Just pick Nasus

The Ellimiist3 votes

The real counter. Everyone saying teemo doesn't know how little a real trynd cares about teemo ;p

TotalJerk1 votes

For one, Tryndamere's gap closer outranges Teemo's autos.

steampig1 votes

I just looked on 3 different websites to see what they say counters Tryndamere; all 3 put Teemo on the top of the list and Nasus was nowhere in sight. So that's probably why people are saying Teemo counters Tryndamere. Because they read it on the internet so it must be true.

I ignite every time his ultimate is just about to ware off but that stupid heal holy shit.. And sorry I don't like playing satan, And don't get me started on "trying to kite him" with that stupid slow and they usually build botrk.

People do realize that not every game people play is ranked? Sometimes I don't even know who I'm against until I'm actually in the game so I can't counterpick with champion/summoners.

A Miss Fortune37 votes

I don't think you realize how long 5 seconds is, 5 seconds can be entire teamfights mind you. Meanwhile Tryndamere is probably one of the heaviest single target damage output in the game due to his passive + Q passive and how well he can synergize with items. Even with this, his E and W makes it very difficult to kite him unless you're Twitch with his ult up (which actually lasts longer than Tryndamere's ult by 2 seconds thankfully).

Also remember that Tryndamere can easily disengage just as easily as he can engage. So even if he is losing, odds are he will get away without the use of hard CC.

Tryndamere is pretty broken, his ultimate alone (not his passive) is what makes him so broken. His passive actually isn't even that strong, don't get me wrong it's not weak by any means at all but people can abuse it in a lot of cases to when to engage Tryndamere or not. I think Stonewall mentioned it, but Tryndamere can't really be balanced out. His ultimate alone makes him extremely strong and if they nerf it, he will either become underpowered or they will have to compensate by buffing his other abilities which will just make him overpowered and there is no real in-between in-the-middle with Tryndamere. It's overpowered or underpowered.

Why is Tryndamere broken? Well, he will either get fed in the laning phase due to his relatively strong dueling capabilities, and if he doesn't then he won't be a huge threat and will simply split push the entire game. Even when he is split pushing, he still can 1v1 mostly any champion in the game (Not every champion in the game) due to his ult and ability to engage very easily. If the odds are however not in his favor, he can simply dash away, slow, and if you're already beating down on him he can simply ultimate away and heal up. It's really hard to have a Tryndamere in a game, because a good one will do exactly what I said. I've personally seen Tryndamere players split push so far that they got to the Nexus Turrets simply because our team couldn't back and he takes turrets and clears waves relatively fast but mainly during his mid - late game.

I would more so called Tryndamere broken than overpowered. There's many ways to shut him down, but either way he won't be totally shutdown and can still 1v1 most champions in the game. Now if you're saying a 0-10 Tryndamere is up against an 10-0 Vayne, odds are the Vayne will win. But if it's like 0-3 and 4-0, I wouldn't really be all that surprised if Tryndamere won. He's a really powerful duelist but has an enormous fall off in teamfights aside from a situational tank.

tl;dr you can't just CC Tryndamere to win and you can't shut him down really to the point where he just sits and farms till late game like a Yasuo

Thank you for actually being able to explain the actual frustration behind this champion without sounding like you don't know what you're talking about. He is one of the most frustrating champions to lane against in the entire game because no matter how hard you stomp him, he will always be relevant throughout the whole game.

A Miss Fortune6 votes

No problem, personally I ban Tryndamere (along with Cho'gath and Riven) every game simply due to how frustrating they are to play against. This is most likely because I'm a casual scrub and even though I can easily ban Sejuani or Gragas I still ban them simply due to how counter-fun they are. But I've had a lot of time to wonder "wtf am i losing to this tryn im irelia how dont i actually have a pentakill yet gg report team"

Katarina can be shutdown easy with some cc, people underestimate how easy it is to shutdown a Katarina; it is the same situation with a Fizz, cc=shutdown. The reason I know why it is so easy to be shutdown as Katarina is because i main her. One thing i sometimes do as Katarina is bring summoner 1 to remove the cc and get out of there.

The thing with swain is he will come out ahead but he doesnt have kill potential unless you get snared, which is easy to dodge. My suggestion, and I see a lot of people forget to do this because i'm at a lower elo, If you are playing against a lane that relies on skills shots, start boots or buy them on your first back. Also have that MS quint rune page on standby, it helps. Swain should be a passive lane. Give up your tower if he wins and then roam to help win bot lane and retake the mid game map control with the help of the bot lane.

