I truly don't understand the mechanics of MMR???

I legit carried myself all the way to Gold series, then I hit gold series and my games were trolled by the SAME player for 2 of the 5 games. I lost my gold series and ever since then, I've tried carrying myself back but have been trolled every game to end up demoting me to almost Silver 4??? I really don't understand how I've been paired with such awful teams whose skill level is on par to a bronze 5 player? My win rate dropped to a 20% from a 60%???

I literally google searched, "lost gold series mmr" and came to this post because I'm having the SAME EXACT PROBLEM.

I had a winrate of W:17 L3 pretty much from S4 to series to gold. Lost my gold series by a game, and then SUDDENLY Every team i'm on is throwing like crazy. Can NOT figure out Riot's MMR structure. It's like i was secretly put into a class of people called, "People who are salty for losing their gold series and now will never win games"

Right???? I don't even understand. I'm suppose to play with players on my level. I'll have 10L/10W and then get paired with players with 10L/1W????
