Yasuo has a 19% pickrate with a 49% winrate

Everybody loses their minds

Meanwhile Ahri has a 17% pickrate and a 54% winrate and nobody bats an eye.

Ahri needs real nerfs, you can start by removing that retarded ms boost on her Q you added, that she never needed, in "compensation for an abusive item." Im still laughing at that.

Shooting your entire kit at once on an enemy Yasuo that hasn't yet used a wall (and that considering too that your whole kit is missles) is such a good move am I right?

Any Yasuo worth his salt will bide his time with the wall, the same way any blitzcrank or thresh wont go for miracle hooks and wait until the right moment. What exactly am I supposed to bait it out without? He's not afraid to take some poke to the face because of his passive shield, in the laning phase his dash is pretty consistent meaning he's mobile, making it harder to land skill shots, but yeah let me just throw abilities at him until he hopefully falls for it and then hope i can capitalize on it and he doesnt back of for a bit if he truly needs it that much. yep. ez pz.

Hatedaddy, take my +1. Ahri is too strong, I agree. She simply is too safe for the power she brings to the table, giving her the q movementspeedbuff was overkill and made her noobfriendly as fuck.

Cindikle9 votes

Ahri's kit is very strait forward and doesn't start destroying teams because you have someone else to activate your ult for you.

Yasou's winrate is not a good example of his power either. He is a champion you build a team around. You wont always see this in soloQ.

People complain because his kit is not fun to face. So when his popularity goes up, so does the anger.

He's not OP, just annoying.

LaceUp238 votes

Ahri is too strong. I think, however, the difference is that people feel they can dodge Ahri. Meanwhile, Yasuo is just dash dash dash crit crit dash crit lol. I personally hate playing against the champ, but don't think he is OP or anything. I just hate champs with overloaded kits in general.

Left Hook Larry2 votes

Yasuo needs minions to dash and he can't dash through the same ones. Ahri's ult doesn't need minions

Stargleam2 votes

But she only has three charges on it. and it has a higher cooldown after that. She needs a damage readjustment. But she isn't as safe as... Lets say Ekko?

Meep Man6 votes

I agree, Ahri is really annoying. What I would do is extremely cut the time that she can just store dashes for her ultimate after the first use and slightly reduce the base damage on her Q since, unless I'm mistaken, the damage is 80/130/180/230/280 base damage on an AoE partially true damage ability. It puts Ziggs to shame. Reducing it by 5 per Rank so it is instead 80/125/120/215/260 instead would be good. Anything else?

I don't mind Skillshots doing lots of damage, though you've got a point regarding the true damage upon the return of the orb. The ms boost is what kills me, it makes landing her skills easier while landing skills on her harder when she can already press R and basically accomplish this, but at least that requires her to burn her ult.

Stars Shaper2 votes

When I face Ahri is usually when I'm playing Xerath xD

and it all ends up on who gets his E in.. If you know what i mean xD

Dr Poro3 votes

Lol, ahri has Q MS and 3 dashes to dodge your E. Any decent ahri player will stomp xerath because Ahri is better than him in every single way.

Stars Shaper3 votes

True, but I'm a good Xerath too and I try to capitalize range and lure she to attempt her E and stun her instead ;D it's all mind games.

A good Ahri will stomp a good Xerath anyway, or make his lane a horrible experience.

Serevas2 votes

I actually have a lot of success with Xerath against Ahri as well, I think it's because so many people at my rank pick Ahri assuming a free win, and that it counters Xerath super hard. Then they have no idea why Ahri is supposed to counter Xerath and take so much free poke they can't even farm.

I also have a tremendous amount of experience with Xerath, and specifically with the Xerath v Ahri matchup, that unless the Ahri is insanely good I crush the lane.

Not to mention that I run Xerath with summoner 1 into that matchup every time.

I love the Ahri players crying "WTF I hit you with charm and it did nothing."

All honesty.

