I get you're merging Blue Essence and Influence Points...

Ok sure but why··3 votes·3,008 views

But why are you getting rid of the long-loved phrase "Influence Points" altogether, and replacing it entirely with the term not even two years old yet?

Because "influence points" has its roots in good lore that Riot is trying to erase and replace with really bad lore

because summoners dont exist in the lore anymore.

the concept of influence of your summoner doesnt make sense anymore.

im honestly surprised theyre not merging riot points and orange essence while theyre at it. maybe its alittle more difficult, since they cant be directly interchanged like blue essence and ip. theyd need to come up with new skin prices to create balance between randomly dropped and bought content, as you would be able to just buy skins off orange essence by disenchanting skin shards.

but in theory it would be possible.

though the prices seem reasonable. unlocking a legendary skin shard costs 1500 orange essence. buying a decent quality skin would cost 1350 orange essence if riot points would be interchanged 1:1 with orange essence.

so directly buying a skin would still be decently expensive compared to unlocking a random skin shard.

Just another thing Riot's taking away from us old players for the sake of unneeded change. Really just breaks my heart.

the existence of blue essence and ip was always redundant. im playing since before season 1 and i really dont care.

having 2 different currencies to unlock champions is just anoying anyways.

ip and blue essence are literally the same thing already, and you can already trade ip into blue essence by buying mystery champion tokens. theyre just getting rid of these extra steps.

Because the levels you get give you chests, some (I assume most) will have champion shards and you use blue essence to upgrade them.

influence points dont make sense anymore and cmon man who cares your just complaining for the sake of complaining. blue essence sounds cooler anyways. stop eating member berries and embrace the change! =D

the real problem is that this does nothing at all for players who have literally hundreds of thousands of ip. a lot of players easily have saved 300k and can buy everything riot is going to put in the limited time shop, without even having runes and pages converted. after they buy everything they can they will still have a ton left over with nothing to spend it on AGAIN... idk why riot wouldn't have figured this out.
