nautilus's titan's wrath and clarity/burden of knowledge

tooltip states that it deals damage in a DoT over 2 seconds. because you obviously will attack at least once every two seconds, the player will assume that AS is completely worthless on him and he doesn't even need to auto that often in a fight to get the most out of the ability.

the actual behavior is dealing half the damage instantly and the other half over a 1 second dot, so you actually need to attack twice as often as you think to efficiently use your dot, and the on-hit damage encourages attacking as often as possible. how many nautilus games have been lost because the players COMPLETELY misunderstood how their ability worked because the tooltip's information gives a 100% false impression.

a closer examination: a max rank titan's wrath deals 100 damage + 40% ap, that means a 50 damage + 20% ap on hit, and an additional 50 + 20% ap over a 1 second dot. Kayle's righteous fury at max rank deals 60 damage + 25% ap on-hit, nautilus benefits almost as much from attack speed (80% of the damage per hit) as kayle, the premier ap on-hit champion.

how is riot trying to fix nautilus by looking at shield strength when this MASSIVE obstacle to clarity has been sitting around since release? it's pretty inexcusable that an ability leads players to think the polar opposite of what they should about a given damage stat.

either fix this ability so it deals more damage in an actual dot, which would be more fitting for a tank champion, or fix the tooltip so players actually understand that nautilus can deal significant damage with titan's wrath by building AS.
