Quality of games is actually garbage.

Take a look at my last 6 games. They were over in 22 mins, 24, 25, 24, 15, 23 mins. This is league of legends ? Games were decided in 10 mins, rest were just trying to end it.

Game length is not the problem.

It is how soon they are decided. ( A lot of them even in champ select !! )

I see Fid, Lee or Kat on my team, I didgeridoo. No exceptions.

Actually it is also a problem. Lol was made to be the most fun when you are at full build or close to full build. Instead they made sure that you get max to 2-3 items and game is over. And it creates problems of hard snowball and unbalanced sht like adcs at the same time

Sire Hippington1 votes

though that can be fixed without touching game times by just increaseing the goldflow relative to item costs, so you simply reach fullgear 25min in already. The bigger issue is that is comprimises the phases of the game, midgame for example is so short these days that you can't really use powerspikes in it befor it turns ton 'lategame', the early laneingphase nearly directly transitions into lategame where all but the TP users group up and dance around baron or other objectives...

T4underbolt1 votes

It also makes it impossible to come back promotes snowball out of control and makes it so roles like ADC rule the game with the cheapest and most powerfull build in the game.

just played another game, over in 22 mins. hmm

Because our lord and ruler TENCENT wants games to be shorter so it fits on PC bangs time slot.

This is exactly the problem. LoL has gone the way of mobile gaming. Yuck. When does LoL come out on Android and iOS?

deadlychuck1 votes

You joke, but they already did this.

It's called Arena of Valor (or King of Glory is the actual translation from Chinese), the game is owned by tencent as well, outright rips off half of their characters from league, both in theme and mechanics. Granted they also own the rights to DC in some manner, so they also have characters like batman, superman, and the joker.

The greatest irony of all of this? It seems that the average game in Arena of Valor lasts just around 20 minutes...

last 6 rankeds i played on plat 5-4 elo

22 minutes win, onesided stomp, our riven got FB on a level 2 gank and then proceeded to snowball the game

16 min defeat, enemy azir was 3-0 at min 6 due to a failed gank on bot. surrender vote went trough as they were getting inhibitor towers.

19 min win, i was 11-0 and 1v4ing people as ezreal. They didn't even surrender.

21 min defeat, i got FBed by their Draven on a level 1 flash stun from Leona and by min 10 our tier2 tower was falling and draven could nearly 1v3 us and our jungler

55 min defeat (WOW AN ACTUAL FUN GAME) lost to me missing smite on nashor. Still, it was a GOOD game. no report calls nor flaming after i missed smite (which is quite surprising tbh) because people actually had fun. That's the 8th game i played this season that got past the 30 min mark. I've played 51 ranked games.

11 min win enemy team opened mid after we were 1-0 on all lanes and secured cloud drake

#fun

ignorance at its finest. I actually won 4 of those 7 games. It isn't fun winning in 15 mins either. But yeah got stomped though.

You don’t address the part where you bitch every 12-23 hours.

Don’t like the game stop playing.

yes, games are decided at 10 - 20 mins the worst is when games that last 50 mins when you already know what's gonna happen after a few minutes lol

Wise Enough1 votes

You gotta love those 40min + games when you don't have anything to do with excess gold. Not.

exxpose4 votes

So don't go 0/4/0 in the first 7min of the game. Seems like common sense to me if you don't want the game to be decided within the first 10min.

Troll Socialist3 votes

I posted the exact same problem on the EUW board when patch 8.1 rolled out O.O

It's really boring to basicly win within 5 minutes.

Corrupt Bliss3 votes

Most of my games last anywhere between 25-45 minutes. It's pretty average, I think. Attitude has a lot to do with how you and your team pace the game. If y ou see FB given to the other team and think "GG WP It's over no0bz" you're going to perform less well, and in all contribute to a quicker game. The short games I have (15-24) are few and far between, and mostly happen because I'm not enjoying the game (mostly due to people giving up and not trying). I honestly think that games are at a good place time wise currently.

Osiris2123 votes

Look man in whichever season the juggernaut update happened the opposite happened. 35 to 50 minute games EVERY SINGLE GAME nearly. people bitched then. now the meta is fast and people bitch. now if the meta was really medium length games then people would bitch half and half to long a to short. you get where im going. Now lets look at from the company that makes this entirely free game that you have to pay zero money for to play (side note). is it better to have shorter games or longer games (answer) shorter. why. people don't have time to play 40 minute slug fest real life is just as fast as league games are today and most people would prefer shorter games so they don't have to commit as much time.

