Nasus sustain rework idea

Change his passive from flat lifesteal to being a grasp of the undying type of passive that heals based on the enemy max health, not his own(something like 2% early game and 3-4% late game). Make his autos do bonus magic damage for that healing. Probably need a cap on minions and monsters.

And if we were to decide to make him THE drain tank juggernaut gives his ult a different effect in that while it still gives AD it also heals Nasus for the damage he deals with his ult to enemies.

These changes would be a nerf to his lane sustain, his late game sustain of hitting a Q to heal for a ton of health, and his ability to basically ignore people to just farm while healing for metric shit tons on minions.

These changes would be a buff to his teamfight potential, his late game sustain vs tanky targets, and his survivability in the late game.

Nasus is in a good spot. Easy to abuse him out of his lane and punishes people who don't know how to abuse him, pretty standard champion balance.

He is in a bit "too easy to play around" spot. Deny him early, take objectives when he's trying to catch up, kite him easily lategame. And he's far from the huge duellist spot he used to be in, due to powercreep on other champions and items. He can still do things, but it's like you have to be quite better than your opponent to carry. The problem of lifesteal is something worth talking about, because as a juggernaught Nasus is faced with frontlines with a good amount of armor, making his lifesteal nearly worthless, especially when he's being focused. And since a decent portion of his powerbudget is in that, it's complicated. Maybe he should be more like Vladimir, where the amount of healing done doesn't depend as much on the enemy's resistances. And it's not a buff to his laning phase because minions have very low armor.

Exactly this. It is so easy to deny him and beat him unless you are a Nasus main and know how to out play almost any match up. The problem is that you really can't nerf his sustain without giving him a lot more power early game. For the sake of sounding like a broken record, I am going to say this again. The only place they can budget power differently in his kit without breaking him or ruining his identity is his W and E.

Just fought a Nasus as Fiora and lost because he's pretty bullshit, our jungler went afk, and our ADC was useless even though he got kills early, so I might be a little salty here fyi

So Nasus.

A good spot?

I had him at 42 stacks at 10 minutes. I left lane for literally a minute to go steal their jungler's blue, and he already had over doubled his stacks to 90. The problem with Nasus is the fact that he has infinite sustain at level 1 because of his 10% lifesteal base and that he has infinite trading potential as a result. It also means that gaining 3 damage every time you kill something with a Q is extremely easy to do consistently because you never have to leave.

This Nasus had approximately 480 stacks by 32 minutes. I went to fight him top lane by my tower, and he had 3.5k health with his build at the time.

item 3025 item 3065 item 3083 item 3751 item 3047

I ulted, hit every mark, parried a Q and initial E proc, and got him to tank 2 tower shots. His 20% lifesteal between his stacks made it so he could easily just 4 shot me and then continue to 4 shot my tower.

A full tank Nasus with nothing except IBG built for damage.

4 shotted me.

I know I'm not supposed to let him farm, but it was 10 minutes of farming. That's retarded.

Let's not mention the 99% slow and armor shred and bonus health + aoe damage from ult...

Rather than looking at the nasus, what was your build?

Something along the lines of item 3078 item 3071 item 3077 item 3082 item 1001

I could have used more pen, but armor just wouldn't have meant a whole lot to me in the end

Your build screwed you over. Defensive stats are required if you want to survive and especially if you want to fight a nasus. 1 component of Black Cleaver> Ninja Tabi> Finish Black Cleaver> Ravenous Hydra> Then defensive items based on what you need. Triforce is already not that great on fiora so building it first item is even worst. Tanks out scale squishy champions because they have high base damage and squishy champions typically stick with base armor and MR, but once you build even a single item against them it changes the fight completely.

The one problem with that statement is that you can't even call Nasus a tank. He's a hard bruiser. Fiora works the same way with her true damage, but she's been nerfed and infinite scaling hasn't? THEY JUST BUFFED VEIGAR.

Fiora is a bruiser because she builds mostly damage with a side of tank, nasus on the other hand builds 1 utility damage item (triforce or iceborn) and then full tank. But it also doesn't matter what you choose to classify nasus as, the fact is that build was very bad against nasus.

Nasus is easy to abuse early game. But the real problem with Nasus, he can get CC/Aoe very easily in team fights. If Riot were to change his abilities, at least give him some props for his Q or at least give him a better early game sustain over those who can abuse him fast.
