everyone keeps crying about the gold loss to support items

i frankly do not give a shit about that. what i do care about is how every single support i play that builds item 3851 lost their mana regen. its garbage. fuck the income, supports have always been gimped on that anyway. the lack of sustain on the items ruins them and makes them worthless outside of warding.

I mean the gold income lost is made up by the free upgrade of the item. The only difference is you cant spend the gold where you want anymore.

As for laning without the mana regen i feel laners shouldnt be getting a free source of mana regen. Manaflow band + biscuits on their own is like 290 mana + 1% of missing mana regen.

Agreed. The lost regen is brutal. The free upgrade is whatever, hardly ever purchased the final upgrade anyhow.

Thought the new ad item would be great for Ashe support then i quickly realized she hardly has mana to harass anymore. Feels the same on janna.

The mana regen felt pretty bad for me as well.

You can still buy mana regen, you can even rush mana regen items...but nothing beats snowballing your gold per minute, while also attaining a stat like mana regen... and it costed only 450g or something small. Most of the decent mana regen items, aren't nearly as cheap.

I played as morgana, and would constantly go OOM, without making much damage. Even while landing most of my abilities.

  1. Utility is affected by income. If you can't get CDR you are out of an extended skirmish or fight after the initial contact.
  2. You are correct, but now you are even more dependent on your team to carry you or you can't even be effective in supplying vision on your own side of the map should they fall behind at all you also have zero agency.
  3. Most players on actual support champions only upgraded to second level anyway because of how fast games generally end and you basically had what you need most from the item. Since the procs never went away though in a longer game you are now set back in a way that accelerates the longer a game last even if your team overall manages to close the gap or even gets ahead. You are also actively punished if you have try and help your team more. 4.It's a bit of both because Riot never actually accounted for the value of the extra stats and procs in talking about the items gold efficiency because they create more variables the longer a game or honestly even just lane phase last and what skill of players was. There needed to be change, no question there, I'm just saying that this wasn't a good way to do it. You're back to being a ward/ult bot, which caused a lot of players to quit in the past and other players would just dodge, AFK, out right pick a carry and tell there dou that they had no intention of supporting, or troll if they had to fill the spot. Literally the reason for positional select. If 1 out of 5 player don't get to enjoy the game, why would they keep playing?
