Who needs Shen when we have Tahm Kench?

>Can poke better than Shen Reliable CC Waay Better Shield Waay better damage Can port anywhere just by clicking the ground Peeling for allies is super easy thanks to Tahm's W and E

Seriously his W and E are so game changing that he doesn't neda high damage ult.

Riot Shen is gonna need a lot more to become viable again, I just wish you'd do some serious change instead of these small changes that hardly effect his main weaknesses.

No Waveclear Poor Damage Literally the squishiest tank in the game (because his abilities dont really allow him to take a beating)

For the squishiest tank in the game, his average death rate in games is awfully low. As in, he dies the least often of any champ in the game that isn't Janna. While also racking up the most assists of any top laner.

Those buffs brought about both an increase in Shen's play rate as well as his win rate. He's in a pretty solid spot right now. Tahm might overshadow him, but I'm willing to wait until his release. If nothing else, Kench is much less mobile than Shen is.

Well, shens ult has better cast time, plus it isint on one fixed location unless your target stands still. Not to mention that Tahm has no taunt or dash.

Tahm has no gap closer and is required to get up in some ones face to even attempt to cc someone. I see no comparison between Shen and Tahm.

But he doesn't one. He has range CC on Q with a much wider hit box than shen's dash. And range poke is much safer than gap closing.

Also sure he cant make an enemy focus him for a minor 1.5 secs. But he can take enemy or ally out a fight for a much long duratiob which I consider way more valuable. His devour currently lasts 6secs max rank.

Oh let me just stand behind minions. Boom, you are now immune to Tahm's Q. His Q also has quite the wind up time to it so it's actually easy to dodge. And Gap Closing is waaaayyyyy more important than poke when it comes to a tank.

A 20% slow isn't go t do much when if your opponent has any sort of mobility, and the only way you're going to get close is if you land 4 Q's in a row, or they decide to go close to farm/engage. I've played Tahm on PBE, and the only time I reliably devour'd someone was when they were already in my face (During laning phase)

During the teamfights, unless you built some AS, you're going to need to stick on a target for about 1 q and 2 aa's. An approximate 2 seconds given his AS. By that time, a carry might've been bursted down, a tank might've cc'd your ass, or the target got away from you.

What I am getting at is Shen's cc and team fight potential is much more reliable since he can get up close and taunt immediately, causing a huge sway in the battle immediately. He can taunt a tank, and boom the back line is now vulnerable. By the time Tahm can swallow a tank, let alone get close to one, the battle has already started, so what good is eating a tank if your carries are dead.

And if you decide to try to save your carries instead of being front line, you effectively put you and your carry out of the fight in exchange for his safety. Effectively making it a 3/4 v 5, the enemy now has the ability to take on your front line without the fear of a carry killing em.

TL;DR Shen's utility is more immediate in a fight than Tahm's and is much more game changing, since the first moments of a fight decide more than the latter part.

Shen is a much better split pusher, which could become a serious point of contention now with the changes to the base turrets. Shen is a much better duelist, though Tahm has more up front burst. Shen's ult is global rather than Pantheon sized. Overall, he's very much like Shen if Shen were designed as a support. Though you could, with fun timing, work them together nicely to Ult on Tahm, have the jungler hop in as Shen ults them, then have Tahm take all 3 into a flank.

Who needs Shen when we have Tahm Kench?

Champions that got jumped on rather than champions doing the jumping.

Tahm Kench's mobility is all about setting up pre-meditated movement scenarios.

Shen's is about saving his butt or his allies after mistakes were made. He can jump over walls himself and move fast enough to catch a fleeing Vayne with Dash, and his mobility will allow him to help allies when they screwed up and need the help.

Tahm Kench doesn't look particularly strong in reacting to shit hitting the fan. He's only really helpful if he's already by your side to begin with.

It's harder to kite Shen compared to Tahm, Tahm has no good engage and conditional CC - you need 3 stacks of his passive.

Can port anywhere just by clicking the ground

Actually he can only tp in a short range. 4000/5000/6000, where as Shen can Globally TP to any allied Champion.
