Elder Dragon Unnecessary

My team is winning a completely 1 sided stomp fest! We got Rift Herald Twice, 4 dragons to their 0, 3 inhibitors down and all of oyrs are still up, and we're up about 25 - 30 kills.

Instead of ending the game, our teammate is like, "Don't end, I've never got elder before, stall so we can get it."

We do and they steal elder. Then they ace us. Then they take baron. They they ace us again.

Fortunately we were way too far ahead for them to make a comeback, but the fact they were able to ace us twice in a row with and have us cowering under our turret from that far behind is ridiculous.

They were about to ace us a third time (killed 3 of us) but had to recall to stop winions. Other 2 teammates recalled and waited on our respawn, their elder buff ran out and we won the game.

BUT THERE IS ABSOLUTELY ZERO FUCKING REASON THAN 1 STOLEN DRAGON SHOULD MAKE THAT MUCH OF A FUCKING DIFFERENCE! GET RID OF ELDER ASAP!

It is 100% unnecessary. Elder & baron both are honestly.

Keep the elemental drakes, make rift herald permanently respawn in place of baron.

After that, we can discuss an alternative to keystones (I still prefer the runes/masteries system).

Then after that we can discuss changing items with certain passives to fully defensive items.

Revert GA Remove offensive stats and give defensive compensation to BV and ZH.

Let's make League great again.

You guys didn't finish and lost elder to a team "25-30" kills below you. You 100% deserved to lose there.

Why? Because they made 1 mistake? Oh, and then you realize enemy team has made 10+ mistakes but it is okay if they win the game just because they were lucky enough to steal elder dragon, right? Someone give this man an award. His logic is 'unique'.

Why? Because they made 1 mistake?

Losing elder dragon, getting aced, losing Baron, and getting aced is more than 1 mistake.

Zeyphel4 votes

Is it that difficult for you to understand? Getting Aced is due to losing elder dragon (because he is extremely OP) which is the 1 mistake they did that almost made them lose the game. He said that they were stomping enemy team, and after enemy team managed to luckily steal elder dragon, all this happened. So curios all this happened after enemy team stole elder dragon, such coincidences...

Have you ever heard the expression "Don't play with your food". They were fool hardy and yes if there gonna stall a game out when it could of already been won then yes this was there mistake. Everyone should know what the knew elder does its pretty self explanatory. For someone to say "I have never seen Elder lets wait and get it" Is inviting disaster. The enemy team used the this teams over confidence against them.

Or... they did the classic SoloQ move and only one to two people were taking elder while the rest was getting pointless farm. The two at elder died to the enemy team, they got elder and instead of letting it be they decided to run one by one to the enemy who aced them. You speak like people in SoloQ never throw games. So many times my team has been 10+ kills behind and still manage to comeback because the enemy team decided that they were going to be morons and not end the game and let us pick them off one by one.

The "1 mistake" was MASSIVE! They not only didn't just finish the game, they lost elder to an enemy team down 20+ kills, and were apparently winning teamfights by the skin on their teeth because the eldar execute lost them the teamfight AND had lost enough turrets/inhibs that a single respawn timer was enough to lose the match. And of course this isn't the account he plays on anymore so you can't even see what exactly what going on.

I'm sorry if you feel that making mistakes shouldn't matter, but some of us don't spam ff at 15 because we are down a kill...

That one mistake wasn't massive, it is just that elder dragon is extremely OP. It is actually the same mistake than losing any other dragon. They miscalculated and lost the objetive. But what about the other 20 minutes they were winning so hard? Enemy team spent almost the whole game making mistakes, but hey they won 1 single objetive (which is OP). Therefore they deserve to win. 'unique' logic

It is not the same mistake as losing any other dragon it is the mistake of losing elder. The buff gives your team an execute. The other mistakes they made did not almost cost them game like them missing elder did. Its called Risk/Reward. They risked waiting for elder and the other team was rewarded for them stalling.

I am not saying the cost of losing an elder dragon is the same as losing a normal drake. In fact, I am saying Elder Dragon is extremely overpowered. But the mistake is the same: miscalculation. The difference? Stealing a normal drake gives you some advantage or helps you come back a little bit into the game. Elder dragon? If by any means you manage to steal elder dragon you can win a game even if you and your team were playing like monkeys during 20 minuts straight or even more, even if you are extremely behind.

Why is this so difficult to understand? Remember, these people defending Elder are the same people that you see complaining on the boards about games being coinflip.

I missed Smite on Fire Drake. I missed Smite on Elder Drake.

Functionally, this is the same mistake.

All mistakes are not equal. Even equals mistakes will not have equal consequences depending on when they are done and if the ennemy exploit them.

I'm not a big fan of the dragon execute either, but honsetly, the only unnecessary thing that happend is you guys not only going for elder instead of easily finishing, but also allowing the to steal. Given how far ahead you were, your opponents should never be able to approach dragonpit without getting cought in a fight and die, and there certainly was no need to rush elder with their jungler alive and with steal potential.

Though still, the elder is quite a massive swing and in less onesided matches, he can mean one slip up on either side ends the game which is not ok.

How did a team that far behind steal it from you?

Elder is both a game finisher and a comeback mechanic. If the team is that far ahead yet still loses Elder, even to someone like Nunu or Cho, then the losing team deserves a chance to come back.

old elder already had good comeback potential. this one is just r3tarded.

People don't want 1 sided stomps and want comeback potential. This is what people have been complaining about for years now. Riot has finally given it.

Update: We lost elder to a sniper team, it wasn't a fight at the dragon pit. They used 2 ults to steal it (jungler didn't smite steal).

Also, elder dragon isn't just an execute. Team fights weren't close, a lot of you forget to factor in the absurd amount of TRUE BURN DAMAGE elder dragon does. 90 TRUE damage a second is very potent and makes a big difference.

I can't believe people actually think you can get stomped all game, throw random ults in the dragon pit, then actually be able to win the game. Don't be ridiculous guys.

It's the closest we can get right now to having each team's Nexus stand up and run it down mid without actually being Nexus Blitz.

That made me laugh.

People: It's impossible to have a come back! All gamesare just a one-sided stomp!

Riot adds a new feature that makes come backs possible

People: Wtf Rito! Drake too OP. Almost lost while being ahead !

Interesting idea, feel free to weigh in, what if Elder gave the Dragon Soul instead of a short buff. That would be interesting.

Starcraft243ver1 votes

Baron is necessary so full artillery/clear composition can't work and stall forever (thinking of something like ziggs/lux/xerath/anivia).

Riot was trying (and failed) on making it so a comeback can happen. Instead of addressing the issue (damage) they add more damage.
