Why do people still try to play Ezreal in ranked?
Kinda baffling tbh. Might as well run it down mid while you're at it.

Or Ryze and Azir
Even Jayce top pretty much loses most games due to comp (only chance is him snowballing massively)
His win rate spikes in most elos after 50 games played. Seriously the dudes popular enough that everybody is vaguely familiar with his kit but hella folks don't actually play him enough to justify taking him randomly to ranked. Also a top 5 in damage to champions in the adc role in every ranked bracket. So there is that going for him.
So i think the real question here is why do people first time champions they have a vague understanding of in ranked? My guess is cuz they thought they could or they just wanted to and did not care about the outcome.
I should definitely look at that statistic first. Cuz 50+ games isn't even that much so if they are going 50+% win on him then he probably isn't that bad. But his low win ratio just shows that so many are attempting to play him without actual experience in doing so and bringing the win ratio down.
I was just salty cuz I got an Ez on my team 3 games in a row and all 3 lost lane hard af to a Draven and 2 Tristanas--champs who are generally much stronger late game.
I just fail to see why you'd pick Ez if you're gonna lose lane to hypercarries that have insanely better scaling than you. I figured if you picked him at all it was to win lane or at least go even with the safety of long range Q's. But from my experience that's never the case.
Because he's 2 Ez, jk a good Ezreal will poke you out from afar all game then push with his team using his attack speed buff for objectives helps a ton.
He'll also get out DPS'd by the enemy support in a full on fight (exaggeration ofc).
But seriously his DPS is beyond subpar in comparison to others especially considering his best builds involve items that have additive stacking with each other for the most part (Muramana, Sheen items, etc.) while other ADC's are multiplicatively stacking ADxASxCritChxCritDmg + LS.
What's even worse is he misses out a ton on ally DPS buffs comparatively (Pix, Eye of the Storm, etc.) especially now with Ardent Censor being as strong as it is.
Ah well, there's the problem, Ezreal is really used to counterpick like certain champs

skillshots by dodging with e the moment they use em, of course his #1 hard counter
are lane bullys so no dodging autos as they hard engage with a gap closer rendering his e useless. so um yeah, burst per seconds is king around here in 20 min snowball fests.
Sadly most Ezreal players I see just go tear + cull, do no damage and just poke minions anyway.
He uses his useless laning phase to become even more useless and will only come back through kill stealing if the enemy team starts overextending hard and throws a few times in a row.
