Does Gnar do damage?

I don't seem to do damage as gnar.

I don't know why im getting downvoted for a simple question

Gnar does high base damages with a maxed out Boomerang and in Mega Gnar, his GNAR! does a ton of damage if collided, his kit synergizes with Black Cleaver so well for damage, for the most part he's tanky though.

Early game? Yes.

Late game? Not really, no.

Do you build damage, do you use damage masteries?

Beyond Black cleaver, Frozen Mallet, Maw and attack damage reds, no.

Lategame I feel absolutely useless. I ult and stun ~3 people and lock them down for a few seconds. Beyond that point, since majority of the enemy team is now building sunfire, gauntlet and spirit or some other tank item, nobody dies. I walk around smacking people for 20 damage until I'm picked off at the end of the teamfight.

Your team has to follow and clean after your initiation. I've seen Gnars to build AD, but it's risky - if you get out of position, you get 1 shotted by everyone.

It depends on how much lane bullying he can pull off, but after lane phase he's more valuable as a poker to soften down frontline tanks with %HP damage then shifting to dive and disrupt the enemy team for takedowns.
