Why I miss Dominion from an actual Dominion player
Okay, so like two days ago I heard about this tank
build or some shiz.
So after getting runes and masteries I was like "Great. Now I'm just gonna quickly try it out in Domi-"
...
SO THEN I WENT TO 3 V 3'S.
And I got rekt. Badly. By a tank Yasuo. And I didn't play Tank
again.
In all seriousness, I have a point to this post. Dominion, for me, was a great mode because it was a faster paced game of League of Legends, rather than just a shorter and more compact mode like Twisted Treeline feels like. I really liked Dominion because it's fast-paced gameplay meant it was really good for trying out new champs and builds.
Let's say dominion was still there. I try tank
and I still suck. But with the recall trinkets, even if I die, I can come back. The free xp over time, gold over time means I can still build things. With the capture points, even if I'm behind I can still do stuff. I don't have to sit in a lane for 15 minutes and play super passive. Dominion, for the vast majority of time, is all about moving around. In SR and TT, if I die once learning a champ, I'm stuck for 15 minutes basically if my opponent does not mess up. It sometimes deters me from trying new champs and builds again like I would on Dominion.
With dominion there was always something you could do. And the somewhat frantic action means you were never out of commission for too long.
TL;DR: I miss dominion because if I wanted to try and learn a new champ, I wasn't punished as much for sucking, and games didn't last so long so losing wasn't as annoying, partially because I didn't have to stick around and fight someone who was ahead of me. And the revive trinkets and lowered death timers meant I wasn't spending nearly as much time out of comission.
If a replacement mode pops up for dominion, I request Riot to include those faster pace elements.

after her crit buffs, and I wanted to try
rush. So, figured I'd be able to test that build quickly in Domi-.
