The problem isn't devourer...

Not sure this is true, but I just recently heard riot is nerfing devourer. If this is true I'd like to ask ya'll not to.

While I feel some offenders are abusing devourer, looking at you Yi and Xin, but I strongly feel devourer is the only reason certain champs like Shyvana are even viable at the moment and feel it would be sad if said champ gets pushed down to unviableness because Yi is abusing it. Not alot of people actually know this, but Yi can actually go warrior and do EXACLY the same thing he does now, on the contrary I fear Warrior Yi far more than devourer Yi, because the flat AD and no need to farm stacks means he will be steamrolling far earlier, unlike with devourer his skills actually hit alot harder with warrior, that's 60 AD he's missing out on and tons of farm time he's adding when chosing to go devourer, to reach that sated passive that HIS kit allows him to abuse.

Even Rageblade itself is ALOT stronger than devourer despite miniscule difference in prices, at least until sated.

Nerfing devourer won't change how Yi is played, all it will do is make people realise how strong he is with warrior and he will continue to steamroll because he has the true damage, tankyness and cheesy playmaking ability (cc? Hahaha! Alphastrike ur bunghole!) to do so.

So don't fix an item that isn't broken, fix the offenders instead.

items that allow pure ad champs to force mr on tanks is not healthy. Both items need nerfs.

Chanses are, the tank will build mr already because of other champs with AP scaling kits. Also, as a tank into a full AD team, devourer Yi is NOT enough to force me to build magic resist, if he does get rageblade on top if it that another thing, the issue is the interaction between items and how certain champs abuse them because of their kits, not the individual items themselves, when was the last time you saw devourer/rageblade Shyvana?

You don't.

Guess why.

With the meta favoring 3 lane AD comps a tank shouldn't have to build MR. Yi,Xin, Jax, etc.. auto attack champs that output stupid amount of ap damage even though they are ad champs with rage and dev. Shiv has ap scaling these items just make her over the top.

Its not the champs kits its the items in general allowing them to to get around defensive stats. If I am playing against an all AD comp i expect my armor and health to be all i need. Now there is no punishment against these type of comps.

The problem isn't devourer. Nor is the problem Yi.

The problem is the snowball-y atmosphere created by preseason, and the strong defensive damage items created with the juggernauts all allowing one item that was overbuffed to run rampant without players being able to do anything against it: Rageblade.

This item is solely responsible for making it possible for Yi, Xin, Jax, etc to do devourer rageblade tank builds, as it carries enough damage to allow it. And to illustrate why rageblade is a problem and not devourer, guinnsoo's is also responsible for making Kog'Maw a mess, making Kayle, Irelia and even lane Xin and Jax incredibly strong. Hell, I've seen Tryndamere, Nidalee, and Teemo all build it.

Yet this is the meta that Riot wants, so if we can't treat the cause, shouldn't we at least treat the symptoms?

Not when we can treat the cause: Rageblade. Treating the systems will just force Rageblade as a core item on those builds, making it a hell of a lot harder to do any other build with them
