RIOT RUINED A PERFECT GAME!

League was perfect for a few months when selected role draft came out. Almost every crybaby (including myself) was happy, I was a very content and stopped being a crybaby. But the other spoiled brats aren't happy with getting what they want, not only do they want what they asked for, but they want it immediately. I want my Christmas presents right now, too, but it's not killing me to wait.

On average, for top/mid queue, I waited maybe 5 - 10 minutes. Very rarely, there was a 25 minute queue (due to champ selection screen dodging), but I was perfectly fine waiting an hour if it meant the game I finally got to play put me in top/mid or top/jg. Though sometimes I queued top/support just to use MonkeyKing tank bottom lane and have 25+ assist.

Life lesson, you can do the job right, or you can do the job quick. Now I'm facing and minimal 30 minute queue time because everybody absolutely hates being autofilled so there's literally like 5 champ screen dodges between matches.

Somehow, with me having top/support as my preference, a guy with mid/jg as a preference got autofilled to top? Problem solved because we talked it out and did a few position swaps.

Lastly, I'm tired of people raging at me when I get autofilled Bot/support since I don't own any marksman or "meta" supports.

I'm curious when riot will just delete the absolute shit system that is autofill. It only made a tiny bit of sense in diamond-challenger, and even then most people hated it.

Ok sure but why1 votes

team builder

Team builder was cool, but I absolute hate mirror matches and blind pick.

Here is the thing, if auto fill is removed, guess what is going to flood the boards? "OMFG why are the queue times so long??????" Do you guys even remember how long it took for people to get supports in Teambuilder? I was joining teams that waited almost 20-30 minutes for one of us to magically show up.

I don't mind waiting 20-30 minutes for a competent/meta support. Are you saying you'd prefer to that the match starting process expedited by giving you Yorick Volibear Sion Pantheon MonkeyKing LeeSin JarvanIV Darius Illaoi as a support? Because those are your options when I get autofilled.

Edit - I did get a random Xerath from a loot chest, so I guess he works, too.

You get 1 support every 20-30 minutes if you want something you consider meta you have to wait another 20-30 if you didnt take what you go the first time. ps all of the guys you listed except yorick and illaoi can do current meta tank supports job better than them. The problem being is that when people see those champions they expect you to do more than you can as a support and as much as you would if you were in a solo lane. while you can do more than meta supports expecting solo lane carry is stupid even if you did take all the kills to which adc would cry ks as if they are promised kills you get cs who ever gets the kill gets the kill.

Personally, I dont have to worry about this, but if you get a troll auto fill support, ohh well, just hard carry your team and make them know they got carried.

Here's the thing, as a support main i'm waiting 20 min to get in game because someone on the other team keeps dodging due to autofill. Queue times are already long, and autofill is causing it.

LordGeovanni1 votes

It was actually 30 minutes - longer in team builder and people could kick you out after that. but that was mostly because no one wanted to play support because and because the only satisfying support to play tank supports got hit when the whole tank class was hit and mage supports at the same time got buffed with the mage rework at the same time with all the mages though their items did get hit a bit they didnt get hit as hard as both hp and mr on tank items leaving mages (and damge dealers in general) over all better. so no one played supports much.

Soraka Annie Janna Alistar Blitzcrank ?

Those are 450 IP and 1350 IP champions, you sure can afford one of these. If you don't want to be flamed just buy one of these. I don't have problem with "supports" you mentioned but let's be honest, if someone is in his promotions he would like to have a support that can fulfill that role well. And many people will complain if you pick something off-meta.

Also, if you want to play ranked games you should be able to fill every single role. That's something that new players won't know, because you can now pick roles. Back in season 1/2/3 you couldn't pick your roles and you also had "pick order", meaning you will sometimes end up as fill. I absolutely love the new system but when I think about it more, new players will just play 1 role and when they get autofilled they will either dodge or play really bad. This is the problem, not autofill.

Back in S4 and S5 (on my 1st account, I started at the tail end of S2 when Riven was GOD!!!!!!!) when I owned every champ, before they started this select your role stuff, I used to tell the fillers (last 2 picks), that you should learn and be good at every role. Back then, you never knew what you were going to play. So I owned every champ and every rune, had like 20 or so rune pages set up all for completely different uses depending on the the type of champ I was playing and about 9 mastery pages. On my 2nd account, I immediately dropped $400 to get all the champs I play regularly, dropped the rest on IP boost. Buy level 30 I had all the IP needed for the 9 basic rune pages. (all running armor seals and mr glyphs, only having real variations between the quints and marks, except 2 mage pages that used AP/MagPen glyphs).

On my 2nd account I got placed in like G1 and made it to P4. I got banned for constantly flaming at how easy League had become now that I got to be top lane 90% of the time.

On this new account, notice my name is "Heir of Lito" (Lito is Irelia 's dad), I went into this account fully acknowledging the role select system (as would all knew players), so my champion pool consist strictly of AD tanks and AD assassins for the purpose of playing top MonkeyKing or mid Talon. Now, I only need like 4 rune pages max and I only own the champs I like to play top lane (those are the same champs I use for jg and support) as well as my assassins that I play mid like Talon . Those rune pages and mastery pages are to benefit AD tanks and AD assassins (which I classify as AD casters since people like Talon Zed Khazix LeeSin , really shouldn't be AA much). With the exception being Tryndamere Irelia who I run AS speed Quints/Marks.

This AutoFill system completely ruined the way I had this account set up and I'm already $220 invested.

See? Nothing really changed, you have to play every role but you now have bigger chance to get the lane you want. So why would you change the way you play? If you can play every role it's such a big advantage not only for you but for your team as well. Just use this advantage to change with someone who don't know how to play role yet and you will have it a lot easier in the game. Also, don't tell me that you are not bored of playing only one role. That would be weird.

I never get tired of top lane, it's the true island life. The only time i hate top is when there is a Singed . Makes lame boring and now I just dodge at champ select.

While you should be able to play every role, that can be a daunting task for newer or lower raked players who have a hard enough time playing 2. And seeing as how long queue times didn't really effect people much in lower elos, the inclusion of autofill for all players at all times is just a bad decision. Saying that it's how things used to be isn't a valid argument, since league is constantly changing. Picking your best two roles was a great change. Autofill wasn't. At least not in bronze-gold/plat where it causes more problems than it fixes.

Where to learn the basics if not in low elo? Also, it's not autofill causing problems, it's people doing it. I know it may feel unpleasant when you get autofilled but so what? It's one game, you can endure it. And next time you will have your roles guaranteed.

Dynikus1 votes

Normals are a good place to learn the basics. Not ranked. How is it not autofill that's causing the problem? And how is it one game? Sure, you can't have back to back games where you get autofilled, but you can sure have it every few games. Because players are getting autofilled into a role they don't want to play, or can't play well, the number of games dodged is significantly increased, effectively making wait time longer, even if the actual queue time is shortened.

Tukan Tonko1 votes

Depends on where you are playing, in EUNE the only way to actually practice is ranked. Also, where do you learn the most? In rankeds. It's different enviroment.

Think, when there was no autofill you had 2/5 chance to get your 2 roles. Now you have bigger chance. Did people dodge back then? Sure, but not so much. Autofill is exactly the same think, actually better. Sloth is the problem here. This is the best to compare these two, pick order and auto fill. It was working back then, Riot didn't change anything, so it's not their problem, they couldn't know that people will be used to the new system that they will rely on the role they pick so much. But that's bad. That's why autofill is good not only for the game but also for individuals. It helps you develop.

I got autofilled once since it came out. It's maybe NA problem, but on EUNE people don't dodge so often. I have no idea why.
