Why were the Syndra buffs reverted?

She already has mana problems. Her early game is poor. Her mobility is poor. Her burst requires setup.

Noone is even playing her. Why are they reverting the buffs. :(

We ran out of time in 5.17 and had to make a call on what to prioritize. Syndra was less urgent, and needed more work, than various other champions, so her changes got pushed back. We expect we'll get back to working on her again soon (potentially for 5.18).

Has the Zyra/Sona buffs/changes been pushed back to 5.18 as well or have we yet to see them/you can't really say if or not so you can choose this option.

We've got some time put aside to look at Zyra during 5.18's development, she also got shifted back from 5.17.

Not sure if we've got anything planned for Sona, can't see her on the current list of 5.18 Live Balance work, but that's not necessarily comprehensive yet.

Now that everyone forgot why she had to be put in this situation, they want her buffed. Then when this happens, she will have to get nerfed again.

This is exactly what happened to Elise just now.

Ryze, Syndra, Elise, and so on. Either they get dumpstered or they shit on everyone. I think the real reason Riot takes so long with these types of champions is because they're just done with this shit, and/or having an aneurysm over the complexity of balance with these dudes (which, honestly, isn't that easy).

Riot had stated that they wanted to test more and that this next patch wouldn't be enough time to iron out some changes for her. Maybe in the next patch (5.18) they'll buff her, but I do hope we see some changes.

because.... they dont want to go back to boring siege for days wait till a ziggs bomb hits a carry, or a syndra stuns someone important.

they're generally safe with their range, they dont want them to have anything more than waveclear or else they become strong champions again. and when they were strong it was all about just waiting for the right time to go in (very boring LCS)

That doesn't sound right. I think all champs need to be viable. Even Poppy.

If you're healthy you deserve to be viable, if not, tough luck. Wait for your rework.

With that said, Syndra isn't necessarily unhealthy but Riot needs to buff her in a way that won't put her back into her old state, and thus the reason why the true damage buff was removed.

She is a BURST mage with 3 forms of CC, a slow a knock back and a Stun.

She is the very definition of unhealthy. She has a overloaded kit that will never be balanced, it will either be to strong as before or to weak like now.

Yes, someone who mains a champion with a weak early game and Zero cc called a lane bully with 3 ccs and assassin like burst unhealthy. Why does it even matter which champion I like the most? The truth, regardless of where it comes from is still the truth.

I wish they would gut Syndras ap scaling and increase her base damages and make a video about Syndra support. I think that is the only healthy place for a champion with that much cc.

I hate that word used in this context. Cancer is real and it kills a lot of people.

Syndra has a more unhealthy kit than Yorick ever did, yorick was left to rot.

Annie has an oppressive Stun (aoe or single target) and the boards complain about her all of the time. Syndra brings more cc to the table and more often than Annie does, while at the same time having superior range to Annie.

I do not hate Syndra (I actually enjoy playing her), I just think that when she is strong enough to be good she will always be the best choice due to her overloaded kit.

The difference between Syndra and Annie's CC is that Syndra's can actually be dodged and isn't instant.

Now her ultimate is targeted, but by itself it isn't as powerful as say Veigar's.

How is her kit overloaded? She doesn't even have a passive until level 9.

Can you please stop saying she has 3 forms of CC as if she's ever going to CC you in three different ways in a combo. She's going to stun you and chain that stun into a slow, that's it. She doesn't stun you, then slow, you, then knock you back. Her abilities are:

Q: damage W: slow and damage E: knockback/stun and damage Ult: damage

Passive just makes those abilities better at what they do over time. What about that is overloaded? Crowd control and burst is all she does and almost every other mage does that, she just has more of her budget in her burst than most mages.

2-4 second high scaleing q counts as burst and that is aoe. her kit is over loaded just that she is countered by what riot is giving every champion now high mobility on low cool down

I like playing Syndra its so fun to stun a whole team :3! I am glad they fixed some of her bugs though. It is also fun to always steal the enemies teams jungle farm with my awesome dark powers of stealing :3!

Riot needs to learn how to buff without adding fucking True Damage.... They can still buff her but I am glad they are holding back on on adding True damage to ANOTHER CHAMPION.
