still no lee win nerfs

i'm still waiting "Tanks go straight into a fight, have natural survivability, sustained damage patterns, team utility/CC and are usually not attractive targets to try and take down if you've got any better options. Assassins by contrast tend to flank, have extremely high target selection and burst, low team utility, lack constant survivability (instead relying on other tools like mobility, untargetability, stealth etc) and are usually great targets to kill if you can focus them. Combining those two categories risks creating very tanky, mobile champions with high CC/utility that set up their own kills, are extremely hard to take down and will happily chew through an entire team. When that goes wrong you get things like release Xin Zhao. When balanced you get a character that's ok at a lot of things, lacks clear strengths or weaknesses and isn't well distinguished from other similar champions (the fighter problem basically)." Here is an other quote "The second tier of upgrades is being reduced by 100. Ideally, this shouldn't have much real change on the game except in ONE specific scenario... First blood.

The current upgrades are 350 up from Machete. If a level 1 fight breaks out and if a jungler gets the first blood (+400 gold), it can cause the game to snowball right out of the gate since they have access to an upgrade on their first clear and still have their consumable incidentals. The difference between an upgrade and no upgrade is stark. This change is intended to help alleviate that a little bit."muh lee sin muh lee sin muh first blood lee sin muh lee taking virginity of all the junglers is what i'm reading edit:with the current changes on the pbe if i'm playing a normal jungler and the enemy will have lee win he will kill me over and over cause i've to recall 2 times before do red and he will jump out of bush and kill me again and again see what rito did to shaco for this..... at least shaco was useless late game and had limited mobility edit2:i'll pick the best quotes from comments until we have a rito answer

Did you know that Lee's Ultimate is a supression?

As in, when he is casting it, his target is incapable of moving, flashing or activating any items.

Not to mention the whole ''600 base damage AoE nuke with 200% Bonus AD Scalling on one of the shortest CDs in the game'' part.

This would be a bad time to say mid lane is in fact op and does deserve nerfs isn't it?

get's downvoted to hell while every game starts with "MID OR FEED" cause mid clearly doesn't hold more influence than other lanes

People like mid because we all like to be glass cannons who destroy enemies and do a shit ton of damage

People like mid because we all like to be glass cannons who destroy enemies and do a shit ton of damage

God,people always do these idiotic excuses

"rengar isn't op(after bugfix rengar),assassins assassinate, just pink ward the entire map, also buy oracles(not that it will help, but meh)" "evelyn isn't op(reworked eve),assassins assassinate, just pink ward the entire map, also buy oracles(not that it will help, but this was never about logic)" "reksai isn't op,bruisers deal damage, nothing new here" "lee isn't op,he is just fun and high skillcap,he pays for having utility damage and immense mobility by the power of imagination" "zed isn't op,just use zhonyas/qss to counter him,he is just fun,his safe laning, immense burst and mobility is easily countered by the power of imagination" "thresh isn't op,imaginationnnnnnnnnnnnn"

Mid lane is a short lane, reducing pressure from the jungler and roaming laners, you get solo lane farm, solo lane exp,and optimal roaming position, sure you are in the middle of the map(thus laners can roam, though top lane generally roams with a tp anyway) but mid laners are also generally the most mobile champions and are in the short lane, they also have some of the most insanely overloaded kits this game has to offer, people like mid because they realize the lane is overpowered, and just rephrase it with "you only need to rely on yourself"/"they like glass canons hyper mobile bursters"/"you can roam easily"/"it's not snowballed easily by the jungler as top"/"mid laners have fun kits"

You can either call mid lane op,or you can rephrase op and then call mid lane by that, everyone and their mother knows mid is op,that's why it's so contested, but people are just too delusional to admit that to themselves. meanwhile half of the bans are aimed at mid lane, cause it's so balanced.

irelia is actually far more ridiculously strong than people give her credit. her passive makes her pretty dang busted. I mean, she has true dmg, a pretty powerful heal, nothing but abilities that proc trinity force, and a passive that makes cc almost useless.

Remlap12231 votes

And she's at like a 25% ban rate right now, so someone obviously caught on to her bullshit.

ahhahahahahhah the better nerf irelia is a stupid joke she got more buffs than nerfs and nerfs didn't it her even hard she is kinda like pantheon better nerf him while we have lee/j4 this is the example from where the irelia joke came from

I Main Swain4 votes

I thought the joke came from people saying that she had gotten just a liiiittle strong at some point and they thusly nerfed her to the ground supposedly or something like that

She was released completely broken (big surprise) people didn't really catch on too much, she then got nerfed like 6- patches in a row at a time people were buying clown shit on her, that's where the "nerf irelia" came from.

