Giving trinity force 20% CDR was a mistake

HateDaddy··6 votes·1,349 views

It's going to end up getting Jax and Irelia nerfed into dumpster tier because they were champions that never went out of their way to get CDR but still scale really well with it. And now they're getting 20-30% CDR a game and their cooldowns are hilariously even lower.

I only fear this as a Jax player because you guys won't nerf the trinity CDR to 10% because you won't remove stinger/sheen's CDR and you'll end up nerfing his base stats again and make him much worse off. This was supposed to be a DPS item that was slightly favored by some casters, now its literally God tier for both casters and DPS champions.

This CDR galore balancing act is a mistake

same here, main jax played him with item 3065 item 3078 had 30% cdr and E cd was 5.4, i kept up for the full duration which means that the cd was 3.4. Q cd was like 4 sec, was perma jumping the carry, not talking about W cd. and riot will nerf his E cd, i know it, and i will be like what the fuck was the point of cdr if you nerf the cooldown?

I'm telling you, it's insane how often his Q is off CD now and because of gunblade changes and the 25% healing you can get with SV, his drain tanking is insane. I just don't want them to destroy him with nerfs again the way in s4 when they olaf'd his base defensive stats

Just switch the Stinger for Recurve Bow, return the CDR to 10%, and give it like 15 on-hit physical damage.

Like they should've done in the first place instead of trying to make Stinger more useful. (For the record, Recurve should build into Nashor's as well considering it's an on-hit item. Then we could just delete Stinger, or keep it as a TT-only item like Wicked Hatchet and make it more distinct.)

Actually its not 20% CDR that brought Jax back. Its change from Crit to ATtack speed. 20% CDR is great buff

right I agree but balancing Jax around attack speed is easy. CDR? Not so much

Well TBH Jax is ok now that Devourer is gone and Guinsoo isnt as stupid as it was before. Neither his ban rate, nor his pick rate went up. And his winrate actually went down a bit. He is under 49% winrate and considering he isnt really mechanically difficult, it says something. For example Hecarim has similar pick rate as Jax and higher winrate, and Jax is much easier to play than Hec.

Jax has never had a high winrate and I'm saying he's tier 1 based on how good I see him being, naturally it'll be awhile before stats back that up and whether or not he sees pro play (which I suspect he will). Then it'll all trickle down from there as it usually does.

top lane jax is dumpster. its better than before. but its dumpster. he can't even beat champions he counters unless somehow he magically doesn't fed before he gets 3 items.

You honestly know nothing about Jax if you think this is true lmao

His sheen spike is insane

His trinity spikes is one of the best spikes in the game and very few champions can duel him once he gets this. Hell, most champions can't duel him post 6 as long as he has sheen or phage. You really think he needs 3 items to do work? lmao

And me trying to main Corki... The new trinity force is messed up on him. Makes buying essence reaver bad and requires me to buy more crits to make it handy.

Unsure if it'll even be possible to get to level 7 as him for me.

By Season VII, Rito James™ should just remove CDR as a stat entirely and just reduce all cooldowns by 30-40%. Because yes, it's getting stupid how CDR is being put on everything "core" for each (non-support) champion class.

What do you mean non support? Are you saying supports don't have access to CDR?

It's going to end up getting Jax and Irelia nerfed into dumpster tier because they were champions that never went out of their way to get CDR but still scale really well with it.

Riot could be forcing a situation where they'd have to rework irelia sooner rather than later. Before Soraka was reworked, riot linked her Q to her W for the first time and she was broken. Instead of reverting that specific change to fix her they broke her legs and then reworked her at first opportunity. The more broken irelia is now, the more urgently they can push her to the top of the rework list.

I'm guessing that if she becomes pick/ban in the LCS, riot will then decide if she's going to be a sooner rework or a later one and nerf her appropriately... bigger nerf, sooner rework I'm guessing.

How am I crying? I think the trinity changes were bad and i don't want to see Jax get nerfed the way he did in S4. I don't think you understand how hard these nerfs hit him back then. If riot simply adjusts his cooldowns on Q at all stages and later ranks on E, I'm totally fine with that. But that's not what they're going to do. They'll randomly nerf his ults passive proc damage, his w mana costs will go up and probably see a ratio hit instead of adjusting what's wrong with him in the first place.

jax is crying, I didn't mention you personally at all.

I understand and its probably gonna happen. Irelia is going to shrug it off and jax is going to cry.

hence the illustration

Irelia is just gonna get her power tuned down some, jax is going to need a new strategy. They are afraid to touch her mana or early farming damage it seems like.
