@Meddler You said in 6.9, Grievous Wounds' functionality would possible be reverted

Krys Star··12 votes·22,465 views

Did you guys decide not to go through with this after all, or are there still experimenting of how it can work? I've noticed Morello's now applies GW for 8 seconds up from 4, but the tooltip on the pbe still says self-healing for Ignite. D:

I don't want Soraka to be permabanned anymore. I wanna play her again. Meddler pls :c

We will be reverting Grievous Wounds so that it affects all healing again. That should be happening in 6.9, not sure exactly when it's due to hit PBE.

toymachine1 votes

At least make it reduce healing by 25% and not 50%. Or something like can only be applied once every ~15-20 seconds and lasts for ~3-6 seconds so it is possible to play around it. Constantly applying a 50% healing debuff with AA's will reduce some champions effectiveness by 50% and that souldn't be allowed. If it is then i will gladly accept the opposite item, reducing AA's by 50% :D

The changes made to GW has made champions that rely on healing affects to become too strong and easily balanced, which is wry they are reverting the changes dude. The way GW existed before is perfect.

Easily balanced as they are easy to balance/tune? Not sure if I understand what you are saying.

"The way GW existed before is perfect". No, it is NOT perfect at all, reducing champions ultimate abilities, regular abilities and core parts of their kit by applying GW through AA's with 100% uptime is nothing but cancer. "Hi, look at me, i can reduce a champion's power by %50 only by AA'ing or casting spells".

GW could be a item active ability you can apply on a enemy champion which lasts for X seconds having X cooldown.

So, can you also revert Wish so that it removes Grievous Wounds again?

The whole point of the debuff removal was so that Wish would heal the maximum amount it could (and it should, it's an ultimate). It didn't prevent the reapplication of Grievous Wounds, it simply ensured that this one spell every 120~ seconds or so was having the full impact it should.

Krys Star4 votes

Well, last week when I asked Meddler about if Soraka would receive any compensation buffs, he said she likely would starting with Wish removing Grievous Wounds again, and going from there if she needs any more. I still think Wish should remove Grievous Wounds, and make targets immune to it for 5~ seconds.

Ren Ex3 votes

make targets immune to it for 5~ seconds

I'd prefer being able to actually kill that Mundo or Swain, thank you very much. It's bad enough that current GW just makes it bareable.

RISE KoolGus1 votes

I'm fairly sure he's not serious. That is way beyond the amount of power allowed in her kit.

FluxBound1 votes

But what about Mundo? Isn't he allowed to have an ultimate that heals the maximum amount?

In large part due to the changes to Soraka over the past few months if Riot reverts the change to Grievous Wounds (and thus ignite) Soraka will be very weak in-lane. In addition there is also Executioners Calling and Mortal Reminder that will make Soraka weak into the late game. An auto attack will keep the 40% debuff on everyone. This will reduce a single champions overall effectiveness by 40%, and this on top of the many nerfs/changes.

Most people agree Soraka was in a good spot before the Grievous Wounds change. Below or around 50% win rate. This is because I feel ignite (GW) alone combined with her old kit from a year ago were balanced because there was counter play.

Now I understand why Riot would nerf/rework her due to the Grievous Wounds change. It made her broken. I however dont understand why Riot would then revert the change months later but not revert any of the changes/nerfs to her that were instituted because of the change in the first place.

I want Soraka to be balanced so I can play her again to my hearts content... but I dont want her to be Olaf'ed. I fear she's gonna get forgotten in all of this 6.9 commotion and left in the trash bin for months or years.

So please when you revert the grievous wounds change keep an eye on Raka. She's going to be very weak maybe even close to useless after the enemy team gets their grievous wounds items.

~ Respectfully and thank you.

well with GW the way it is now shes cancer

Cael Prime2 votes

I couldn't agree more. I want them to balance her. I dont want her to be overpowered or useless. I want her to be a viable champion.

Right now she's overpowered, we all agree on that. This change to Grievous Wounds however, without adjustments to her current kit, will make her un-viable.

Why? Simply stated because they have weakened her entire kit to adjust for the nerfed version of Grievous Wounds that made her OP. Now if they introduce the old version of Grievous Wounds back into the game but with her weakened kit, she will be very weak.

