Blast Cone is still an unnecessary RNG element that makes a lot of games feel bad.

I'll start off by saying I love the healing plant and the sight plant is okay, we should definitely keep those. However, the blast cone is really too much. In pretty much 90% of my games there is some sort of blast cone play that ends up saving or killing someone that should have otherwise not survived or not died. In my recent game we caught Trundle out and chain CCd him multiple times. Each time he got lucky enough to be walking towards a blast cone. Twice he blasted himself over a wall and he survived. This was super early in the game too, it could have been a game-changing kill.

Point is they just feel bad. Whether you're the one abusing them or the enemy is abusing them, they don't feel like they give a means to outplay they feel like luck.

The blast cones spawn in set locations, they aren't a RNG element

Yes, but most people aren't calculating the spawns and deciding to get caught out at the right time. It's one thing to use it to speed up your pathing. It's another when it saves your life, which could be a huge swing in the game.

The plant itself isnt RNG, just because someone isnt calculating it, doesnt make it RNG.

That is like saying "CDs are RNG since I dont look at them"

The timing is the RNG element.

The timing is the RNG element.

The timing can't be an RNG if it is in fact not using an RNG to calculate location, spawn point, etc. That would be similar to calling the old drag system RNG just because the timer wasn't displayed on the HUD.

The timing is 100% deterministic, there are exactly 0 bits of entropy involved, and is therefore ABSOLUTELY NOT an RNG component.

If you're going to argue that that's an RNG element, then all the plants are, because they all share exactly the same spawn mechanic.

Looking further at your original example, had you considered that the Trundle was not 'lucky' that he moved towards the blast cone but was making a concerted effort to do so so that he could escape? There's exactly two possibilities:

  1. He did in fact just get lucky, happened to realize he was on the blast cone, and took advantage of it.
  2. He knew the cone was there and was trying to get to it to escape. Of these two, the second is far more likely, and is absolutely not an RNG component in a game, and on top of that both teams have exactly the same ability to take advantage of this (or deny the enemy that advantage).

You can just use it yourself for no reason and prevent the enemy from using it in the near future. It could be a strategic move by that trundle to go into the enemy jungle knowing that it is there. If the blast cone wasn't there he may not have even gone in.

Take my upvotes, i agree with everything you have to say, the slow on the healing plants fixes the problems they would have without the slow, the vision one does nothing wrong already, but the blast cone just bullshits people into safety.
