I Never Learned How to Kite

I've been playing league off and on for years now, approximately since 2011. But in all of that time, I never learned how to kite enemies and, as a result, could never get the gist of playing ADC (not to mention the fact that it makes me a shit Fiora player, lol). And I really want to learn how so I can play some of the nastiest, hardest carries in the game. Twitch being among my favorites since he was one of the first champions I ever purchased.

Oh this is a simple one.

Kiting is basically being offensive from a safe distance.

That's why people fear Caitlyn Caitlyn in lane, her auto-attack range and W range is so high range and power scares most ADCs who don't have a tanky support.

In the mid or late-game some refer to orb-walking as kiting.

Orb walking is a constant switch from moving to basic-attacking back and forth.

Kalista Not like Kalista's hop, but more like a Lux Lux who Q -> Auto-attack -> Move -> E -> Auto-attack -> Move.

If you want to start with a few ADCs, try Tristana first and don't fight until you've gotten your ult.

Orb-walk ( Attack -> Move -> Attack ) minions so you don't get hit by their support's abilites.

If you ever master Orb-walking, you can master Vayne Vayne.

But in short, kiting is doing constant damage to an enemy without having to get too close or get close enough for them to attack you.

Like a kite which foreshadows someone's face, you're blocking their light.