They need to revert her kit back to how it was last year, before this entire kerfuffle with changing Grievous Wounds. People generally accepted she was annoying before then but manageable. Unlike now.

It's Riot's Cycle of Life (TM)

Nerf the champion, nerf the thing that made the champion broken in the first place, leave the champion nerfed.

She was cancer before current GW as well, why do people keep ignoring that?

Soraka is still good in ARAM and that has a global 50% healing debuff. I imagine she will still be good.

Soraka is still good in ARAM because:

1-Healing is far more important in ARAM where you can't base. 2-She is higher level and have more gold, which compensates a bit her heals being less effective. 3-She tilts 40 to 100% of the enemy team.

:) :) :) :)

I doubt it.

In addition there is also Executioners Calling and Mortal Reminder that will make Soraka weak into the late game. An auto attack will keep the 40% debuff on everyone. This will reduce a single champions overall effectiveness by 40%, and this on top of the many nerfs/changes.

The way mortal reminder works means it's a lategame item, buying it early will come with a big trade off in damage, more than that due to how it works, this item is mostly an adc item, and adcs can't freely autoattack anyone they want, they have easy access to the frontline, but these guys aren't too reliant on soraka for survival anyway, and to whom by getting mortal reminder they will sacrifice a 15% damage boost to,soraka will generally focus on the backline, which is hard for carries who have mortal reminder to access,so no,this won't affect her lategame much either.

Most people agree Soraka was in a good spot before the Grievous Wounds change.

No,most bronzies think that(well and naturally white knights,I mean fizz players think he is healthy,so yeah),the more experienced and capable players disagree with that, and think she was extremely obnoxious even before this change.

Below or around 50% win rate.

That never happened,it was always above 50%

This is because I feel ignite (GW) alone combined with her old kit from a year ago were balanced because there was counter play.

Well,you feel wrong.

Now I understand why Riot would nerf/rework her due to the Grievous Wounds change. It made her broken. I however dont understand why Riot would then revert the change months later but not revert any of the changes/nerfs to her that were instituted because of the change in the first place.

Because she is too strong as is,though maybe giving her gw removal on her ult might be sensible(mostly due to ignite),but that's it.

I want Soraka to be balanced so I can play her again to my hearts content... but I dont want her to be Olaf'ed. I fear she's gonna get forgotten in all of this 6.9 commotion and left in the trash bin for months or years.

Yeah we all wish that was the case but for some strange reason riot can't leave this cancer to rot.

So please when you revert the grievous wounds change keep an eye on Raka. She's going to be very weak maybe even close to useless after the enemy team gets their grievous wounds items.

Yeah no,and quite likely will need more nerfs,or reworks,I don't know why we don't just delete her at this point.

Grievous wounds on every spell is unhealty at 50%

It literaly means soraka gets to be overpowered unless you got grievous

Do some restrictions? Maybe an active. After you hit an ability you can mark an enemy champion reduce all healings done by him for 50% for 3 seconds . Cooldown 30 seconds

I wholeheartedly thank you and sincerely love you for this. and I think im not the only one 4Head , the GW change has been insanely unreasonable to me (and I can see where you're coming from every time you change the game somehow, and the GW nerf was super weird for me) but now you're bringing it back. Thank you Riot <3 KappaPride

Zarkkast4 votes

Soraka shouldn't be completely denied by 800g, she needs to be balanced around her own kit, not around the enemies.

Krys Star3 votes

Tell that to Zed.

Blackquill2 votes

I want to disagree with you but that reasoning is just too strong :c wp, sir.

CyberSecs1 votes

Meanwhile... "QSS no longer cleanses Zed ult" ... I just wanted to let you know, dear strangers, that I am solely blaming this blasphemy of bad news on you 2. Cherios!

Blackquill1 votes

I hope you are aware that we both were making comments with this knowledge in mind. I honestly dont care much for that because Meddler or someone else already said that they would look at champions like Zed because they expect him to be strong after that, so immediate nerfs will follow. What i am more pissed about is the fact that Mikaels is going to remain a bad item. I wish the ability to cleanse debuffs would be given to that item.

Sightless661 votes

They are telling that to zed. Have you seen the qss change? Well, I'm sure you have by now even if you hadn't then.

Nobody builds that anyway. I've lost games because adcs don't even know what it is and refuse to believe me when I tell them Vlad will carry if they don't buy it.
