The irony of Morello and Luden's

Morello use to be the item everyone bought first. So for more item diversity, they changed it, but gave all the stats to Luden's. Now everyone just gets Luden's first.

Maybe, but the point was to make Lost Chapter a more flexible early item. What I like most about the mage item update is how Hextech GLP no longer competes with RoA. Nearly everytime I built RoA or GLP on a champ, I wish I had the other item instead (RoA for more health, GLP for active). This gives GLP a much more defined place in the game, IMO.

the point wasnt to stop the firstbuying of morellos, it was to give 3 different options to firstbuy

It's not strictly better than GLP or AA. it depends in your champ and the situation. GLP slow is really useful but if you don't need the CC you can get Luden's. If you are playing Ryze or Anivia, get AA.

It's not very interesting or ideal, but a baby step better than firstbuy Morello... lol