The only reason Ahri does so well in solo queue is the fact that she hard core punishes bad map positioning and vision. Two of which things are rampant in solo queue.

As an Ahri main I'll have to disagree with your statement that she has no meaningful mana costs, at least in the early game. A full rotation of her abilities (EQW) costs a significant portion of her mana, and even into mid game, liberal use will leave her drained. While I do agree that Ahri is a very strong pick (and has been for quite some time) I don't think she's in drastic need of changes to her kit. Players just need to understand what to do and what not to do when fighting Ahri.

BluePolarizer1 votes

Not show up to lane vs. Ahri pretty much if you can't burst her while she's stunned or snared, like with Rengar.

She is basically mid lane Kalista.

Dr Poro3 votes

Ahri being cancer doesn't validate other champs being cancer too. I don't understand why Ahri still hasn't been gutted, but I guess Riot desperately wants to see her in LCS or something. Meanwhile she's dominating soloQ and half the diamond V players abused her to get there, while they never could get past plat IV with any other champ.

You don't just climb due to a champion.

Left Hook Larry3 votes

Except if it's Riven

I remember a famous pro player (can't remember the name) said that the only champion that you can climb to Diamond with only mechanic skill is Riven because she can snowball extremely hard with just one kill and you can just repeatedly kill everything in your sight without game knowledge needed

TurquoiseYoshi3 votes

Because Ahri's kit isn't overpowered. Yasuo has a ridiculous kit where he doubles his crit chance, has technically infinite dashes, has CC, and a "LOL! BLOCKED!" button. Ahri just has too many stats inside her generally balanced kit. Ahri just needs to be toned down, Yasuo is one of THOSE champions that would need a full rework to be in a decent balanced state.

Serevas5 votes

Too many stats? Like 3 flashes, 2 abilities that auto target champions so you don't have to do anything, inbuilt strong sustain, hard cc that also pulls you out of position further than Thresh's hook, and insane movement speed on a pass through skillshot that deals true damage on return? It's the definition of an overloaded kit. People cry about Lee Sin's kit, but then I look at Ahri and would rather play against Lee Sin any day.

I'm also completely fine with Yasuo, he has super easy counter play, and is actually gankable if he does start to get out of hand. Add to that his windwall has at it's lowest point an 18 second CD and that's not until level 18 because nobody maxes that before either of his other abilities, I'm cool with losing a skillshot to it if it means he has zero defense against them afterwards. His dashes actually have a condition to their use, where Ahri's 3 free ones don't aside from the initial mana cost, which is virtually nothing anyway.

TurquoiseYoshi2 votes

Ahri is an assassin/burst mage. She should have a lot of mobility and a lot of burst. Answer me this: What can Ahri do after she has used EQWR? She has no sustain, unlike Yasuo who has his basic Q up more often then Ahri's maxed W, her lowest CD ability. Not to mention that Yasuo's Q can still get a CD lowering with extra attack speed. And speaking of cooldowns, Yasuo's W is the only ability with a decently high cooldown, which is completely earned with how good it is. His ult, at max level, has a 30 second cooldown. Ahri's ult, on the other hand, has a max level cooldown of 80 seconds. "Well Ahri's ult is far better!" you may say, but Yasuo's ult lets him ignore 50% of bonus armor for 15 seconds. And his ult still does a ton of base damage without the shred. So basically, Ahri can pick off one person, while Yasuo can fly around in a fight zapping and attacking and generally being a nuisance.

Serevas3 votes

You're comparing the base cooldowns of someone who doesn't build any CDR to the base cooldowns of someone who builds at minimum 25% CDR, it's not even a proper comparison.

Furthermore you seem to be lacking the concept of what "sustain" actually is. Her passive heals her for a shit load in lane, there's a major difference between "sustain" and "sustained damage".

What does Ahri do after her EQWR? R twice more, then W Q again, as the cooldowns are already up. The only ability that Yasuo can use frequently is his Q, as the on hit cooldown of E is at minimum 6 seconds, his Ultimate requires the target to be knocked up to use, and his wind wall has a long CD and deals no damage. So Yasuo basically has one ability after he's dashed on you. % armor shred is only really useful against tanks because 50% of 30 is still only 15 armor.

