What made a major LCS fan stop watching LCS (Me)
Super huge LCS fan, and LCS is what got me into league, i watched it before I started, and I am still a very passionate player to this day, but I will say, my viewership support of LCS has basically crippled form watching every single game to near zip. So here is what started that out.
1- The Schedule Every season the schedule just seems to change literally all the time. It looks like Season 8 it started to stabilize to an actual schedule that makes sense to me. But it was all the schedule changing that started in season 6 that really threw things off for me. Like one week we were having games on Mondays and Tuesdays in North America. WTF? But it looks like this problem has been addressed so i'm happy about that.
2-The players became so dreadfully dull Sneaky, Xpeke, Doublelift, Aphromoo, Reckless, these players aren't just good, they have actual personalities, people you can imagine yourself sitting next to and having a beer with. Their interviews are always funny and show personality, but these new generations of players, they are quite honestly, and not to stereotype, the very definition of nerd and not in any good ways. Socially awkward, boring, zero personality. I know this isn't exactly their fault, their job is to be good at the game, not to be entertainers, but still, personality is so important to keep sports interesting. Unicorns of Love from EU understands this perfectly, they literally hired a guy whose primary job is literally to just be the definition of funny and entertaining and as a result they are one of the most loved teams in EU.
3-Champion diversity became virtually none existant. Literally the same team comps, every, fucking, game. To the point even silver players could predict the pick and ban phase with ease and explain why. Maybe the silver players are just smart. Nope, just we literally seen it all to the point we can name the draft phase in pro play by heart.
4-Lack of Strategies and lack of come back plans Strats are repetitive, and once a team has a gold lead, you can safely turn off the channel and change it knowing who won.
So yeah those are the four big reasons why I stopped watching the LCS
