Jinxylord pretty much admited that favoritism is a thing at Riot

Here's something to think about. League balance is like a ladder. There's ALWAYS going to be a popular champion that you see a lot at the top of the adder. When you nerf bat them off the top, another champion is likely to take their place. If it isn't Jhin it will be MF, or Draven, or Kai'sa, or Jinx, etc. A good question to ask is, "who would you rather see at the top of the ladder? Who makes the game best when you see them in your games?" There's always going to be someone who's played the most.

hold on

who would you rather see at the top of the ladder?

Who? i Ahri wonder Jhin whoCamille indeedIrelia

instead of nerfing op champions and buffing weak champions to make the game different every month, you guys just let whoever you like sitting on the top for months before taking actions after that said champion reaches 50% ban rate because people are done playing against them Thresh LeeSin

understand that "fun to play against" is subjective, it will never be fair for the entire playerbase to let a set of champions remaining at the top

I think Ashe is the adc that is the most fun to play against and deserves to be meta, bruiser mains? they absolutely HATE Ashe and would permaban her if she were Meta. Yasuo? he has 50% ban rate in plat+ why aren't you nerfing him? People hate playing against him while I don't because I main Lucian, playing against a champion is purely subjective

you should NOT balance the game around that, nerfing/buffing champions does not have for goal perfect balance it has for goal to not let the game remain the same

if a champion is popular because he's fun, that's fine Jhin has 52% win rate and 30% pick rate

how could you allow your player base to lose more games against a champion when said champion is played in 1 game over 3?

Dawg. Jinxylord is not on the balance team,so everything he says is his personal opinion.

No he didnt. He thinks jhin is balanced. He is just popular for the sake of being popular and tahts inevitable. Lee Sin for example isnt an amazing champ but has a high pick rate, main rate, and one trick rate.

Does that mean he needs buffs or nerfs, not exactly.

Ezreal is the most popular champ in Korea, having presence in pick or ban for over 85% of games.

Is he gunna be buffed or nerfed cause of that? No (even though he is being reworked now).

Some champs will be played even if they are good or garbage.

Jinx for another example has a high play rate and a high main rate, objectively very weak champion.

Lux is a very high mained champion and usually top pick rate even if she isnt the best champ.

What he is saying people will play champs regardless.

Ezreal is one of the most popular champ in every region he's pick/ban in pro Ezreal has always been a balance issue

Some champs will be played even if they are good or garbage.

unrelated Jhin is not garbage right now which is why he needs nerfs 52% win rate is purely an aberration

Jinx for another example has a high play rate and a high main rate, objectively very weak champion.

Objectively? based on what? Jinx is an obnoxious pick in low mmr with stormrazor, listed number 1 on opgg, she has 53% win rate and 10% pick rate, she's weak in high elo after like diamond 1/master. Low elo has always historically never been able to deal with her. that's totally different from Jhin

Lux is a very high mained champion and usually top pick rate even if she isnt the best champ.

what are you talking about? she's a troll pick 90% of the time Lux has not been relevant since at least 3 years now

Galiö1 votes

Right now Lux pickrate/winrate is similar to jinx. Jinx isnt very good despite her winrate, just happens to have a decent winrate.

As for ezreal pickrate, no region compares.

As for jhin, he is goodish, not op. Especially if the enemy team has a tank, jhin doesnt really have an answer for tanks unlike almost any other marksmen.

makes 0 sense

ezreal

http://na.op.gg/champion/statistics in korea he has 28% pick rate lolalytics states 20% pick rate

As for jhin, he is goodish, not op.