Oh and I almost forgot, Ahri doesn't do damage to a single target, 2 of her abilities can hit multiple people, her W technically can as well, she has a ton of AoE damage, a lot of it being true damage return on Q, true damage that accounts for roughly 26% of her damage in a typical game mind you.

For Yasuo to be truly super threatening a team has to be built around him, Ahri can be picked into literally any composition and function properly because her abilities have zero conditions to them.

I still maintain that I would prefer to play against a Yasuo anytime over an Ahri. Simply look at the numbers of it in the first place

Ahri: Play Rate - 18.32% - Win Rate 52.55%

Yasuo: Play Rate - 13.97% - Win Rate 48.39%

Keep in mind his play rate on the previous patch was 6.72%, and the only reason for the resurgence of his play this patch is because he's seeing a ton of play in the professional scene lately. His win rate doesn't even approach 50% until you have at least 50 games played typically, where people with 5 or fewer games on Ahri still see a 51% win rate.

TurquoiseYoshi2 votes

Olaf does 30% of his damage as true damage. Does that make him OP? Cho'Gath does 21% of his damage as true damage. Corki does true damage on every AA, as does Twitch (Twitch's is DoT). Darius has tons of true damage in an ult that can be recast on kill, and Kog gets true damage when he dies. Dragon and Ignite do true damage. Does that make any of them OP?

I meant sustained damage in fights. If it came across as meaning sustain in lane, then I was incorrectly explaining myself.

Yasuo has a knockup in his kit. That's why his ult requires enemies to be knocked up. Many champions also have the ability to knock things up or away for him. Many top supports (Alistar, Braum, Janna, Thresh) have the ability to knock up. Hell, Gnar ult even counts as interacting with Last Breath.

Yasuo doesn't have a kit extremely compatible with Solo Queue, and Ahri does. I would rather play against a good Ahri than a good Yasuo, as Yasuo requires a lot more skill to play well, but can be played better at a high level.

Lastly, if you dodge Ahri's E, you will not die to her. Probably. If you do, then the Ahri is pretty fed.

Serevas2 votes

The knockup in his kit also requires him to stack his Q twice for the third being the knockup, and it's an extremely narrow and finicky skillshot.

With the true damage argument you're failing to see the proportions. Corki's true damage is maybe 34 per auto attack and that's only when he's nearing full build.

Twitch's true damage at level 17 is out damaged by ignite at level 9, it's practically nonexistent, let alone having to actually apply all 6 stacks? You're probably dead by that time unless you've got some really good peel.

Olaf's true damage costs his own health if he doesn't kill the target.

Darius and Cho'gath's true damage are both their ultimate abilities, Darius' has a lengthy cooldown if you fail to kill. Not to mention that Ahri's Q out damages Darius' rank 1 ultimate with only half the ability. The full damage also outdoing the stacked damage.

There are meaningful trade offs to each of the other champions true damage, or it's weak by comparison, Ahri actually receives a benefit for utilizing hers in the form of 215-80 movement speed, which only makes her combo that much easier to hit, or a gank that much easier to get away from. That's more movement speed than any pair of boots aside from boots of mobility, and boots of swiftness with Alacrity match the degraded movement speed. She genuinely has the most unconditional mobility in the entire game, until Riven hits 40% CDR, and Riven's mobility is only more if the player knows how to balance the cooldowns on Broken Wings.

I just find it interesting how you'd rather play against a champion that braindead roflstomps soloqueue without any effort, compared to a champion that actually requires a lot of practice to play properly and is also super easy to deal with if you have any comprehension of how the champion functions. Practice that pretty much nobody has outside of platinum and above, if even then.

