...every analogy has flaws bud. The fact that you cant find the actual value is a problem with your mentality.
Yea. I see that having better ap ratios is "better" for yi? But i really disagree that the changes are worth the effort and everyone with a brain has noticed that riot has a pattern of nerfing champions which can abuse certain problematic items rather than nerfing the item itself (see sejuani in cinderhulk meta). Then when they finally come to terms with the broken item, as they did with sated, then they dont revert the changes to the champions.
If i decide yi needs a nerf because of item X, then it only makes sense to nerf yi while that item exists. The nerf should come off. Thats SO much more simple from a design stand point than some obscure hybrid ap ratio changes that no one has any experience with.
For instance, people use to take third party anti virus on windows because windows didnt have good self protection built in. Now people are thinking that windows might be up to par in its own AV systems. As a result, they are sometimes uninstalling third party AV because it deteriorates the underlying system which was not designed for that AV software. SAME WITH YI. If you remove the underlying problem, which was the lack of quality built in AV, then you should also remove the patchwork changes you did to address the problem, which was the third Party AV.
That translates to the nerfs to yi and the lack of balance in a sated meta. You remove the nerfs as sated meta is also removed. There should be a system in place for riot to do stuff like this but there isnt because riot has no systematic design process or principals. Ive talked about it in other threads. All they have are a bunch of shitty subjective theories and no procedural integrity.
