Why does Ahri get to do everything that a mid laner can do?

She's not op... just there's a reason she is basically the quintessential mid - she can kite, burst, roam, waveclear, and duel. What more could you want?

I would say she doesn't have quite as much utility as some midlaners have. She has a skillshot stun, but otherwise she's beat by utility mages.

In my opinion, she's more like a kiting assassin mage. If you ask me, if you wanted more teamfighting utility you'd pick Karma, Orianna, or even Annie.

shes a jack of all trades... but literally all trades and most things she does well. True, her teamfight utility isnt great, but e is amazing for catching out people (more relevant in low elo I guess), and her q deals high aoe damage

She definitely lacks teamwide utility (she has a little bit of self-utility, with a small heal and speed boost). That's one of the areas Ahri doesn't really have the best potential in: teamfights. Not to say with the right team and coordination she can't be good in one, but that goes for all other champs that don't have the best teamfight potential.

More CC. Ahri's CC isn't super reliable (being blocked by minions and being a single target skillshot). She's great at picking off one person, but she doesn't have the ability to lock-down or peel multiple targets, and she has no fallbacks if she misses charm.