General Esdeath 1 votes

The only people who complained about long games were people who played early game bully champs and had no idea how to transition into a late game build. I remember Riven players complaining about her falling off, when in reality they built full damage with no defense and would get caught by CC with no QSS.

Just go item 3071 item 3074 item 3139 item 3111 item 3035 item 3026 and BOOM you have a Season 5 Riven who could be relevant late game.

Wild Herbivore2 votes

That's not true, they complained about the game still feeling like a coinflip so in a 50 min game your held hostage for 30+min cause the game was still decided in the first 10 min. Something has fundamentally changed in lol. I say it's the Forced 50% win rate & shifting it to a complete reliance on your team. This guy put's it simply. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YIBbktmVG0s&t=136s

In short, it feels unfair to have your winrate dictated by trolls, leavers, and players who you are matched with who are 300-500 MMR lower than you just to "balance" out the games. From experience, there is nothing more frustrating than dragging your team kicking and screaming to the end. EVERY SINGLE F***ING GAME. Dunkey was right, In every game of LoL there are 3 good players (or of equal skill) and 7 terrible players. It's down to pure coinflip. The only way to climb is to get lucky or be Master/challenger.

General Esdeath 1 votes

Oh I've long believed in the 50% win rate thing, the biggest issue I have? I still win my lane, but now I have a team mate afk because bot didn't follow up on a gank.

The enemy isn't getting better, my team is getting worse.

Wild Herbivore1 votes

Yup

the only advise i can give is to quit. Cause it's never going to improve.

BIue Monk3 votes

Hmmm, then quality must be fine if you pick 'tarded early champions :)

Silly Neeko2 votes

While i agree there is quite a bit of that, i have had quite a few good long games as well.

Lucian Waifu2 votes

My second to last game was 49 minutes, many others were in the 30-35 minute range. As long as the bot lane doesn't feed the game last a good amount of time.

RainXBlade2 votes

The problem with most games nowadays is that bot lane has too much agency over which team wins or loses.

Lucian Waifu1 votes

That's why you pick a champ that can help you have agency over your bot lane. Right that is Malz for me. Unfortunately I only have 8 games on him but in those 8 games I am 7-1 with a 4.23 kda so it seems to be working out pretty well.

RainXBlade1 votes

Oh I'm sorry. Not all of us like picking someone like Malz whose job is to just press R on the enemy ADC. Some of us like to pick people like Yasuo and such.

Lucian Waifu1 votes

If you think Malz only uses R on the adc you are going to lose a lot of fights.

RainXBlade1 votes

Well if I try to ult anyone else in teamfights, I'm either going to die from the enemy ADC right-clicking me or their tank support will just knock me out of my ult.

Lucian Waifu1 votes

Nah, ult someone who dives your own adc and just position correctly. He just creates a zone when the enemy team can't enter and that's how you play him.

RandömPlayer2 votes

3 of my last 5 games were over 30 min and most of my games are never decided in the first ten minutes, maybe it's just because I mute my team and there pings and just focus and play to my best no matter the situation were in and I play thresh so I can usually make a play to get us back in it and get someone kills. One of my games I unmuted my team for a min or two and they were freaking out at each other so I muted them again went back to focusing and made some clutch hooks and low and behold we came back and won so far this season I'm 27/6 so i'm having fun enjoying my games good times good times.

Evil Yasuo2 votes

I think around 20 minutes is fine. I get bored when they last too long. The problem however is the match is decided whoever picked the stronger adc and has the most tanks to protect the adc.

Yeah and that's where all the throws and terrible macro play come in that lead to comebacks.

I am not a good player, I can admit that, but Terrible macro play only matters in the current game times when it is CONSISTENTLY terrible. Like I said, I'm not a good player, take it with a grain of salt(or a gallon) but I believe the problem lies within how much influence ONE person can have on the game when ahead, or how little influence teams can have when behind. Should people carry games themselves all the time, no it is a team effort. Sometimes they should be able to, but the conditions for that should be more specific and difficult. On top of this, people who are behind around 10 min but are actually making good macro decisions should not be useless because they went 0-2 in lane. That is just my thoughts though.

U GOT WRECKT LOL1 votes

The problem is that there is too much safety. No one wants to play assassin's anymore cause everyone has a fucking stopwatch, so they don't even try to go for plays because they'll get outplayed by stopwatch when their entire champion depends on getting ahead. Then they are fucked the rest of the game as they have no way to catch up.

jaméss1 votes

I agree. I dont even want to play a lot anymore