It honestly takes two seconds to realize "Wow yasuo uses my minions as mobility and gap closers to come fight me, maybe I should fight when I don't have a lot of minions around. Holy crap he has zero mobility all of a sudden." "His shield depletes if you pop it at all, maybe I should take advantage of my ranged auto attacks and pop his shield. Holy crap all my damage does actual damage now." That's what my complaint is, Ahri has no simple and easy counter play that always works, Yasuo does. Yasuo's power is traded off for having simple, easy, always relevant, counter play. Ahri has zero trade offs for all of the power in her kit, except for the fact that it costs mana, and keep in mind her mana costs are pathetically low as is anyway.

What's Ahri's counter play? Dodge E and she probably won't kill you. Also if you CC her she dies, which is true for every champion except for Olaf and tanks.

KatCraft2 votes

Haha please Yasuo is one of the most oppressive laners in the game, significantly more so than Ahri. Yasuo has almost no cool downs, and no resource management. He can spam his abilities on waves, while Ahri's mana costs are very high.

Ahri has significant trade offs for her mobility in that she is one of if not the only assassin in the game that can't reliable 100-0 squishy targets unless you are disgustingly fed. Zed, Leblanc, Talon, Fizz, are all examples of champs that can one shot targets easier.

Your argument that you can just ult again and wait for your q again ignores the fact this gives a huge window for the target to either escape or allies to help.

Yes she is a safe laner and hard to kill. But she is also one of the weaker aggressive champs and is entirely skillshot reliant. She misses charm and shes useless in a fight.

And then there is Yasuo. Passive shield, Windwall, and dashes means he is EXTREMELY safe and matchups come down entirely to him messing up. He's not broken in that his team fighting sucks and is team comp dependent. But as a laner he is extremely mindless and easy. Skillshots no longer threaten you, mana management no longer matters, absurdly easy wave clearing, etc.

Serevas2 votes

How is he safe through his dashes? He can only dash through enemy minions meaning you go towards the enemy, that's literally the opposite of safe.

It's also as though you didn't read any of the previous posts because the very complaints you threw up about yasuo were directly addressed. Most of his match ups are pitiful if you understand how Yasuo works, which you clearly don't.

You know what champions make Yasuo's life difficult? Basically every champion played in the current meta aside from Orianna, then if you want to take a reach with the whole meta thing Cassiopeia and Varus have a hard time against him as well.

You realize that if you don't blow everything you have into his wind wall, and actually have a modicum of self restraint, you then have 22 seconds to do whatever you want to him and he's completely vulnerable. A basic attack pops his shield and gives you that window as well.

Furthermore if you're at the point where you're using Q again you're attacking the wrong target, can't hit skillshots, or super far behind as most people are in fact 100-0 from a full combo.

KatCraft2 votes

Haha I understand Yasuo I play the champ mate. and not at bronze 2 either. The dashes make him safe because you can strafe easily to minions adjacent to you, and a free escape when you go to trade.

There are a few picks that counter Yasuo, but you can use that argument for any champ and proves fck all mate. But even in bad matchups, he has extremely easy wave clearing even without shyv so you can choose to afk farm and with his shield and wall good luck harassing him with anything.

22 seconds is not nearly long enough to get much done considering he can just choose to run back, regen his shield, mindlessly q and auto the wave and you've made no progress against him. 22 seconds is not nearly as long or meaningful as you think it is. And it's not exactly hard to avoid being auto attacked or punish a mage that's trying to auto attack you. Range is supposed to counter assassins, but you ask the player to walk right up to him before you can harass, yeh that's fair.

It is possible to 100-0 with ahri but the amount of items and ap required is higher than other champs like fizz or le blanc to do so and you can outplay her if she misses her skillshots. if you are a squishy and faced with these champs or some one like Zed, there is no out play potential at all you are just dead.

Serevas2 votes

Yeah that custom game in your match history is tremendously skilled, good job slaughtering basic bots. You have however played a shit load of Ahri, which is why I find it such a hilarious coincidence that you just happened to come in to try and defend the champion.

