Nerf Lucian passive

His passive is like riven one , but better on a ranged champion. His ult also does insane damage with a stupid low CD. Can we stop pretending that his 500 range is setting him back ? Just nerf him

Lucian's passive basically gives him a Sheen proc with every spell cast (it doesn't have a cooldown). His spells act as auto resets, so it's basically like each of his spells has an extra 1.5 AD ratio That applies on hit effects and can crit. Twice. It doesn't matter that he has 50 less range since he can dash onto you and automatically win a trade with a full rotation.

On the topic of nerfing Lucian, he has a stupid amount of waveclear. His Q has no damage fall off, his passive deals full damage to minions, his ult does quadruple damage to minions. Caitlyn and Sivir are usually held up for their waveclear ability, but Caitlyn just has her Q, where Sivir has very little safety when she pushes lane, since her only mobility is an insanely long CD ultimate. Lucian with 40% CDR literally has his ult up every 30 seconds (every minion wave). For an insanely mobile lane bully with crazy dueling potential and no real weak point in the game, I don't see any reason he should have this much utility as well.

Sivir's "insanely long CD ultimate" has her ult up every 48 sec cooldown with 40% CDR... it isn't that long compared to lucian's ult

How, exactly, does Sivir manage to get 40% CDR, and how often does it happen? I've never seen an ADC go over 25% (Youmuu's/ER + CDR boots). Typically they prefer to take AtkSpd from masteries and build AD.

Lucian's ult CD: 100/75/50 Sivir's ult CD: 120/100/80 Both champions value CDR about as much (Lucian more, maybe). Comparing ADC ultimates, Sivir has a very long CD, only Miss Fortune and Twitch have larger CDs (120/110/100).

It's easy. Ghost blade, Lucidity boots, Sorcery Mastery and Blue pot/Buff. Easy.

If they really wanted CDR they could also get some cdr glyphs this could be viable for Sivir if you are good with the spell shield or against all ad teams and CDR gives Sivir more up time on her attack speed steroid from W (when she has ult)

Even with that comparison, Sivir's ult would still be 60% longer than Lucians. The point isn't even about cooldowns on ults, it's about the utility a champion has. Lucian has mobility tied to two of his spells, Sivir has one, it's just a MS buff, and on a 48 second cooldown even at max rank max CDR. A Lucian with Max CDR can literally have his dash up in two seconds with a full rotation, theoretically negative two seconds if he uses his ult.

Sure, Riot wants Lucian to be the "mobility ADC". Ignoring the flaws in that concept, why does a champion whose theme revolves around being mobile mean he also has some of the best wave clear in the entire game?

increase his mana costs. caitlyn is a lane bully do to her range, but she goes oom fairly quick. lucian can force someone out of lane and still have half or more mana.

They reduced his mana costs due to banana addiction, now he can solo mid or top because costs reduced too much.

Remeber when lucian was released and people said he sucked and his ult did no damage. Ha Ha HaLucian

Lucian is more a lane bully than any other adc and he scales; it's a bad recipe from a balance prospective.

Ezreal doesn't scale well enough Miss Fortune doesn't scale well enough Quinn doesn't scale well enough Varus is immobile Ashe is immobile Urgot is broken

The only thing I don't understand is why Draven and Sivir don't see more play.

cshakes1 votes

Draven has a very high skill requirement (axe catching) and Sivir doesn't deal well with Lucian/Tristana from what I've heard (doesn't scale hard enough, probably).

Star Warden2 votes

They aren't the same. Riven gets a boosted attack, Lucian gets 2 attacks. Doing the math on his ult, there is a Thresh hold (puns) about mid-game where his ult actually becomes worth using. Until that point it is nothing more than wave clear to defend turret. He's good because the other carries are weak, not because he is super amazing. Ezreal is nearly as strong, but more safe. Tristana is stronger, and just as safe as Ezreal.

If you can't handle Lucian in the early game, you wont win your late game. At this point you need to send your assassins to 100-o him. If they do their job, he can't do his. And if you did your job in lane of bullying him out, he can't farm and becomes pointless late game.

Got it. Lane bully Lucian early. Does that leave even two viable picks?

Ratbert2 votes

You realize that lucian's passive gives him essentially a cait headshot with 2 on hits? It's similar because it gives bonus damage on spell cast. Oh and lets outtrade a lane bully early! Does lucian even have a weak phase? An ult is always worth using. Having a 1000+ range linear shot ult is still fantastic at landing those last few shots.

They should make it so only when he lands an ability does it proc (meaning no more E sling)

Lucian is now melee

Actually his ult sucks.... It's predictable, once activated he can't defend himself and unlesd you can freely hit a stunned target the damage is ignoreable. Not to mention the AA damage another carry could have done in the meantime.

His passive is strong in lane. Extremely strong. But a decdent Caitlyn can force him back - and does perform better in teamfights.

Wut?

NeroUS2 votes

Even in pro-games Lucian often gets kills with his ult. And that's with co-ordination, where teammates can block for you and players are more knowledgeable about how to dodge certain skillshots.

Not only that, but last time I checked waveclear was worth a lot in itself, especially when defending sieges or sieging your opponents.

Snakethrower1 votes

Wasting an ult (that's not global) for wave clear is kinda overdoing it. If it was the carries job to waveclear Caitlyns Peacemaker or Corki would be THE top notch picks. They are not.

TecToNiiC1 votes

Wut?

Corki is always a top pick at high level and tournament play. Wave clear is worth a lot depending on your comp. Do you have another champ who needs to ramp up while your team is semi turtling? Waveclear helps a ton. It helps seige and counter seige.

And all the pros who waveclear with lucians ult must be overdoing it. They couldn't possibly know what they are doing.

Lucian uses mana.

The actual solution is to not give him free abilities with functionally 4 second cooldowns.

Stacona1 votes

Some changes i can think of is one of these or both - adjust Q damage to be 80/90/100/110/120% Total AD from base damage and bonus AD --- another nerf would be increase the delay on his Piercing Light (Q) -- mana cost on his dash

TheNHS1 votes

Lucians ult is the easiest ult to dodge and it really doesn't do that much damage compared to most adc's as for his passive idk what to think because the only reason to play lucian is because of is op passive. I do agree it does way more than most adc's passives, but he has a shorter range, but at the same time all his abilities make up for his lack of range. So its hard to say wether to nerf it or not

MasticatingGrill1 votes

Lucian ult I think still does not waveclear as effectively as the Lux perma melt or especially the Anivia death storm. As an ADC his waveclear with ult is really for getting stacked waves off a tower before they can destroy it.

His ult in general is kinda trash. If you pick your support to counter him he will be trash all game.
