Buffs give 100 less experience (33%) despite being considerably harder

Reading the patch notes, this looks like a terrible mistake:

On giving buffs to allies: "Junglers have more control over how much experience/gold they give up..."

Buff: xp: 260 -> 100 gold: 60 -> 42

small monsters: xp: 20 -> 50 gold: 7 -> 22

Doing the math for you (2 small monsters per buff), that's a previous total of 300xp and 74 gold for the camp. The new total is 200xp and 86 gold.

That's 100 less experience (or 33%) for a camp which is now stronger, spawns later, and gives a shorter buff.

How in the hell is this balanced?

Honestly, I think the xp was meant to balance equally, and Riot forgot to carry a 1 and ended up off by 100. The buff should give 200xp rather than 100, shouldn't it?

They don't want junglers to b level 3 before the laners, or level 6 before the laners do. They've essentially gutted the idea of early level ganks so that the jungler isn't as influential in the early game anymore. Unfortunately, this means that counter jungling is extremely strong right now. If you go into the jungle and take their mobs, they're going to be very, very far behind and won't be able to do anything.

They already delayed when they spawn... If they really wanted to delay the power spike it would be a lot better to just delay their spawn times to something like 4min then... Taking away 1/3 of the xp at all stages of the game adds up a lot!

I think it makes sense...now junglers can be like, "well, I'm only giving up the ex." I know if I fall behind early game as a jungler I hate giving up the buffs simply for the xp even if I know my laner can use it better.

Riot made these changes so that buffs benefit nonjunglers comparatively less than before and to increase the difficulty of the jungle because it was just dumb how much control junglers had over games.

It's perfectly fine that they made the jungle more difficult. It's also fine to make the buffs less powerful (but red is actually more powerful now). It isn't cool that a class which already falls behind in xp now gets 1/3 less xp from it's 2 biggest sources of xp (and dragon gives 1/2 xp as well). The xp increases to other camps are very nice, but they also doubled the respawn time, so I have no idea how that will balance out. I'm just saying lowering the Buff xp is silly... They're the hardest camp, they should give the most xp. Gromp now gives more xp than clearing the whole blue buff camp I believe (as a buff camp previously got you to barely level 2, and now you can hit level 2 off of Gromp).