You literally said the same thing about Ahri that you're complaining about Yasuo. "You can outplay her if she misses skillshots." Just like how you can beat Yasuo if Yasuo screws up in lane, weird how those are basically identical statements at their core. If the person playing the champion screws up you can win.

And I love the zero counterplay to Zed comments as always. Taking summoner spells to deal with your lane is a great way to counter play things like assassinssummoner 3 summoner 21 are both excellent spells to take against Zed if you're that worried about getting assassinated in lane.

Him strafing to minions adjacent to you is your own fault for fighting him inside your own minion wave that's what I'm talking about with simple, always true counter play. If you're not playing a melee into the match up that shouldn't be too hard to accomplish because everyone who plays Yasuo is aggressive. Furthermore if you ventured outside of playing Ahri in mid lane, which as of late according to your match history you haven't, you'd realize that you beat Yasuo with just about any other champion quite easily, and frankly Ahri even has a 53% win ratio against Yasuo as well.

For being Gold and super arrogant about it you think you'd understand basic concepts like that. If you want to continue the ad hominem form of arguments please continue, but you clearly are talking yourself in circles and simply attacking the arguer rather than the arguments any longer, so this is a complete waste of time, so I'll leave you with the below information.

Yasuo's win rate against common mid lane champions:

Annie: 39.15% Anivia: 45.18% Xerath: 46.5% Talon: 44.42% LeBlanc: 49.14% Katarina: 48.51% Cho'Gath: 45.38% Viktor: 49.26% Zed: 49.49% Lissandra: 45.91% Ahri: 47.46% (My mistake, her win rate against him is 52.54%, that wind wall sure does shut Ahri down hard.) Fizz: 50.26% Diana: 49.64% Twisted Fate: 49.48% Orianna: 53.01%

Only one match up that you would typically encounter with a severe difference to his benefit, as .26% advantage is basically going even in my book.

KatCraft1 votes

I've been playing this game for three years. Looking at my recent match history is going to tell you nothing mate lmao. You know why I played Yasuo against bots? Because I felt like playing something brainless but didn't want to play that toxic shit against another player.

You can juke and dodge skillshots. You can't make Yasuo miss his windwall or outplay a passive shield. There's a significant difference. You know how to play against Ahri in lane? Stand behind minions making her charm worthless, and not stand still like a mindless idiot. If you think there is no counter play to Ahri I don't know what to tell you.

Haha Your own advise to dealing with Yasuo is be near your minion wave, how else are you supposed to aa his shield off? You aren't consistent. How can you tell me he isn't safe when even you say you can't go near your own minion wave?

Also I find it really weird you trying to question my judgement when you are in the lowest rank in this game with less than 200 games played. League of legends is the only game I see this, in Starcraft this doesn't happen. Really strange.

I am not talking about game winrates, or that he is overpowered. If you clearly read my post I said his laning is oppressive. I already stated Yasuo is not broken in that he is team comp orientated and most players in solo Q won't build a team around him and Yasuo players will usually lock him into a game regardless of how bad the pick is. Unless Yasuo is disgustingly fed, he needs multiple sources of knock up and tanking in a team fight or else he is useless.

Yasuo also dies to ganks easily. The one counter to him you did not bother to mention or realise is If you have a good jungler and if he wants to camp your lane, THEN Yasuo is an easy target. But there will be games where your jungler has to help somebody else. There will be games were the Yasuo was picked into a good team comp. Those games are nightmare fuel.

You should realise that winrates and games are not determined by who the best champs in lane are.

Serevas2 votes

Tell you what. I'll play nothing, but ranked for a week, and since I gain upwards of 30lp per win, maybe then you can look at my rank. I don't play much ranked because the toxic assholes in bronze, who apparently inhabit OCE as well, are rampant within the division. There's 4 types of people in bronze. The people with a massively unstable internet connection that result in continuous disconnections and 4v5 games for their teams. The people who jumped straight into ranked without even having a proper page of t3 runes. The people who rage endlessly at their team for their own mistakes, blaming everything that happens in the game on someone else. And finally the people who the "soft reset" dumped them out of silver and into bronze to deal with the other 3 groups of people, which they got tired of doing and stopped playing ranked all together.

