Unless I can counter him with something I'm comfortable on (Nasus, Malphite, Maokai), I seriously consider dodging. Playing as a non tank melee vs him is one of the most unfun and downright unfair circumstances I've ever faced in league of legends. I'm still baffled as to why he can exist in his current state. I don't care that he's not spammed in competitive or spammed in general like he once was; his kit is still total bullshit and his gameplay needs massive adjustments if he's ever actually going to feel fair.

He just punishes teammates mistakes like blitzcrank except instead of pulling he pokes the sht out of their healthbars..

Just like most champs , he gets crapped on by cc, but when he is cc`d he cannot really survive very long unless he built pretty tanky in which case he is gonna be easier to ignore and harder for him to snowball himself...

He also makes really good use of lethality, like you said as not playing against him unless you are tank...just get cloth armor it will help alot...

I was even able to completely shut one down as a Veigar support just because he can`t really do much to control mages without poking them with his giant orb. given isnt 100% a control mage though, but he did do very well against him.

That and veigar does the 2 things that you do to counter an op, you cc them and you burst them...like any other champ that is not broken and op.

Jayce's very oppressive laning phase is balanced out by his being complete dead weight late game, and no good Jayce's do not make his late game good. Being both a shitty version of Xerath and, idk, Yasuo (two very good late game champions) does not make his late game good. It makes it bad. His artillery capabilities are pathetic and his dueling and dive potential are laughable.

I would like to see him be changed to be less binary though. Shave some early game power off in exchange for actually being a champion late game. This would make him healthier and easier to balance IMO.

I play Jayce top. MonkeyKing Gragas Chogath Ekko all do really well against him. Sustain yourself while he wastes his mana pool and you'll be able to initiate on him easily. He's also very easy to gank - get one kill ahead on him and you'll have a much easier time laning.

That's well and good when you get an opportunity to counterpick him (then he just plays safe and farms up, which feels equally unfair given his lane dominance). I'm mentioning the frustration of picking first and he's used to counterpick you. It feels like rock/paper/scissors, it's completely unfair because you're incapable of even farming under tower.

I don't mind Darius, Kled or Renekton because you can actually farm under tower vs them. And in Kled and Darius' case, there are several melees who can fight them. Pantheon is bullshit too but he's slated for a rework afaik so there's no point in mentioning him.

Eh. Darius at least has mechanics built into his kit that directly mean he's not great at harassing under tower, but between "lol, i'mo face roll combo you at every opportunity and then heal up because I have neither a resource nor meaningful cooldowns" and "lol same, and also my passive directly immunizes me to the negative consequences of turret dives", I wouldn't included Renek or Kled in that category.
