Anidan2 votesA balanced game can include supports that don't feel weak. Just look at the other two big MOBAs: I don't feel weak on support on either HotS or DotA2. In fact, the recent TI (DotA2) was won due in large part to support play rather than carry play. Playing a game as Earthshaker, Shadow Shaman, Lion, and Lich doesn't feel weak. Playing a game as Auriel, Rehgar, Stukov, Uther, or Tyrande doesn't feel weak.
Supports can still feel strong and meaningful and the game remain balanced, it's just a harder trick to pull off, one League has historically had a lot of trouble with.

ChaosThief1 votesYes you're correct, it wasn't one heal. However... I believe I saw Redemption heal 1.1k hp, and soraka's normal heal gave back an additional 600 health.
A caught ADC that escapes from the skin on their teeth should not get healed back so easily that you can do nothing as a burst champion as not only was all of your burst negated, but they're a DPS champion that can now turn against you and you have nothing.

It is not getting foxed, only nerfed since part of the HP was moved to base HP, but not all of it.

was level 18 with 2k bonus HP, stoneplate'd Locket shield would be 434 + 0.36 x 6000 = 2594 HP worth.
That's far beyond ridiculous. Stoneplate's HP increase should really count as base HP (or a special increase that does not scale with anything).
