Since Riot is thinking about helping immobile mages, how about a item that decreases power on range?
Just to explain better, most of immobile mages are long range ones (with some exceptions of course). What I mean is, since we have items that have auras that are activated when on range and increase powerspike, why don't we have items that have more power the farther away they are instead? We could have an item that would be less powerful if the enemy champion gets on it's aura, and giving defensive stats instead.
Dumb example: UNIQUE PASSIVE, 5% AP. If an enemy champion is at 500 range or less, you deal less 10% AP but have Movement Speed increased for x seconds. With some CD if needed.
(pls don't see the example has ideal, it was just an idea for you guys to understand)
This would give more power to immobale laners, would help pokers, and most importantly, would also punish burst mages, since those are mostly combo reliant and usually go to enemies range. This would benefit lane pokers and DoT the most, even though some champions would need to be checked if their powerspike isn't too high (e.g. Anivia).