She's actually really strong right now. She's like old Jax, before Riot decided that a bruiser top being on par with Lee Sin and Zed was bad game design. RIP Jax. It's just not the same.

assuming at least that she isn't against an adc, which brings me to another off topic point. why is it that adc's are so vulnerable, yet deal often the same or less even dmg than other safer roles?Fizz

probably.. which is sad because last month a lee sin with just hydra and LW wombo combo'd my j4 with over 200 armor. 100-0 in less than a second.

I wasn't behind, he wasn't fed. he was just blind.

PoE00dpWDk2 votes

I got bored one day and thinking about how to beat lee sin/other assassins, so I went to the wiki to try and get a better idea about how he ticks. Those ratios, why does he scale so well with ad, I think it is some of the best ratios I ever seen. I don't see how anyone can say he does not scale well into late game. This is why he can build one or two damage items and go full tank yet still blast people, and get out no problem.

Just out of curiosity how many other champs have a 200% scaling one hit ability.

doubleguac1 votes

People act like these two things are related, but they just aren't.

I think J4 is a little strong right now. I wouldn't be surprised if he got nerfed, and I wouldn't be unhappy about it either. This has absolutely nothing to do with Lee Sin's balance.

They aren't about to nerf the jungler with the lowest win rate (among popular picks) because you can't argue with the numbers. You are going to be waiting a long time, if its the counter jungling aspect that is annoying, change your jungler pick.

The reason his winrate is so low is the exact opposite as to why Sona's was so high.

Because everyone thinks they can play him.

Whereas no one likes playing support, so no one really would play Sona. Only people that know her. (Meaning very few people)

So you end up getting nerfs to an already weak champion, and buffs to an already strong champion.

BetaDude4017 votes

And that, kids, is why we don't base champion balance on win rates.

Remlap12237 votes

Might want to tell that to Rito. I know KateyKhaos isn't part of the balance department, but she accidentally let it slip that that might have been the reason Sona is getting nerfed so hard. Buuuuuut that's none of my business.

Edit: Was actually NurseFlan, but I'm pretty sure I had a conversation with Katey on another thread, so I got the two mixed up.

Do you have a link to where Katey mentions this?

That is the entire point, he crowds out so many other junglers and makes them unpickable.

So cut his legs out from under him until he's reworked like they did for so many other champs.

GaleWinUnleashed1 votes

NEVER rely only on winrates to prove a point. Lee Sin's winrate being low does not mean he is underpowered, or even balanced. It means that he has a high skillcap, so all of the less-skilled players jumping on the "Lee Win = Freelo" bandwagon don't have enough experience, and lose horribly.

That unreliability does not mean winrate is a bad statistic. But it does mean you need other supporting information to hold it up in any kind of debate. I'd recommend plotting winrates against popularity/banrates, in order to see trends in how perceived power and/or popularity affect a champion's average performance in games.

"OP" champions (best identified by a combination of banrate and popularity, with some influence from winrate) typically show one of two different kinds of patterns in their winrate statistic, depending on how difficult they are to learn and play effectively.

  • Case 1: They are easy to play (or they're so powerful difficulty doesn't really matter), leading to a relatively high winrate and a MASSIVE banrate. Example - Warwick a few patches ago.
  • Case 2: They require a very large amount of experience and/or skill to be able to play properly. This tends to lead to another large banrate, and a DROP in winrate, caused by lower-leveled players attempting to take advantage of the new Flavor of the Month without first having the necessary experience/skill to manage the more complex mechanics and maneuvers. Example - For now, we have Zed, followed by Azir to a slightly lesser extent, then Leblanc, then Fizz.

One of the lower win-rates. "Better nerf because i got outplayed"

Downfall1 votes

I honestly think lee sin is in a great place right now, games are lasting a lot longer than they did in season 4, and thats where lee sin falls off. If you actually have your bushes warded theres no reason he needs a nerf.

MAZZ1M01 votes

Lee Sin is the pain-in-the-ass champion vs. the wingame champion. Lee does everything, but they're not going to nerf him for his versatility and safety because they trust stats. Granted, they don't lie, but that doesn't necessarily create the best gaming experience. They cater to ranked climbers for balance rather than other things. He probably won't get nerfed for a very long time.

Meanwhile, other champs need buffs... half the supports, half the bruisers, half the tanks....

Dengeden1 votes

So what champion DOESN'T snowball off of first blood? Just curious. You get invaded by their jungler and their jungler alone, that's on you. No question, learn to ward, stop complaining.
