Energy: The "proxi"-ressource

Energy has become a ressource with the sole purpose of justifing powerful low CD spells - "b..b...but they cost energy!" sounds much more impactful than "they're free" . Looking at Zed and Lee (lane). Energy is close to no restirction at at, it regenerates incredibly fast an in the worst case scenario it delays a cooldown by or 2 seconds. At the end of the day it might as well not be there.

I have to admit, that this is not completely true for Shen or Kennens mobility skill which are quite expensive - on the opposed end we however have champions like Lee Sin and Zed who might as well be ressourceless.

I feels like energy - or energy costs for certain skills - really have to be adjusted at the current state it's neither balanced between energy based champions, nor balanced compared to mana or health users.

Zed's energy is basically there to cap how stupid his ult gets. It doesn't really affect him otherwise, but it limits how bonkers his combo can get.

That being said, energy is an underutilized system with more potential than is currently being used. Which is lame.

It really only restricts absolute, constant spamming, but with Zed you get energy back it they're hit with your ability and the shadows, and he has generally low costs to begin with, so it really is pointless imo.

The problem is, some champions (Lee Sin, Zed) can use their entire combo without running out of energy (in Lee's case, he has to autoattack 1-2 times or wait a second to use ALL of his skills), while you then have the ones like Shen (230 energy, has much more limited energy regen) and Kennen (130 energy, but has to spam abilities enough to proc the stun or hit people with E to get any energy back).

In these cases, Zed's energy only comes into play if he's constantly using WQ on every wave, and Lee's only delays his combo a VERY tiny amount if he spams.

So while some champions use energy and pay for it, several get to be basically resourceless, with the energy just a VERY slight way of limiting there spam.