I didn't say there's no counter play to Ahri, the counter play to Ahri is also simple, but all it does is make her push you into tower unless you have enough waveclear to deal with the fact that she heals all of the harass you give her back simply by pushing the wave.

You know how else you AA his shield off? Not brainlessly walking up the center of the lane, there are other parts of the lane to stand in that aren't right on top of your minions. If you can't understand that, you haven't learned a thing in your three years of playing. It's also pretty simple to understand when you can move forward, like idk, not when his tornado is up. The counter play to Yasuo is so brain dead obvious that anyone who doesn't get it shouldn't step outside of bot matches. No counter play to a passive shield lmfao, if that were true the shield would be constant, never deteriorate, never break, and never need to charge up.

I didn't mention the ganking counter because that's not consistent, it relies on another person, the entire focus of my argument is consistent, always true counterplay, which you would understand if you actually had some reading comprehension.

You're right in that win rates aren't determined exclusively by who does better in lane, however, there is something to be said when a champions sits above 52% against each champion match up. There might just be a common denominator involved in that equation, but what do I know I'm a lower rank than you.

It's just weird that you sit here and tell me he's super safe in lane through his dashes, then tell me he's super vulnerable to everything. Please pick a side, arguing both sides is a waste of time for us both. In fact I'm realizing this entire argument is a waste of time in the first place, you're very stuck in the rank means everything, and clearly it's impossible that a lower rank can have any understanding of the game at all mentality. I was going to go into this big thing about how your ranked MMR is in the toilet and is equivalent to my MMR in normals, but just knowing you're dropping out of the rank with which your arguments to heavily hinge on, while I'm climbing is enough satisfaction for me, and I'll leave you with this last tidbit.

I'm just curious, why do you think it is that pro teams employ coaches and analysts that are lower ranks than their players? Clearly the players can't have anything of value to gain from these people are they're higher ranked so they must know much better than each of these people, just seems like a waste of money when you look at it with that approach, but that's just me.

I'm actually done replying to this now, because it's just a waste of time to argue a point with people like you in this game. So you have a good one.

Aboylova922 votes

The problem with Ahri is she's too safe/consistent. As a mage with solid wave clear, she also has 4 flashes once she hits six that can be used offensively of defensively. Similar to Zed before some of the changes, where his wave clear, mixed with his reliablity was just too good. Her q move speed probably does need to go, or maybe up the CD of her ult, as with morello's it's like a 50 or 60 CD at rank 1.

Chromatic Eagle2 votes

Either reduce her movement speed, its duration, or move her mobility to her W.

Yas clears waves and has an execute. Either way both don't need nerfs Riot needs to work on buffing older champs like Lux, Anivia, Brand, Galio, Swain, Karthus, especially in their early game. Most of the older mages has really wonky mechanics with high cost spells it seems like newer champs have like less than 50 mana costs spells with pretty low cooldowns.

Ferus and Ferrum2 votes

FIrst, yas has no execute in his kit. Secondly if you think Anivia, Brand, and Swain need buffs idk what to say. Karhus is meant to be a late game god, and lux just got more buffs. I cant think of any "wonky" mechanics in any of the champions you just mentioned. Lux is a cc bot with high burst damage. Anivia is a tanky monstrosity with zone control and situational burst. Galio is a situational pick into majority mage comps that is meant to be able to tank and dish out high damage for a tank or mage. Swain is a thick sustained damage mage with a snare and a slow and a damage amplifier. Karthus has less crowd control and requires positioning like an adc because of howfragile he is and once he does die he unloads massive ult damage on this killers. Their kits are pretty simple or straightforward, and all of them can be stronger than yasuo if he has no initator.

tl;dr I don't see your point.