52% win rate 30% pick rate why does this discussion sounds like a discussion with an Ahri main

jhin doesnt really have an answer for tanks unlike almost any other marksmen.

this argument is not relevant anymore ADCs no longer hold a broken DPS unmatched by everyone like before their late game is as strong as DPS mages like ryze

if Jhin cannot deal with tanks, his team can, and it won't be too much of a drawback because the small dps that the enemy Xayah or Tristana bring can be compensated with the insane long range squishy damage of Jhin. With his speed he can legit just run around and critting squishies without giving a fuck, and rapidfire canon+stormrazor rush allows him to poke from 700 range squishies easily

I never thought I'd meet someone who I agree with 0% who has little no no merit to their argument.

all I see here is someone who just wants to nerf a champion because the champion is popular... well sorry but he doesn't need a nerf. No matter how bad you want him to get one

it's almost as if anyone sane would think that 52% win rate 30% pick rate is a problem

anyone except Jhin mains and the "jhin is fun to play against" bandwagon

oh noes! popular champion! must nerf due to being popular! you can take your jhin hate bandwagon out of here

D357R0Y3R1 votes

ok so why do you keep not mentioning the win rate? should i mention that champions got nerfed for less than that?

or are my words just going to get ignored on purpose?

because winrate means nothing? champions with higher winrates than his get completely ignored not only by riot but by the community while champions with way lower winrates than him get constantly complained about by the community. Winrate means absolutely nothing. remember when Heimer was at about 55% winrate a while back yet nobody cared about that? So with Quinn? nobody complained until they got even slightly popular. Don't use winrates with me since they are a worthless stat that tell nothing of value

THAT's the problem champion becoming popular with high win rate

= broken

if anyone of the two are low alone it doesn't matter a champion being played too much and winning too much is the problem

I mean, I can see why he thinks he's balanced. Storm + Hail of Blades is what is breaking him. Rework storm to be less of this kite ad tool (or weaken the AS scaling on his passive's ms and leave the item alone), and nerf hail on ranged users, then he'll fall back in line.

30% pickrate champions shouldn't sit at 52% win rate. That is a clear sign of overpowered.

Galiö1 votes

3.2% of all players play 30% or more of their games as jhin.

1.7% of players play more than 70% of their games as jhin.

People who play a champ for more than 50 games on average have a 3% higher winrate than the champions base winrate.

Jhin (prob due to his frequent usage) has a lower rating of 2.1% higher rating than jhins average winrate.

This could be because many players who play jhin do not do well while those who spam jhin do relatively well (still nothing exciting).

He is a simple and 'cool' champ without any overwhelming stats and has plenty of options to play against him.

He is easy, popular, and highly 'mained'.

Also Jinxy isn't wrong. I, for example, don't trip when assassins are strong, but Wukong? I fucking hate that shit with a burning passion. That shit is cancer and a half.

So some champs being stronger in solo queue is...aight, I guess? I don't support them being too strong, though.

Horse Grenades3 votes

You are very fond of nerfing Jhin. It's like.. everyday you post something about it.

You could nerf him to the ground and a lot of people would still play him because it's fun as shit.

Thats what I wanted to answer when I saw his comment too, but I couldnt log in on phone xd

yeah riot only really lets champs be good that are either too hard to play for people to complain about them (you arent gonna see many good ryze players in silver --> you arent gonna think Ryze is op. same with Camille Gangplank Taliyah even Jhin etc.), or pretty much just champs that they like.

D357R0Y3R2 votes

gangplank is only popular in pro tho, I don't think any high elo player would want to play gangplank to try to carry a solo queue

champion is irrelevant before lvl 13 and his team only gets his R for help before

Fízz v21 votes

well the thing is.. your team gets nothing at all from other top laners unless they tp (or they are other global champs like Shen but Shen is a support now omegalul).

i looked at every top lane main in the top 20 on euw and korea, and pretty much all of them have GP at least in their top 3 most played champs

and in the korean top 20, every single top and jungle main (theres 8 of them) has Camille as their most played champ except that one Poppy onetrick, but thats another story lul

D357R0Y3R1 votes

i looked at every top lane main in the top 20 on euw and korea

most likely going to be pro players that need to train gp for pro play

kind of like why doublelift of rekkles play ashe even tho she's garbage in soloq

Fízz v21 votes

they arent all pro players but most of them dont have a very high win rate on GP yeah.

i still think the guy is busted tho lul, can barely punish his lane because of Resolve and even Time Warp Tonic, then outscales you fast as fuk boi and becomes a tank with balanced item 3053

D357R0Y3R1 votes

time warp is going to MOST likely get nerfed according to meddler

Fízz v21 votes

im ready for rito to nerf corrupting pot or Dark Seal and not the rune that made it broken lul
