Question about Support items

I remember seeing something a little while back about Riot changing how the support items work. If i remember correctly, i think it was something along the lines of removing the limiter that shut off the bonus gold charges. EX: item 3853 would still give you 15 gold when you hit an enemy champion with a spell or basic attack.

Anyone know if that is still in the works? I know i would love access to my late game items, and not having to relay on a horde of kills/assists (or waiting 10-15 mins per item for passive gold) to get the money.

Oh that's misinterpreted, they just removed the debuff on it.

When it's complete you still won't get +15 gold per attack but just now once it's complete you no longer get the gold debuff from excessive minion kills.

The new support items give you more gold than before.

Between the free upgrades and the gold generation, you can walk into the mid-game with another full support item on top of the finished support item without taking a single minion or kill for yourself. You can get nearly two whole items out of a zero kill lane with zero farm.

You save 1400 gold from not needing to upgrade your support items. That's over 63 procs of the old support items. This means that in order for there to be a difference, you'd need to spend 10 minutes continuously proccing your support item after the first 1000 gold has been already earned.

Any gold deficiency you're feeling is all personal bias.
