Looking at the assassin reworks

This may be a bit late, but why the hell not.

Rengar : Was reverted. His Q rework was aimed in the wrong direction, and so was that crit on his ultimate. Leblanc : Was reverted. Her new kit made her WAY too reliant on her passive, and simply made her basic abilities completely and utterly useless. Talon : Cheeses you at level 2, disgustingly overpowered way to escape/roam, but his burst window late game has opened up a bit, so I don't have any final comments on this. Katarina : Definitely the most successful of them all. Balanced her (almost) perfectly. While her old kit was more fun to play with imo, her new one makes it so she can't just jump into a stupid 1v5 and get a pentakill within the blink of an eye.

So in total, the assassin reworks were a failure. Half of them were undone, and there is not argument over the fact that they should have been. Not trying to flame Riot. I understand the way in which they were going with these reworks, but they just didn't do a great job with them.

I think the same kind of analysis can be applied to all of the class updates. Out of the original four juggernaut reworks, only one turned out successful (Darius), while the rest either missed the mark completely (i.e. Garen and Skarner) or made the champion significantly worse (i.e. Mordekaiser). All three of the Tank Update reworks had a questionable impact on the affected champions, and in-between we've had a whole slew of balance nightmares, toxic kits and half-baked changes brought about by those class updates. I think originally, Riot set out with good intentions, but it very quickly became apparent that it was simply not possible for the devs to bring quality changes to League with the rushed schedule and limited resources they had set for themselves with those projects.

However, it also feels like Riot tried to adopt this as their new content production scheme, which is likely why those roster updates went on for a fair bit longer than they should've. End result, though, is that it feels like League's set itself back a few years by wasting a lot of resources over stuff that's bound to get changed or reverted entirely, and I think it's hurt the game's popularity in the long run. My hope, though, is that Riot learns from this failure to come up with a new plan that properly fulfils their original intended goal of modernizing the game's design: the champion VGUs we have now, for example, are generally extremely successful and high-quality, but arose only after Karma's botched relaunch, and the subsequent backlash it has continued to generate. We've already seen a pretty successful mini-overhaul to mage itemization, after the MYMU made quite a few mistakes on that same front, so it's possible that could be the best way to approach targeted class redesigns in the future.

i just hate how kats aoe thing with her knives(forgot the name) doesnt have its damage come from its center but rather where kat collects it so the range is incredibly misleading
