Ancient Coin's quest reward is too weak, not just the coin drops

In an average game, you'll probably be finishing the quest around level 8~9. And it may benefit you for a short while to have that second skill rank in ultimate at level 10. But the champions who build it are Soraka, Janna, and Rakan. None of which get a significant spike in power at level 11 since their power comes from the actives and passives on the support items they buy.

Meanwhile, mage supports get a speed boost to reposition for better shots. And tank supports get a shield that is stronger at level 1 than Rakan's is at level 18 (while despite his extremely short AA range he can't buy Relic effectively because he's technically ranged.)

And either could replace their quints with Exp. to get an even better effect than just a skill point. Since they'd also be getting their normal bonuses to defenses and AD from an actual level up.

Ancient Coin needs a different reward for its quest. My suggestion is either a permanent speed boost towards low-hp allies (like Soraka's passive) or something like True Healing, where their heals on allies ignore 10% of the penalty from grievous wounds.

You underestimate the power of a free spell level.

It's exactly 100 healing per ally, 125 healing per ally, or .25 charm duration and 100 damage per enemy.

And that's only an advantage assuming you get a chance to use your ultimate before the enemy hits level 11 anyway, which as I pointed out could be done before you if they opt to bring Exp quints.

The item's under performing as is because one skill point past level 6 doesn't make as much of a difference. If, say, you got it pre-6 and were able to rush in with the ult before the enemy then it would be worthwhile. But they'd have to then disable your ability to sell it for something better.

If anyone uses EXP Quints they need to uninstall the game because using those are equal to throwing the game.

Not really, since the low scaling of support champions means there aren't any quints that you absolutely need on them.

But likewise, if you got to choose between any of the three rewards regardless of the item you bought, people who picked the extra skill point would be insane.

pros use them and they do well. I guess that the highest tier players need to uninstall

I would agree that it needs to be changed. The skill point is nice and all but it makes me feel stronger than I really am. Sure I have 10 skill points at level 9, but I don't have the resistances and natural stat buffs that come with it to actually make me level 10.

Sure Janna can heal for another 50HP per second while still getting nuked from orbit because she has no real resistances.

The coin drops are actually nice now. But agree that the skill point is subpar compared to the other rewards.
