha strike is not considered an auto attack.

now since its an ad bonus, it actually factors into alpha strikes ad scaling and increases the damage from the ability itself.

the difference between ad and on-hit damage is, that on hit damage gets added after an auto attack (and only an auto attack, and nothing else), after the total auto attack damage has been calculated. its not a part of the auto attack, and just tacked onto it, hence while fervor didnt lifesteal.

the new fervor increases the ad stat of the champion which factors into everything that scales with ad, from auto attacks with crits and lifesteal to ad scaling abilities.