NOT THE ENTIRE GAME RELIES ON THE LANING PHASE GUYS! People need to get it out of their heads that they have to win lane to win game. Tryn is strong because he doesn't have to win lane to be relevant, neither do you and that is why champions like swain and vlad aren't as strong as people give credit. (vlad is strong right now IMO)

3tyson2 votes

you really can hes squeeshy as hell and needs to build furry also once again summoner 14

A Miss Fortune4 votes

Not necessarily any argument provided? He may be squishy but his tankiness has no reflection on his ability to engage or disengage or duel anyone with a 5 second Kayle ultimate basically. Actually, his ult lasts longer than her ultimate, and can be used while CC'ed.

Ignite doesn't kill him while he ults as far as I know by the way, his ult lasts as long as the ignite duration + his ult can heal him if he's just at that last bit of health + he has a heal too.

3tyson1 votes

Dextix LT1 votes

Thats not what he thinks. Its a fact, it is even written on the skill, black on white, in english.

Mimaropa2 votes

I agree that Tryndamere is pretty annoying to play against but I think he's not broken. He's a pretty squishy champ relies on aa to kill. If you have a decent and cooperative team, you can beat him easily. If he tries to split push, your team needs to engage a siege or a teamfights since its going to be a 4v5. In laning you just need to be less aggressive since he can easily out sustain you. Just farm and wait for ganks. He's pretty weak against tanks like nasus and Mobile champs. Yes, he can 1v1 most of the champs in game but isn't there other champs that can do that like nasus(again), udyr and most champs that are suppose to be on that He has a decent disengage but there are certain champs that can still be able to chase him. Late game you can sometimes burst him or cc kill him before he could ult sometimes.

Basically, most people don't know how to play against him. You need most of your team to understand what he can do and managing lanes that's why he wrecks low elo and blind picks. I barely see him in challenger and competitives because of those reasons. He looks pretty balanced to me even though I get one of those games where he gets massively fed because he roamed and farmed like a god in lane. I'm not a tryn main and pardon my English, not my first language

Heckin Support1 votes

Yah that's because he almost never builds defensive because his 5 second cant kill me ulti saves his 9/10 times.

Ariel the Cruel1 votes

I don't mind his ult so much as his passive. I at lest know when his ult down and can work around it. It's his passive I hate most. Specifically the crit chance. Until mid game, every trade is the equivalent of flipping a coin. You never know When RNjesus is going to throw him a random double crit. And for some reason, RNjesus unreasonably favors Trynd, so he always seems to get it at least once during lane phase. I can't play around something that no one has control over. Or can even see for that matter. Though this has more to due with crit chance in general, his passive is completely infuriating.

A Miss Fortune1 votes

His passive and ult together are a nasty combo. The champion in all honesty needs a rework because he's just so counter-fun it ruins games. I mean sure not every champion in the game will be fun to play against, but Tryndamere just right clicks and you can't really do much about it.

The Bíg Ticket1 votes

Vayne should never lose to Tryndamere if they are equally fed...if she is ahead like in your example she would totally shit on him.

I'd say just pick Karma but she can't really stop him from split pushing sooooo

She just kits him until he dies, like pretty much every melee champ she faces.

A Miss Fortune3 votes

I'm actually REALLY surprised Karma isn't played against people like Vlad or Tryn, she can poke them down and still win all-ins due to her damage, mobility/shields, and snare which she can exchange and turn into a massive heal.

Actually, I'm surprised AP Karma isn't played more often in general. Her damage is probably some of the highest burst in the game on a 3 second cooldown (her mantra is like 20-ish not including her passive reduction) and even if you're behind you can still one shot squishys late game, and even if then you can't you still have crazy utility that not a whole lot of people can match.

Karma cannot poke Vladimir down. he will just sit around creeps to dodge most of her Qs. When she occasionally hits one, he can just heal it back. If she leashes him, he can just pool near the end to avoid any possible follow-up she has.

She might give him trouble pre-7, but most champs give him trouble pre-7.

A Miss Fortune1 votes

I just played Karma against Vladimir, while I won't discuss Vladimir's balance because people for whatever reason are really sensitive about that (He's overpowered, broken, and Riot admitted he should of never existed deal with it), Karma can manage him fairly well. I got a few kills on him, he got a kill or two on me with his jungler's help. But after we got our items it was pretty much worthless poke.

