This 'Role-based champ select' and punishments for 'not sticking to your role'

Anyone else feel this is forcing a meta too hardcore? Its true...the most effective thing is usually to have solo mid and top, a jungler and a duo bot, and there could be a lot of trolling if people were not punished for stealing roles, but its also straight up wrong - no other game in the world forces you to play a multiplayer game in a certain way against threat of punishment.

What if theres a duo that wants to duo top or duo mid?

What if your not playing like a support in terms of build (i am shocked that it is punishable) or summoners? What if you choose to take CS and simply don't believe in relying 100% on some other random person to carry you?

DOTA doesn't do this and they are managing. Why are we doing this? Inting, hacking, botting and flaming/toxicity should be punishable, but I really can't think of any other reason punishments should be dealt out in a multiplayer game.

You just have to go to blind pick for that. None forces you to do anything there and there won't be any punishment if you wanna duo top or whatever

ill agree with this if it is punishable to "play how we want" its not really a game now is it that allows us to play freely. if this is true then why not put a non breakable CC on us all that forces us to walk to X in "champ select role" lane and stay there till X time (excluding leashes) thats what your pretty much describing. and if we dare walk out of lane the CC will force you back into lane. (btw yes i hate forced metas)