SlampieceHawke1 votes

I play her as support a lot. great counter to sona as you can just e your adc when you can tell sona is about to poke w/ her q. Of course you back off so that sona q only hits your shielded adc and not also yourself. And that ult e makes teamfights a breeze!

Aboylova922 votes

I really used to hate him until I started playing him. He has a lot of ways into beating his kit, and generally I find people just misplay against him. He's extremely easy to kite if you have any slows or cc (part of why Nasus is such a good pick against him), anything with a blind essentially makes him useless, although teemo isn't as big of a counter as people think, but Quinn is just hilarious to play against him. Also to really keep his damage up, he generally needs to be autoing the wave, which pushes it. This leaves him extremely exposed. While he does have his E for an escape, most junglers can still get to him no problem if they have some basic cc.

Can he be frustrating? Of course, but doing things like starting an early cloth armor into ninja tabi's REALLY hurts him. There are way more frustrating tops to play against like Riven or Irelia in my opinion.

I feel like Tryndamere is no risk pick - whatever you do on your lane, you'll always be useful for your team. With a lot of champs, when you pick them, you risk that if you fuck up, you might be useless for your team in late game. Tryndamere doesn't provide such a risk - if you win your lane, you're monster in teamfights, if you loose, you still splitpush very effectively, and while doing so, you're providing yourself items you need. No matter if you fuck up or not, you're giving your team something.

Baby Ghoul1 votes

Don't counter pick for a Tryndamere...that's very bad advice because he's easy to outplay.

Laning against him early is just an absolute pain no matter who you pick because he's a broken champion. His kit relies heavily on you being so overwhelmed by it that you make a stupid mistake early letting him kill you, so he can go on and face roll your lane, then dominate the rest of your team. It's so annoying seeing so many people in bronze/silver fall victim to that, because a fed roaming Tryndamere requires teamwork to shut down. That's in short supply where I'm at.

I hate how common he is in those leagues because the above happens so often that people pick him a lot. I rarely lose against a Tryndamere, but he's still an annoying champion I hate seeing in the game. He brings no excitement, and it's really just a boring lane.

Most champions can simply outplay him, but it requires knowing when to go in on him, and what to build. Killing him pre 6 is the best option always, because when he falls behind he become irrelevant quickly. Feast or famine and all that. A lot of people want to argue he can make a comeback, and yes he can, but that only happens if you let him which is your fault. He'll likely go on to be a burden to his teammates, and act as a shield for teammates or push your lane after you start to roam. The last part is annoying, but he won't push too far out without vision if he's smart and doesn't want to dig a bigger hole for himself. This is also what is so toxic about having in the game. He becomes problematic for one side no matter what.

item 3047 item 3075 item 3139 summoner 14 Build these items, and punish him when he goes in for CS. He needs to keep his fury bar up, so that should be rather easy to do.

why build a merc for a trynds? for that ridiculously pillow soft cc chicken head!? I mean champs like fiora can shine w/ merc if the enemy team comp has hard cc, but a merc just for a trynds? be better off w/ a item 3110 oritem 3143 depending on your cooldown needs/ enemy comp attack speed.

I do actually play Fiora top lane against him frequently, and it is a nice item to have because of the debuffs it provides. It is a great way to disengage if you don't have your flash up when he ults, not to mention it also provides a way to counter his AD debuff in your duels. item 3140 is something you want to build when you're having trouble against him at the very least.

If you're a melee ADC fighting against him, then yeah I would recommend you just go on and upgrade to item 3139 .

item 3110 is not a bad choice against him since he is auto attack based, but I feel like item 3140 item 3075 item 3047 will help you out so much more. Many top laners frequently get item 3143 , but I only rush it if someone is fed, and I don't really have trouble locking Tryndamere down for the top laners I play.

You say its best to go in on him pre-6 as the best option, Then you say to build these specific items and go in on him when he CS's. First of all, nobody pre-6 is going to have a thornmail or Mercurial, secondly, by the time you can afford those items, your not going to be squaring off in the laning phase with him anymore jockeying over CS.

It is best to go in on him pre 6, but you aren't always going to get that kill pre 6. Not every Tryndamere is going to let you kill them then, or you just might not be able to. If you don't, then you know what to build after that. Where in that post did I say you're going to have those 3 items pre 6? I don't know where you got that from, but it's pretty silly to assume that since it wasn't mentioned anywhere.

If you both manage to even, or he goes to other lanes to kill other teammates, then yes you will need to build for him. If you don't have ninja tabi around 6, then you're probably doing something wrong farming wise. Thornmail is also a pretty cheap item you can get easily.
